I just recently saw this trailer for the upcoming anime "Hataage! Kemono Michi" and it might actually be the best thing I've ever seen. And the wrestler dude did a suplex move on a princess is a rare sight to see
Then I saw 'Honzuki no Gekokujou (Ascension of a Bookworm)' is another that I'm actually looking forward too
Recently, and we've had threads talking about it, the isekai genre is one of those that are a mixed bag. Some of them are great, but the rest are just terrible and just pure "meh"
While I'm excited for these I'm still in doubt whether the Isekai genre would hold if they keep producing terrible series that has predictable and cliche stories
Some of these Isekai series will likely revitalize the concept, but are there any other isekai series that deserves an anime?
Drop some manga series you would like to see get made as an anime. Or drop some ideas for further concept. Maybe build a group here to build up on that
>the isekai genre is one of those that are a mixed bag Every genre is. People thinking that any particular genre might be inherently good or bad are being stupid. >if they keep producing terrible series that has predictable and cliche stories Like every other genre? >but are there any other isekai series that deserves an anime? You might want to look into .
I'm guiding that retard to realization of his biased elitism that unnecessarily bars him from simple pleasures of isekai fuck off.
Carter Wood
You can break isekai into a few phases actually, and as far as traditional literary value goes, each one is a marked dropped from the last. Older isekai use the premise to explore concepts that you couldn't regularly. There're obvious ones like Now and Then, Here and There where it's a fish out of water story that puts regular people into a setting they're helpless in with wildly different rules for survival, or even just plain old Inuyasha where the difference in times sets up a complication in the story by reincarnation and a central conflict is what world the female lead will pick. Then you got the isekai resurgence that spun off of video game fantasy, where it's basically the same shit as that except that the view point character's ability to win is written into the premise. Stuff like NGNL and Mondaiji were still big on the pandering, but they had characters with an actual background that contributes to their success in the new world. Now most isekai just has a protagonist with no characterization or background that receives a cheat so that audiences can live through their surrogate easily. The genre, more than any around right now, is just a full on power fantasy, and it gets more derivative as time goes on. It really has every metric of decline visible to it as a genre.
Not that I don't think it's fine to just enjoy isekai for what it is, but if there's such a thing as objectivity in merit at all, isekai is definitely bottom of the barrel.
>traditional literary Isekai purpose is escake from soul-grinding wageslavery. It does it very well. You're judging fish with tree climbing ability. >puts regular people into a setting they're helpless Target isekai audience is already helpless to escape vicious cycle of working themselves into suicidal depression. Why would they want to read about hard stuff in their free time? >were still big on the pandering, but they had characters with an actual background And there are big titles being written today with characters that aren't cardboard. They've yet to establish themselves in audience at the same level as NGNL. This argument looks like typical oldman >grass was greener and my erection was better in the old days! >receives a cheat so that audiences can live through their surrogate easily See above about fish and tree climbing. It's not about genre deteriorating it's about supply and demand: a lot of modern isekai just answer the escapism demand and it does it good. >full on power fantasy, Don't act like power fantasy is 2019 thing, it existed and was popular since as long as fantasy existed. >It really has every metric of decline visible to it as a genre. Nah you just have granpa tunnel vision: a lot of isekai just answer cheap grab-and-escape demand but there are good titles out there with proper worldbuilding and characters, being made today. >Not that I don't think it's fine to just enjoy isekai for what it is You're apparently very okay with cherry-picking and generalizations, so >objectivity in merit at all There isn't and if there is it would be "how well does genre answer target audience demands" because that's why media content is being made, for the most part barring few outlier conceptual masterpieces done as experiments by whoever was brave enough to fund them.
Most of the gripe comes from 2 points: >typical isekai MC is blandest gary stu ever to allow for easy self-inserting This isn't anything bad it's just for the purpose of easing in readers into self-inserting. Fantasy does it too it just takes a lot longer to flesh out character there for reader to be comfortable enough to self-insert this is after all the final, most intimate form of empathizing with a character. In day and age when fantasy character may be retconned as triple helicopter turbo gay democrat antifa 10 years after publishing that's not really surprising. >the setting is template DQ stuff down to adventurers ranks and damsels in distress And fantasy most common tropes are burned down home and revengeclimb to smother your enemies, every genre has cliches and exceptions that don't follow them.
Saying >man X is going to shit fits almost anything in any era because, when big, genres start to pander to larger audience = average common denominator.
Such is the fate of mass production and publishing in capitalism: you write what makes food on your table unless you're already rich and in no way is this trend limited to only isekai.
But when you think about it the entire concept of it does make sense that magic spells are like codes from a computer, and the spellcasters are programmers
>it does make sense that magic spells are like codes from a computer, It really depends on what kind of system of magic you are envisioning.
