Less than a year has passed in their universe.

There have been other references to rape too, like in the black bunny nightclub case. I wonder if that one will even get an adaptation. The poisonous coffee case had a women whose boss was trying to coerce her into sex, that kind of counts. I think there was also an anime filler episode that implied a child had been kidnapped for some unsavory purpose and then murdered.

They're finally getting to the bunny case and we're out of filler soon.

There should be a case where Conan gets kidnapped by an insane shotacon fujo who tries to rape him, and he has to escape her clutches without the help of his gadgets. It would make a good Detective Boys filler and can also educate the kids in the audience about stranger danger as a bonus.

I only really ever watched this show when I was a teenager and it was on adult swim but I remember one episode where the case was just about some ripped up flag or some shit and it bugged the everloving piss out of me. I think my brain was willing to go along with the fact that every single case involves murder until it broke that internal rule for something as benign as that.

The formula is "murder/case of the week", while slowly advancing on the real "threat", even if it get repetitive and tiresome sometimes, it can basically go on forever, how do you not understand that?

Not sure what to tell you man. It isn't Cowboy Bebop or anything but I still think its standards are fine, the show progresses its base style over time and its animation directors change with it. There's a few rough styles here and there but personally only one director's version of the characters bugged me, but he didn't have that many episodes. This is more of a laid back show most of the time, very early on the style was simple and cute, even in the manga. It got more detail as it went on.
