Soulburner Vs Revolver starts this week, and it may or may not be Takeru and Ryoken final duels. Place your bets, who'll win in the last unpredictable duel of VRAINS?
Episode 116: 完全燃焼 – Kanzen Nenshō (Complete Combustion) As their battle rages on, Revolver is disappointed to see that Soulburner still has doubts in his heart. Enraged by this, Soulburner decides to cast aside the trauma caused by the Lost Incident, and the sadness he felt after losing Flame. With all his doubts gone, Soulburner summons a mighty conflagration to his right hand and fights against Revolver with everything he’s got.
Episode 117: 交わらない道 – Majiwaranai Michi (Paths That Won’t Intersect) After finding out where Ai is, Yusaku heads to an island located in the outskirts of Den City, all by himself. Ai has already started making copies of himself on the island, using the SOLtiS he acquired from SOL Technologies. Ai reveals his motive for attacking humans, as well as all the thoughts he’s been keeping to himself. And now, with the future of the world on the line, Yusaku and Ai begin their first and final battle.
Takeru's revenge ends in the next duel and all that's left for him is to stop whatever Ai is planning and then he can go back to his hometown to fuck Kiku all day long. Sounds like a winner to me
Let's see, once all this nonsense war is over >Revolver and the Knights Of Hanoi go to prison >Yusaku may or may not lose Ai, also Takeru leaves Den City >Aoi recovers her brother >Takeru returns home free of thirst for revenge. I say only Aoi and Takeru will get happy endings. Oh and of course Kusanagi, i doubt he cares about Ai anyway
Everyone bar shitvulva, soulburner will get his revenge, Ai will get the revenge on the one who started the ignis hunt and put the cyberse into chaos at the start, playmaker will get ai back, aoi will get akira back, shitvulva dies for good
Camden Bailey
>at least it had a manga I think OCG structures could be an indication that they've given up on having manga adaptations all together in favor of shilling non anime cards. Maybe Kaz doesn't want to read them anymore.
Kevin Nelson
Having a production break to push an anniversary series should be a bad sign for everyone. But I'm not too phased, it's still more likely I'll like it than most of the shitposters here.
Adrian Diaz
Is VRAINS confirmed not having a manga?
Jaxson Green
nah it sucks too. Yuya wins everything, the end. I can't care about any of the other characters, because their motivations all get deemed useless by protag.
Also Reiji is the only character who gets to duel someone else besides Yuya, and that's it.
Bad manga.
Gavin Brown
>Maybe Kaz doesn't want to read them anymore. He doesn't even read them Yep
Nolan Rivera
That sucks, I like the manga adaptations. I was looking forward to see how they would spin the Ignis and maybe see if they have human forms too.
I don't think VRAINS is lacking a manga because it's bad. If anything, it's probably still Arc-V's fault.
Dominic Cook
>vrainfags are so delusional >they blame arc v for vrains being bad the show was cursed from the start and nothing you say will save it from it being the worst spinoff
Jordan Peterson
No, it's still animated better than GX or capsule monsters.
Adam Campbell
The main problem is, Vrains is already ending, why bother in releasing the manga at this point?
It's like Yugi and Atem. Yubel's a spiritual partner.
Levi Nguyen
Are you sure you know what pairing means
Nicholas Thomas
Same person. Same soul. Doesn't count.
Connor Green
Most people are assuming you mean romantic pairing.
Caleb Lopez
We still need to see what happens in thw next season before we can speculate about that, don't you think?
Blake Rogers
Having a stare off with Yusaku.
Juan Roberts
Looks pretty nice. Keep up the good work!
Camden Foster
Cute, but not as much as Judai X Rei
Levi Gutierrez
Extreme hand holding with Yusaku but this time more intimate. Now in all seriousness even if Ai Vs PM isn't the last duel in VRAINS i can't see her dueling anymore. Unless Pandor goes evil and gets her own robot army then she'll have an opponent
Speaking of NTR how many pairings does VRAINS have? From the top of my mind >Yusaku x Ryoken >Yusaku x Aoi >Akira x Hayami >Takeru x Kiku >Ai x Aqua >Emma x Akira >Emma x Yusaku I wonder if Yoshida will make one confess in the last seconds before the show ends
>Emma x Yusaku How delusional i was for expecting this to develop?
Lucas Reyes
There are voice lines with Hasselberry Tag Dueling Blair (Reference to Season 4). Who knows when they'll release. As for Martin he is very much never ever tier.