Jonathan Cooper
Academical magic = wizardry requires magical encoding = magical language and oftentimes magical formations so it's literally an encoding + scheme design. Sorcerfags that just swing their dragon bloodline or whatever are fucking hacks.
Cooper Wood
>magical language and oftentimes magical formations so it's literally an encoding + scheme design. Not really. Some isekai make it a bit nicer by having the protagonist read it as programming, while to everybody else it's just language. The protagonist has a different mindset and thus casts the spell slightly differently from everybody else. But that doesn't make his way the objectively right one. I mentioned weaving before, and that's how people of the past often envisioned magic (and that's why you still get spell weaving mentioned sometimes). The understanding what sorts of patterns emerge when you interweave various threads of power is not the same as coding.
Eli Roberts
can a sorcerer hacc into a magic formation?
Jacob Roberts
Was pirated too much and not bought enough, so no. Blame almost all people on /a.
Jack Collins
You miss the point: alphabet of any language IS programming, sort of. It's an encoding that follows certain rules and when structured properly - it starts to have "meaning". In case localshit magicians fail to realize magic language has structure to it and did not research it - they're fucking retarded and this setting deserves axe. They're inherently different but he can try forcibly cancel it by flooding with raw mana or something.
Isaac Diaz
>Was pirated too much The ever popular and ever wrong excuse. >the fans of our product are just more criminal than the fans of other products. We swear it's not because our product just wasn't very popular!
Christopher Bell
Good riddance. >localized sales >mattering to nip publishers Retard.
Aiden Brooks
>You miss the point: alphabet of any language IS programming, sort of. I got that point. My argument is that it's a particular perspective. It's not necessarily mutually exclusive with a "magical language" perspective, but it is different.
Jordan Ross
I want to get isekai'ed and punch Tobias in the face.
object oriented magic is only popular among industry hacks (adventurers) real 10x magicians use functional magic.
Brayden Edwards
>magically transported forward through time to a different version of their original world >new world's inhabitants have no knowledge of the world the stone people came from
It is functionally an isekai but not literally one. Many bad isekai are literally isekai but not functionally, because their origin is never brought up again. It's almost like the definition of "got to a new world at the start of the series" is not very useful to describe a genre.
Austin Lee
magic frameworks 3rd party
Aaron King
Isekai can't be redeemed any more than capeshit can be at this point.
Kayden Lopez
Yeah, it revolutionized native isekai genre
Jace Brooks
Yeah. Usually, time-travel isekai transports characters backward in time and has them participate in some historical conflict. Dr. Stone just has them going forward in time instead.
I suppose "Nobunaga-sensei no Osanazuma" would also qualify as an isekai, if it were portrayed from the perspective of the waifus.
Brody Barnes
I started watching this piece of shit literally called Isekai Cheat Magician.
>dude gets Isekaied >first thing he thinks of to do is join the Adventure Guild to make money. You know, because that is ordinary work. Not a cook, farmer, laborer, or educator etc >he doesn't even know he has any powers at this point, he almost got killed by a demon horse >oh course they have a pseudo scouter that breaks because it turns out his power level is too high >some magician chick wants to train him without asking who he is, where he came from, why he has more power than god and doesn't know how to do anything with it, why isn't he familiar with the world, what would he do with his power, etc etc
So much gaps in logic. PEOPLE DON'T ACT LIKE THIS ARE OTAKU RETARDED
>first thing he thinks of to do is join the Adventure Guild to make money. He gets saved from mortal danger by Adventurers and realizes importance of self-defense in a world without police and universal security. >some magician chick wants to train him without asking who he is yeah you;d want to keep a close eye on a walking trouble like that.
Tyler Long
Fuck the author, he even forgot about his own story. Red a best!
>It's not necessarily mutually exclusive Technically it would be mutually exclusive. Both language and programming are about communicating something. That means that in both cases there is a recipient. A human can't understand programming (well), that's why programmers are usually expected to add some explanations to the side of their code. A computer cannot understand the English language. While there is some optimization possible within a language (like some people tell you to dispose of every "very" in your texts), switching to a different language altogether will not improve your communication of information, unless the recipient just so happens to be multilingual.
If you are thinking that there is no recipient, that the code itself produces the effect, then you are envisioning a strange fantasy world. And how do you reconcile that with typical coding stuff like defining variables, and calling them up 500 lines later?
By the author of Konosuba seems like an easy sell. Combatants is better though.
Ethan Lewis
I only watched it for the watercolor backgrounds.
Luke Lee
>alphabet of any language IS programming, sort of Not even remotely. Here's the connection: An alphabet is one of the four components of a formal grammar, and formal grammars describe the contents of formal languages. Programming languages are a type of formal language. I wasn't paying attention to your discussion as a whole, and can't be bothered to read it, I just got miffed seeing that line while scrolling, but as a half-hearted contribution to you're discussion based on a guess on my part as to what you're talking about I will note that plenty of ordinary languages are also formal languages but not all are.
Eli King

