Oriental cultures seem to have a more fluid idea of gender and sexual orientation; it's definitely more common there to be fluid and playful with gender and whom one is attracted to there.

Like there's this Chinese "boy band" but the catch is that they're all androgynous females and they still reach an audience of largely teenage females that know this.

It seems like in European cultures more so if you're male and want to be "feminine" you have to be "female" first and identify as that but in oriental cultures it's fine to just be "feminine" whilst still being "male" so they feel less pressure to do a full hard transition.