>Expecting Emma x Yusaku Very delusional. I mean she is a grown woman
Jaxson Nelson
>Kaiser rejected this cutie What a faggot.
Sebastian James
The end is near Yuzu meme was around since the synchro era
Colton Smith
Kaiser doesn't swing that low.
Eli Sanders
AHHHHH I think I want to play Tag Force 3 again and make an old fashioned Elemental Hero Deck. By the way, is there a reason why Darkness doesn't appear in that game? The story mode ends with Fujiwara as the final boss. I heard is because the original plan for the Anime was to end it with Fujiwara and Darkness didn't became a thing till late in production.
Is a shame the Tag Force series don't seem to have made much profit or else we would still be getting sequels to this day. Or maybe it's because Sony handhelds died
>must kind of know the special treatment deal >still goes for the lowfruit of sexual favors do you need a reminder of it simply being that she played the game irl so they figured bonus promo
Leo Edwards
And ironically they only gave her 1 Duel (and while brainwashed at that).
Zachary Wright
>They weren't fused since the beginning though. I fail to see how they shouldn't count as a pairing.
Can't ship yourself with yourself. Same person. Same soul. Doesn't count. Just masturbation.
Zachary Gray
I still hate Yubel's flashback asspull.
Matthew Watson
I'm confused, do you think people don't pairYugi and Atem romantically?
Adrian Sanders
Yeah, but those are mostly weird girls.
Isaiah Rodriguez
>are mostly weird girls Fujos
Isaac Hernandez
Furious Dragon in 115, then soulburner summons his new ace in 116?
Austin Smith
Similar ones that'd make Jaden and Yubel a pairing.
FUck, I hope they give us a cute big boobed protagonist in yugioh 7
Jacob Gutierrez
>not them being too lazy I think there's more than just them being lazy. As we know Zexal World Duel Carnival had Tag Force data in it like Sprites, overworld and animations. Zexal Tag Force probably existed but was scrapped to make that game instead to try luck on the 3DS. It didn't work and now we are stuck with this lazy rehashes. What a tragedy
Why are you thinking they're not going to pander even more to the japanese audience with an even more stereotypical male protagonist when the new manga is OCG structures?
Jeremiah Scott
>mfw when realizing we won't ever get the 4 Dragons or stuff like Darkfluid in Tag Force's quality animations, instead LotD's bs ones.
Evan Hill
Ai should have been a girl.
Joshua King
>MC with a female spirit companion IMAGINE. Im tier of human boy x boy spirit thing the franchise has for years. Maybe like the teaser said the next series will have something different, After all, it said IT WOULD CHANGE THE HISTORY OF YU-GI-OH! ANIME AS WE KNOW IT
Reira had Ray as a female spirit companion and you saw how they changed his sex last moment so it wouldn't be awkward. "Yuzu is inside him!" doesn't have the same effect as "Yuto is inside him!".
just for them to ban it or whatever happens to abuse it? no thanks
Elijah Barnes
Duel was pure bait. I was about to shout "oh shit! a rank up!" but then it was another reincarnation. I wouldnt mind if it wasnt because the tensei mechanic was hardly worked since the debut.
Benjamin Wood
What do you mean, Zexal Tag Force was made for the PSP too
It shouldn't end. They didn't take a break when production values were very low in DM and GX. Why stop now?
Elijah Cruz
Is it really ending? It feels like Season 3 just started.
Joshua Stewart
I think it's just unnecessary for there to be a tie-in manga that's only very superficially tied to the anime it's borrowing characters from. They're never long enough and it's probably better to offer up something more distinct and different in the side media like the manga.
NAS and Konami could technically do even more with making the franchise more multi-media like web animated shorts or something to generate more buzz by providing more fanservice for fans, but I guess they don't feel a need to.
Cooper Wilson
I'm the user that wanted a VRAINS manga.
I like seeing the alternate stories.
>NAS and Konami could technically do even more with making the franchise more multi-media like web animated shorts or something to generate more buzz by providing more fanservice for fans, but I guess they don't feel a need to.
I agree with this though; Yu-Gi-Oh! feels like it's due to become one of those multi-media franchises. They should launch a bunch of manga at the same time, I don't see why they can't afford it.
Anthony Stewart
Manga is basically advertisement for an archetype that only exist in the manga.