Nah m8 it's planet of the apes but all the black people died.
it's amazing how a light novel which on paper is such a straight isekai can be so great when you don't do lowest common denominator wish fulfillment shit with fanservice and game mechanics and instead have a unifying theme
>Like every other genre? the problem is that the market is fucking oversaturated with the most basic isekai stories, with at least one isekai each season. The budding subgenre of otomekai will be similarly derided if even half of the otomekai manga out there get anime adaptations.
mecha probably would have been similarly derided had its hayday coincided with the internet age
Joshua Clark
I want a Wai quartet anime
Lyle, Leon, Liam, and autism-Harold just causing hell that and FUNA Quartet
Jonathan Thomas
Isn't FUNA only writes 3 novel?
Leo Morris
I wish there was a straight-up isekai capeshit
>guy who loves capeshit >just saw the latest marvel movie >gets stuck up by an armed robber >"wow this is just like Batman's origin story (except fortunately without parents with me)" >gets shot while fanning out >goes to other world >has a bunch of OP cheats >"guy sent to another world and gets OP cheats by that world? this is clearly Superman's origin" >makes a set of magic armor and becomes a superhero
Angel Thomas
christ, how can you aspire to be a merchant while being so piss poor at negotiation?
Would be nice to see Evil Space Lord get an adaption. Different setting than usual being a sci-fi fantasy. MC comes off more as lawful neutral than evil, and to everyone else he just comes out as good.
Wyatt Morales
He's going to get a merchant's guild trying to destroy him and find out his secrets.
>straight-up isekai capeshit What is Infinity War? Also off, SJW scum.
Jayden Torres
>Isekai Maou >Maou-sama Retry >implying isekai needs to be redeemed Are you one of those faggots I keep hearing about?
Brody Collins
yeah but that's Batman/Lelouch I want the Superman route
Angel Young
I want Faraway Paladin to get adapted and inspire author to keep writing.
Wish manga's art was better. I guess it's hard to compare to LN's art. I wonder what kind of art it would have if it got adapted.
Xavier Price
Programming is just language to get a computer to do what you want it to do. Thus, making magic like programming is just lazy worldbuilding unless it's an Isekai about a video game becoming real life for the protagonist.
Asher Lee
kind of like how they did that in moonled. where MC gets btfo by actual merchants but he just goes "I'm bored of this now, someone else do it" which is a little anticlimactic.
Kevin Reed
superheroes are defined by their supervillains, which is antithetical to isekai's OP MCs. >"guy sent to another world and gets OP cheats by that world? this is clearly Superman's origin" that's not even what defines Superman's origin story.
Brody Fisher
>superheroes are defined by their supervillains not really took years, hell decades, for lot of the rogues galleries to form to the ones we know and love between that you had a lot of random thugs and jobbers.
Jaxon White
And how long did it take for individual superheros to become well-defined?
if it has no adventure guild = good I mean there's RPG elements but then again series like (first half of) Kumo desu ga and Amber Sword had RPG elements and they turned out well
but I've never seen a series with an adventure guild that didn't become generic shit
Noah Hill
>mecha probably would have been similarly derided had its hayday coincided with the internet age to this day the fact that there is so many damn mecha animes makes it hard for me to care about any show if they start focusing on a giant fighting robot thing

