I've mostly seen them in low budget or flash shorts. But a few seasons ago, there was this show called Beelzebub-jou that had purplish lineart and the whole things was frilly and fluffy, it went so well with the art and the visuals, I don't think it would've looked as pretty if they'd used regular lineart. What's I mean is, it depends on the execution.