Ethan Davis
>I don't see why they can't afford it. Shuiesha doesn't want to fill a bunch of magazines with yugioh stuff.
Nolan Gray
Unless Climax means a season just started in Japan yeah is ending
Advertisement for cards that you can only hope they would bother to make into real cards
William Powell
Dragon Maid says hi. Also Wicked Gods.
Henry Gonzalez
One or two more manga artists doing monthly releases would cost them small pennies compared to what they spend on any other widespread marketing and maintenance of the franchise.
They could even rotate out authors/artists on additional spin off manga to create shorter stories or oneshots to be like a potential idea incubator and allow them freedom to approach a wide variety of things as long as it's within the bounds of the franchise (like card lore or using duel monsters as characters). Which then the anime staff can lift things from, even minor things like if there happens to be a cool archetype or character/monster design they come up with. It's kinda like what western comics do, except this would be much more efficient for their purposes of paying in a few pennies to generate some more presence for Yugioh.
It doesn't even have to be printed. Webtoons are climbing in popularity
Camden Green
>Dragon Maid OCG original >Wicked Gods Sure, but where's the rest of the cards from R like Keith's Motor Deck or how about Arc-V's Mirror Imagine, GX Johan's Insects or Sealed Beasts?
Owen Evans
I want to fuck Aoi.
Parker Ward
Why is Johan the dude when he had the girliest voice?
Jace Peterson
>It doesn't even have to be printed I don't know about you, but I think animations are even more far fetched.
Asher Reed
Having just finished seaoson three of arc-v, i don't see what everyone is complaining about, it's at least not zexal, or the filler arcs from the original yu-gi-oh
webtoons as in webcomics that are formatted for continuous scrolling while viewing online, not web animation
Asher Davis
People who post about arc-v perpetually are just a bit overdramatic.
Gavin Wood
>more like >OH VR-GI-AIN YU!
Brody Ross
To think there's a parallel universe in which this is real.
Colton Nelson
>it's at least not zexal Way to out yourself as having no taste.
Ethan Myers
Summer is over, kid. Go sleep already.
Luis Davis
How many more episodes does Vrains have left in it?
Blake Jackson
I don't think they want to shift into purely digital just yet.
Connor Davis
No one said purely digital for everything though, as in the print manga would not be cancelled. Why would it? You sound very ESL or are hallucinating imaginary words
Josiah Mitchell
5-8 probably.
Hudson Perry
In that same parallel universe, they are about to get VRAINS Tag Force 15 too
probably 35-40 to last until next march in an ideal world it would've been done already so they can try again with something better
Nathan Ward
No, but it would signal a shift to digital formats when the magazines still sell well. They're not taking risks.
Alexander Anderson
Yuma was a bad character, sucked at the game, allthough i did like his interactions with kathy.
Zexal was okay. just the least good of yugioh
Owen Cox
>so they can try again with something better They don't have original ideas, don't fool yourself.
Ryder Kelly
~35
Camden Hill
don't several manga magazines also publish digitally now anyway in addition to print? japs still like to stick with print like how they still stick to fax machines.
also, going more multimedia doesn't necessarily mean they HAVE to do webtoons, it's just one example of increasing diversification for a low cost. Why are you so adamant at defending NAS/Konami for being stuck in 2001? Are you paid 50 cents per post?
Michael Bennett
Hopefully less than 10. Realistically speaking 15
Tyler Bennett
neither do you, apparently. no one cares about original ideas, they care about the execution
Caleb Lewis
10 most likely
Brandon Ortiz
I'm not really defending anything. They just don't have any reason to innovate in that direction when they already have huge stable sources of income.
William Carter
Is that why the audience perpetually tolerates anime only cards and effects since forever?
Jaxon Sanders
Every new character introduced from synchro and onwards was inoffensive and bland at best, and actively bad at worse. I have no idea how any of that could be unironically fun. >inb4 "but sur-gay!" nah, bland
hikokubo at his worst usually involves him forgetting effects exist, mixing them up, or glaring misplays. there's some hideously bad anime-only cards like the iconic battle beast one, but they're not egregiously common and most anime effects are innocuous by themselves compared how hikokubo uses/misuses those cards
Christopher James
the anime shouldn't abide by irl events that happen to certain cards like what happened with firewall it's retarded and it doesn't make sense for a card to not show up in the show just because it got banned they don't even bother to write a canon explanation for the disappearance of firewall
It's probably some old rule they made way back in the dm/gx days and keep to it as an artifact. Although I'm not sure why THAT is the hill they're willing to die on compared to how they changed the unspoken rule of anime characters not being allowed to reach each other's cards directly so that everyone can look extra retarded now
Juan Sanders
Were you complaining about the lack of Code Talker usage as well?