He can just grow money so being profitable doesn't matter. He's playing merchant to pass time I guess, it feels so pointless.
Josiah Mitchell
>He's playing merchant to pass time I guess, it feels so pointless. There are so many isekai protagonists that do this. I have no idea why. They suck at it and it's boring.
Hunter Stewart

Jason Thomas
>FUNA only writes 3 novel He only writes one character in every one of them.
Chase Garcia
I'm pretty sure you are thinking of something else.
Isnt that the mentality of escapists? Once they get criticized for their own poor performance they start quitting instead of being responsive.
John Hernandez
Started reading how to not summon a demon lord and I have the sudden urge to rewatch the anime now because Sylvie and Rem are pretty hot. The demon lord is pretty cute too.
>Programming is just language to get a computer to do what you want it to do And magic is just language to get reality to do what you want it to do. It's usually magic language + magic formations. So formal language + algorithms\schemes. >lazy worldbuilding Then I guess 9/10 fantasy magic systems ever are lazy.
Camden Wright
Doesn't read redeeming it's got variety and is perfect as it is. The last thing it needs is west pandering Yea Forums-kun.
Angel Harris
>Once they get criticized for their own poor performance they start quitting instead of being responsive. Well what's wrong with that if you can afford to? If you didn't take any serious responsibilities upon yourself along the line - there's literally 0 issue with giving stuff up when it's harder than you signed up for.
You mean this ? I mean, that post confirmed its defeatist attitude so basically it reinforced my belief. Feel free to keep up the good work.
Connor White
That would make it more surprising though. How did they approach it logically and academically and not achieve sufficient progress that your short exposure to it could produce such grand discoveries that they make your magic "way more powerful, precise and versatile"? You are basically saying everybody but you is fucking retard.
Bentley Jackson
I see much isekai, but no one is praying to the one and only true god, Roxy-sama
I liked how it was handled in Star Ocean 3. Turns out the whole universe from Star Ocean 1-3 was a computer program from technology so infinitely advanced they literally constructed an entire universe to fuck with as gods. The magic within the SO1-3 universe is called Symbology and it's straight up the coding that creates the universe. The ancient Muah people were the folks who found this shit out and started fucking with it, and were mysteriously erased from existence.
I can't be mad when anime/LN do this because it works very well.
Jose Rodriguez
Glorious Nippon Corporate Slaves Folded 1000 Times think it's comfy.

I really liked smartphone, all the girls are so cute and the comfy lighthearted story is just so enjoyable to read.
It can be comfy. But normally it's just jarring. I don't know why I'm complaining though. I've already accepted adventurers' guilds with all their dumb cliches. So why not people trying out their merchant skills.
Luke Carter

