Then there was the ring scene and they left the rabbit tribe. I feel like they rushed through some boring shit about some side characters that will never be relevant again, so I'm more than okay that it was wrapped in one episode.
Now it didnt convince me to buy anything, but then again I never buy any anime product no matter how much I like it.

I see your point and I obviously didn't read every LN ever published but the vast majority of the ones I tried was poorly written, filled with onomatopeia and repetitions. Dialogues were awkward and the narrator never describes facial expressions, gestures or tone of characters, each and every one of them is pretty vital to establish the atmosphere. I never know how to imagine the place the characters are currently either.
That said, I can enjoy LNs but there is few of them which I didn't find jarring due to phrasing, and these were emulating the western style.

For that reason they need to gain points on shousetsuka ni narou. For that they need to write what narou readers want to read, they need to fulfill what wishes and fetishes narou readers want to fulfill.
There even are cases where the authors believe and take to heart the comments of their readers and take their story in that direction.
This is a trend started by the readers for the readers who took wish-fulfillment to a new stage and there is literally nothing wrong with it. Let me give you an example. Japanese MC talks to a noble, he is twirling his moustache and the description ends here. Everyone and their mother knows already that said noble is bad news, probably has sex slaves and plans to abduct MC's waifu or screw him over in some other manner.
Well written evil noble should be sly and charismatic, or at least reasonable and persuasive. He will plan to screw MC over but not be open about that and the narrator might just hint it by describing a slight gesture or change in the posture he made when MC agreed to exterminate a horde of monsters for him.

You don't know what you're saying. Director writing script and being animation director, episode director and animator is perfectly fine. That happens a lot. Director being animation runner is abnormally odd. If they're too busy to be about to break deadlines, there's no way he has time to spare for such a job. But apparently he has more than enough time. There seems no schedule issue in the production. So say the animation quality and the number of the animation directors and the animators. As for budget, the characters moves more than average anime. I guess they use 4000 to 5000 cels a episode. They're not trying to make it cheaply. There seems no budget issue either.