Christopher Gutierrez
i don't care about code talkers i'm just saying that firewall is the ace monster and the face of the link era it shouldn't be taken off the show just because it got banned in the game
Alexander Peterson
Firewall isn't even dark lol
Benjamin Gray
It doesn't make sense to advertise product that can't be used.
Chase Williams
Not my Link monster
Nicholas Flores
Everyone went to fight to the parallel ygo nostalgia thread.
Levi Bailey
I'm gonna be that idiot for asking this question, but what absurd combos/FTKs would there be if Firewall's effects were hard OPTs?
John Sanchez
Im shitposting on both threads.
James Price
I'm so tired of arguments
Noah Jenkins
firewall being OPT would fix its ftk problems but it won't fix it being a combo a card that lead to extra links or unbreakable boards
Benjamin Allen
a hard opt errata would fix firewall, right?
Hudson Clark
Yeah, it's better than dark. It' light.
Grayson Rodriguez
Get ready for the shitposting and arguments on Wednesday.
why does Yea Forums hate 5ds while /dng/ likes it ?
Aaron Barnes
GX and DM shitposters maybe, but not all of Yea Forums. I don't know how you got that.
Elijah Perry
>I don't know how you got that the other thread on Yea Forums is filled with anti 5ds
Jaxon Lee
GX it goes 1.Yubel 2.Rei 3. Jesse aka that faggot 4.Asuka
Angel Scott
>CHADBURNER >a fucking vacuum cleaner beat him lol
Christian Gomez
There are a lot of the aforementioned posters.
Thomas Price
It's not anti5ds but rather that 5ds is heavily overrated.
Charles Sanchez
Who the fuck is Jesse? The list goes Yubel > Johan > Asuka > Quiz Dude > Yugi Cosplayer > Rei.
Kevin Mitchell
roboppi didn't hit a main monster zone like he was supposed to.
Juan Bailey
Arc-V's downfall had more impact watching it week-to-week rather than binging it. Were you annoyed by the characters being in hotel rooms during the Synchro Arc? Be grateful you didn't have to handle such a stagnant plot for months.
Dominic Harris
Imagine Guts staying in the boat for years in Berserk.
Daniel Sullivan
This. Also be grateful you didn't have to go through Battle Beast for a month. Sure, the memes here were fun at the time, but holy crap.
Caleb Williams
how can it be overrated when japan doesn't like it and prefers zexal over it ?
Daniel Lewis
meant for
Michael Nelson
Why is light dragon more important than dark knight?
arc-v's downfall was stringing the audience along before turning around to disgrace its own original cast, and not delivering on hype when the audience was willing to wait through 90% of synchro if it meant one satisfying hype moment
it definitely got more love than vrains in its first half, but that means it also got more passionate hate due to feelings of betrayal. it went deeper (for the nips, especially) than simply being stagnant or boring like vrains. even when the nips are unhappy with vrains, it's not sub-10% meme tier like it was with arc-v
what vrains characters do you genuinely like whether or not they're allowed to do anything important in the show? besides Ai
Oliver Rodriguez
Go, Akira, Emma.
Zachary Hall
Soulburner
Jackson Young
Yea Forums eventually was shitposting heavily about Arc-v by the time Fusion arc started, because that was probably the most fun thing in relation to the show by that point. Was the transition from praise to shitting on Arc-v more turbulent on the jap side of the internet? From how forgiving they were of Synchro there must've been a lot of naysayer vs apologist arguments in the transition period
why is yusaku so much bigger than Chadyoken also where is Ai
Jose Clark
Yilaster could have just fixed the momentum.
Jason Green
>5ds is heavily overrated More like underrated, considering how when aired nobody gave a fuck.
Joshua Collins
I think it's funny that vrains is based off of japanese conquest mythology but the protagonist doesn't conquer anything.
Jeremiah Carter
Dumping. I think Specter's mother tree being cut while he was being held for the lost incident was one of the saddest things I've ever watched in ygo. I wonder if the next series can also bring some very emotional moments.