Owen Price
>>Proceeds to describe it's at least 1/4 remotely true A formal grammar isn't a formal langauge. A formal language is a set of strings where every valid string "in the language" literally is in the set. A formal grammar is a 4-tuple consisting of a set of rules to generate strings, a set of lexemes to use in the strings, a set of symbols to use in the unfinished strings, and an initial symbol to go into the rules with. A grammar *describes* a language but is fundamentally very different from one.
>What was your point? Just to chim in? >I just got miffed seeing that line while scrolling,
Angel Hall
>that post confirmed its defeatist attitude Oh yeah? Most MC were yes-can-do people back on Earth and look where it got them. There's zero reason not to drop bothersome shit if you can afford to.
>How did they approach it logically and academically and not achieve sufficient progress that your short exposure In most fantasy they did, in isekai locals are often dumbed down for MC to look better, come on. >You are basically saying everybody but you is fucking retard. Yes.
Got too caught up on the math that I screwed up on the linguistics, whoops.
Josiah Morales
I know about the prevalence of this in isekai, I was making a point based on what was actually said in the thread, which didn't take the "all natives are bad at research" cliche into account.
Levi Parker
The yes-can-do people either are confident in themselves or those who love what they are doing. If you just do something you dont care about in the first place it's a waste of time and clearly you aren't thinking ahead. Passionate about something, motivation, clear thinking, etc. there are heartwarming stories about people with those traits yet you choose to read depressing or isekai stories?
I don't mind this trope when it's done properly. You can't expect locals from a medieval fantasy to know how gravity works or stuff like why fire burns for example because those things weren't discovered until hundreds of years later.
Brayden Gray
>depressing or isekai stories Only the brief Earth parts are, when MC has enough leeway to just drop any enterprise and fuck off without any effect on his quality of life - that's not depressing that's a dream for most working populace. >The yes-can-do people either are confident in themselves or those who love what they are doing. I also heard some of them have sex but personally I think it's a myth. What's your point? >Go be a better version of yourself user! Now I wouldn't be here or read isekai, but you're essentially arguing that cutting losses and getting out of stressful business is inherently wrong for some reason. Which is exactly what kills most of isekai MC on Earth in the first place: inability to drop the stressful burden. That some anons, like you, are retarded? I wouldn't call that learning exactly.
Depends if the laws of physics are the same in another world like they are on earth.
Gavin Howard
>or stuff like why fire burns The ancient Greeks had come up with anti-oxygen.
Meanwhile, you still don't know what an oxygen atom actually looks like. So if you're going to conjure it up magically, what exactly would you even try to go for? Something very very small consisting of 8 positive things and 8 neutral ones? But please give me very many of them. Like 1 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 or so. Is that the right number? Sounds right, maybe?

>To go from the elementary description above of curved spacetime to a complete description of gravitation requires tensor calculus and differential geometry, topics both requiring considerable study.
You don't need to go that far, there's no science in medieval worlds and they don't understand modern concepts like the laws of physics or chemistry so basic surface understanding on how these things work and knowing they exist already puts you ahead of the average mage that only understands that screaming FIREBALL will generate a big ball of fire because its magic and magic has no explanation.
David Reyes
eh it's not that bad but it's stuff i don't keep in my mind whoever is bringing this topic up is a total fedora though
Isaac Scott
>basic surface understanding on how these things work and knowing they exist already puts you ahead of the average Examples?
kemono michi is pretty good since it's from the samecreator of konosuba! also there's no hope for it but if there was an anime about that girl that becomes a sex worker in another world it could work.
Jonathan Robinson
user, keep in mind that my original post is to confirm if the issue with escapists is that they quit before they start doing something serious. Your post just struck me as some justification for being an escapist. I mean, that isn't a big deal to me since I dont understand that mentality (as you can see my confusion in the post you replied). So yeah feel free to keep doing what you're used to doing.
Noah Young

image is good but it's wrong to call space a serious frontier. space is literally empty space, there isn't much interesting or remarkable about it but maybe the scale. if you look at sci fi you don't see originality, ship battles have been done before (at ocean), difficult survival in harsh environments has been done before, transhumanism has been done before, etc etc
Joseph Thomas

> Next chapter of Isekai Death Game is going to be the last It feels like axe chan has been claiming series that I love more than usual lately
If now and then, here and there, is an isekai then so is dr. stone. The only difference is magnitude of time travel... which begs the question, is steins gate an isekai? Oh, right, Gigguk answered that - it definitely is. Different worldlines is just another name for different worlds that are very similar. Real question I meant to ask is, what is the minimum time travel for it to be isekai?
Oliver Wright
Steins;Gate isn't isekai. He may reach different world lines, but it's not so much his interaction with the different worldlines that defines the story, but its his actions (and the story) that move him from one worldline to the other. Contrast this with "All of Humanity is Yuri Except For Me", where the protagonist is in a different worldline and has to deal with THAT new worldline.
Benjamin Thompson
Seeing the protagonist have actual fucking friends in Black Iron's Glory is incredibly refreshing, I can't remember the last thing where it wasn't the protag going solo, the protag and his dicksuckers or the protag and his harem in isekaishit.

I can't remember how long it's been since I've read of an actual bromance/friendship in manga.