Now that I think about it this way of playing the Russian Roulette seems totally wrong because there's no turns and also there's the risk both get shot. I should have stuck to a simple revolver but I really like to add references to the cards in the sketches I make.
Stratos being freed last year after so long was really a memorable moment. I am sure many more people made art for that moment but here's my late contribution.
I know that. 118 was when the ballot stuffing started because of Tsukikage getting carded off-screen just as he got focus.
Aoi.
Connor Cook
The ignis got were turned into pawn AI quickly. Maybe Pandor can keep their legacy from going to waste, but who knows.
Charles Murphy
Remember when Arc-V's 5th Ending initially was a DSOD Trailer and everyone complained? Funny how it looked way better than the actual Ending.
Eli Adams
I know this is a VRAINS thread, but, is "Season 0" worth watching, should I watch DM dubbed or subbed, and are there even any good subs for DM that cover the entire series?
Ethan Sanders
It is pretty interesting to watch, especially if you have never read the Manga. Go for it, man.
Ian King
sorry, I fell asleep amidst the posting. I had one left to post.
I liked the song too, but I meant the visuals. The DSOD Trailer looked better than the boring stills the actual Ending had (all the other Endings had better ones).
Jace Thomas
INTO
Jack Robinson
Considering everything happened because Hanoi got played by Lightning, no.

Unfortunately Firewall Dragon isn't actually needed to summon Firewall Dragon Darkfluid. Though a light monster to destroy the darkness would be a lot more thematic.
The art doesn't really make them mysterious besides mothman. It tries to make them look outright monstrous for the most part.
Hunter Cooper
Yusaku's Final Boss likely will be a Link-6 (even if I don't like Darkfluid's Link-5 impact being undermined so fast) to bring all the number 6 patterns in the show full circle.
He already kind of died with the Neuron Link.
Landon Cook
She also has a job as a journalist, so she probably has a college degree. 23 or 24 maybe?
David James
Whether that's true or not I don't know. But they decided we needed 5 more episodes with soulburner instead
I wish more of them would opt for thinner outlines. It sticks out too much.
Brandon Gray
Zexal may have had a larger budget, but they'd need the GDP of a small country to animate Anna's jiggle for 146 episodes. It simply isn't a problem with Kotori.
Gumblar is hopt, also he is an end board problem, completely different from firewall which is just an extender allowing you to make unbreakable extea link with ease
Lincoln Lewis
I've had alphabet soup that was more coherent than this post.
Adrian Brown
That doesn't really hold. Asuka and many of the other female GX characters were bigger, but GX's budget was the lowest.
From 1 to 10 how likely do you think it is for Soulburner to actually win? I still think the ceremonial duel will be between Playmaker and Revolver before he goes to jail
Main girl not the protagonist. Unless you're one of those female MC posters.
Noah Kelly
R E D J O B B E R
Samuel Morris
Sorry, I misread your post. I need to check on my eyes again.
Michael Smith
red winner, white jobber
Blake Hall
Did that plot have room for that kind of character? I can't imagine the writers would have wanted to copy the anime that came directly before Arc-V either.
Kayden Ramirez
>fairies or plants Why only those types? Where is my Beast user, like Serena, or Winged Beast user, like Ruri? Psychic? Insects? Aqua, anyone?
Jonathan Mitchell
Is Shouma going to wreck him with Hakais or what?
Adam Bell
>fairies probably not >plants konami has bad history with plans so also probably not
Liam Rivera
Considering last time focused on the pack they come from I'm guessing this will be the same so either Dragon Maids or GeneRaiders
Now people shitposted that this manga wouldn't come over for reasons like Needlefiber but now pic was already confirmed & had eff leaked by tcg before official so what are the chances?
Jason Morgan
Are you implying a Needlefiber release or the Manga being translated overseas despite being called OCG Structures?
Jayden Parker
People are posting that the manga won't be localized because it's named OCG structures. Not to mention the fact that it is in V jump and isn't getting translations despite the fact that the Arc-V manga was getting consistent translations that were free to read. Needlefiber is just salt in the wound.
Noah Mitchell
tcg won't get noodlefiber and even if they do get it it will be too late for it to be meta
Juan Fisher
>pic >D/D/D's 2 weeks yet another victim of Tewart's bullshit
gate of super fire trap (this card is always treated as a "salamangreat" card) after this card resolves, you take no effect damage for the rest of this turn, also your opponent takes double damage
Blake Powell
Ai will never lose to shitvulva counter trap when a rokkek or borrelcuck card is activated, negate the activation, and if you do, banish that card, then inflict 4000 damage to your opponent
Lucas Fisher
Gate of fire is the most embarrassing card of this series.
Lincoln Evans
Rei should have been with the french boy.
Hunter Williams
>New episode tomorrow Both excited and sad we are about to see Soulburner and Revolver last duel
Probably but i hope the writers realized how boring of a finale would that be. Are we supposed to believe Revolver stands a chance against Yusaku? He'll probably shill a new Link 5 and thats it
Dylan Nelson
The last time an opponent in a ceremonial duel stood a chance it didn't show the conclusion.
John Myers
Yeah but in Zexal Astral put a really good fight, same with Reiji in ARC-V
>it didn't show the conclusion GX? Because Yugi totally won that duel.
Leo Wood
And Revolver wouldn't? He got Playmaker down to 13 LP once.
Nathaniel Cooper
Because we know Revolver didn't stand a chance against Bohman. If he loses to Soulburner then don't expect him to be the final duel
Blake Cooper
I don't know why people still think this. Yoshida made the ceremonial duel in Zexal a protagonist vs partner duel, I don't see why Vrains would be different.
Tyler Scott
Thanks for doing the late request.
Hudson Mitchell
Playmaker fighting Ai isn't really a ceremonial duel that's just fighting the villain.
Ute is best Yu, but nothing is as memorable as imoutoman's war vet ptsd fueled rage. Hell they even made an airstrike retrain of revolution falcon, because Shun carpet bombing Sora into oblivion was so fucking amazing
Isn't it weird how Yusaku doesn't seem like he'll be getting a tag duel?
Jordan Gonzalez
Is Yusaku the first protagonist to not get a tag duel?
Angel Cook
If only Gon played his cards right he could have won on his 1st fucking turn, but instead Yuya had to drag Arc-V's quality into the ground even further.
Jace Sullivan
Unless you count dueling with Ai, yeah.
Nathan Wood
Is there still a mega folder for downloading subs?
I hope so, just to see the revulva shitposter's reaction
Lucas Peterson
no he only got him down to 50, playmaker reduced himself to 13, plus playmaker has improved so much more than that time while shitvulva has stagnated and not improved at all
Lincoln Davis
I see you're bravely fighting over those 37 points. Even though Playmaker wouldn't have been forced to use the cards to reduce his life points if it wasn't for Revolver's actions.
Jason Edwards
I swear if VRAINS ends with Soulburner losing to both Revolver and a crazy Vacuum Cleaner I'll be fucking mad. You can't treat the best character like this and get away with it
They are hyping it up as the last duel. I'll miss you Takeru and even you Revolver cho-animedia.jp/anime/113856/? >Bohman I know you are baiting but using him of all characters is so disgusting
Original animation? You mean the single line that divided her chest?
Logan Jones
I just realized I do kinda like the majority of the recurring cast to some extent. It's just that the 'only Yusaku matters' factor and the few bad but prominent characters like Bohman get kind of overbearing
Henry Scott
Theres never been any indication of Sol being capable of competency. They're almost more like a force of nature. Everything they do pushes humanity up to the brink of disaster if the God-human Fujiki Yusaku wasnt on humanity's side, but they cant help but barrel forward to that potential disaster, driven by capitalistic competition and the corporate need to continually push for profitable progress in any way they can in order to be the first to the punch. All spurred on by a body of shareholders who individually dont want to end humanity but cant help themselves in demanding for more and more as a collective, regardless of risks.
Ethan Lopez
I bet this episode is just building up to this again.
EXPLODEROKKET DRAGON BABY OH NO NO NO NO NO NO AHAHAHAHAH >throws away game turn 2 >resorts to DRAW LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Aiden Barnes
Fuck off you dumb shitposter.
Jack Edwards
What do speedlines have to do with anything? There's a clear skill gap between in house animators and outsource animators that has only widened since arc v. It comes down simply to skill levels and capability
Jace Baker
There are cards soulburner can never use despite having them on hand.
>soulburner pushed revolver so far that he actually broke the mask lmao roboppi officially > revolver
Kevin Morgan
You just increased his shitposting dedication by giving him a you If telling him to leave worked, he wouldnt have been spamming for 2 years
Xavier Sanders
I'm just saying there's movement and action in episodes not by noh.
Ian Roberts
Yeah there’s action but it’s nothing that gets you hyped like any of the typical battle shonen or this preview. The only time I can remember something that looked that good was when Bakura got roasted by Marik
Because Noh deciding to stay with Yugioh is his own dedicated personal preference or out of fierce loyalty, not a sound business decision for his career as an animator (in contrast to Ebina's departure for a good position with Fate)
Then again, Noh's case is somewhat rare as a Korean who I think moved to Japan by now for his job, and is bilingual. Maybe the way the studio staff treats him at work despite making him do so much is the cause for his loyalty. Iirc for Ebina it wasnt easy to leave despite how garbage arcv was, from how he stated it on twitter.
Caleb Diaz
What the hell is wrong with his face?
Austin Reyes
I'm sure there were a lot of alright action episodes since those days.
Nathan Rodriguez
Well duh, even poorly drawn animation is still going to convey action and movement. Mindblowing, isnt it
Done by a veteran in house animator, junpei ogawa. His cuts just further highlight how untrained 70% of vrains animators are
Ryder Robinson
Just picking up cards from the top
Thomas Young
I don't know, that sounds like you're just guessing. It's a good thing that these shonen adaptations rarely have consistently great animation.
Austin Wilson
Maybe his wrist hurts.
Xavier Scott
It's not guessing if about 3 or 4 out of 10 episodes on vrains are done in house and the rest are outsourced, since the in house guys are the only ones who seem properly trained for the job. Sometimes the others try a little more than usual but its obvious their inexperience or skill level makes everything even a little complex a fucking struggle
Kayden Smith
Reminds me of Gundam IBO where the only good cuts were clearly, noticeably Obari's cuts. Everything else just looked like absolute intern-level shlock.
Parker Brooks
I barely remember that but I doubt it was this good. This one was pretty crazy but it was just Jonouchi getting his ass kicked over some loose pussy
IBO was an uggo looking show for a gundam but compared to shit like Arslan, that show had other things really dumping it in the shitter beyond animation. It's a lot easier to look past poor drawing if the other things are good but with IBO, well...
Jonathan Stewart
Okay, but there were 3 animation directors on that episode, it couldn't have been one of them?
Xavier Nguyen
I just rewatched it yesterday, top tier quality.
Alexander Ross
Junpei ogawa key animates for both in house and outsource episodes, hes not an animation director outside of a few occasions. His style has been the same for a decade
William Harris
So just guessing. As always.
Chase Gonzalez
There were but compare something like the first Goku vs Vegeta is never getting animated in Yugioh even though they’re using VR bodies. This was the perfect time to save the franchise with those shonen like battles
John Cooper
His name is in the key animator credits and no other ad or key animator from their outsource crew have ever demonstrated in their history that kind of skill level. You're just being contrarian for the sake of it because you don't know even the basics of production or how to recognize obvious style
Grayson Sullivan
>contrarian for the sake of it No, I just don't have confidence in the guesses of strangers on things that don't have any real markings of who did it.
Kevin Campbell
But I wouldn’t give him any sort of praise on the way out as if he deserved it
Jayden Cooper
You dont need strangers if you have eyes
Wyatt Robinson
Even if a Junpei Ogawa clone entered Yugiph out of nowhere, that's like an extra 1 or 2% of really good animation in screentime. It doesn't make their bad outsource teams any more skilled
Brody Rivera
But that had nothing to do with the fact that the other Noh duels never had the characters getting their shit pushed in like this. They have the means to destroy entire cities and all they do is duel on a small part of the land
Alexander Roberts
Well, it can't all be good. Way too fast a process for that.
Ayden Gutierrez
No it doesnt have to all be great, or even that animated with a lot of movement. What brings up the visuals of an episode is simply if the characters manage to look nice even in the most mundane and boring head shots. People notice the in house ADs bc they simply draw characters well most of the time on a technical level, and they look the most handsome or pretty in their eps, since being comfortable with basic skills lends to development of personal flair or style. 5 secs of great animation is nice for monster summons or something, but a bigger bump is if most of the outsource teams were simply better trained or instructed on the very basics of drawing. I imagine a lot of them just never received much solid guidance and are winging it without any kind of mentorship
It's also not just a yugioh problem, theres a lot of really sloppy or amateur looking shows due to high volume of anime every year