I recently learned that the word world comes from the two terms "wer" (meaning man) and "ald" (meaning age). The world is the age of man. A new world is a new age of man. So going by the origin of the word "world" you could argue that Dr Stone is isekai.
However, the Japanese language is not based on the English language. So the whole thing falls apart, and you just wasted 2 minutes reading this post.
Sebastian Martin
Well, wouldn't be the first useless thing I've wasted two minutes on in this place.
Camellia is way lower on the charts in terms of usefulness. Aqua at least manages to make herself useful on occasion. Camellia has literally never done a single useful thing in the entire series

Japs really need to throw away the notion of Japan the best and having japanese the need to have japanese stuff being at the forefront of their isekai series be it morals, culture, technology or food. Try to think internationally. Make it interesting before making it to pander.
Alexander Jackson
>Japanese should stop being Japanese Good one, any other smart ideas? It's wish-fulfillment written by and for Japs, they have no reason to "Internationalize" as their target audience simply doesn't either want or care about it.
Aiden Morris
>Japs really need to throw away the notion of Japan the best Why? If you prefer people jerking off over America just read American comics.
Ryan Morris
American comics stopped wanking america a decade ago.
Mason Lee
Well, then they need to start again.
James Ross
they wouldn't do that unless they're intending for their primary audience to be international, which probably won't ever happen.
Lincoln Hughes
They don't but having to pander really is limiting their artistic ability. I'm sure 8/10 artist have interesting ideas but just won't do it. Also you can stop it with japan must suck japanese dick to succeed. The two most popular manga which is One Piece and Dragon Ball doesn't have to pander to jap ideals.
Nice, the world is gonna have more cute, big-eyebrow'd fox spirit people.

Isekai doesn't need to be redeemed, it's arguably the best current genre all things considered, especially if you don't count the otometrash.
Jaxson Morris
Who? Bertia spirit?
Easton Howard
It won't redeem the isekai stuff because it only contributes to the one thing that has made isekai so awful, and that's it that it has become a parody of itself before anyone had the chance of playing it straight.
So making an isekai that is even more a parody of isekai will only contribute to the isekai being even worse of what it currently is.
It failed at the very same thing that fantasy failed, they were more worried to give them a twist to make them different than doing it well, as a result there is more fantasy parody than actual fantasy.
To redeem the genre people should start to take it seriously enough doing something straight, like 12 kingdoms instead of keeping adding random twists.
Before running they should start by walking, do the classic thing, which hasn't really been exploited that much since everyone was so eager to change the classic thing that they didn't realize it hasn't been really done that much.

Kid is thrown into a world of fantasy an magic and he has adventures there, he may try to return home or not.
game mechanics, menus, personal overpowered skills, average knowledge being superuseful, bringing your phone, being able to break magic because you know basic science or know how to program, turning the mc into an onsen, a vending machine or a grapple are just accessory stuff, its just too much toppings that completely outflavors the icecream below.
Connor Edwards
First part is premise 2nd part is trope what the fuck would you like him to do as "adventuring" stare down ham in fridge or something? Of course he's going to go out and do stuff and that stuff inevitably fall under some of the cliches. Because that's what readers want.
But it fulfills the one basic requirement: reincarnated into a world different from the one the MC was originally from. That’s The only requirement for an isekai. It even heavily implies his previous life sucked. But here it’s used to reinforce the themes of death and mortality and faith.
Everything else commonly associated with the genres is to isekai what love triangles and shallow romance and dystopian faction systems are to YA literature. They’re heavily associated with the genre due to the popularity of these tropes but they’re not a requirement, and we’re seeing a rise in a few examples that are critically acclaimed and lack these generic tropes, both for Isekai and YA.
Isnt it interesting that when you don’t BS pandering and instead put thought into your setting and characters you wind up with a phenomenal story?
Noah Anderson

Tensei just requires reincarnation. Whether its a different world or not is irrelevant. Isekai specifically being sent to another world somehow which is why some series are both isekai and tensei.
Blake Thomas

Isekai doesn't require you to be sent in your own body. Isekai and tensei are not mutually exclusive. A series can be both.

Jack Martin
Actually, that one would be very easily explained by the fact that there are individuals with the power to topple nations. It isn't, mind you. Their societies somehow follows mundane rules despite having magic. But realistically, what would happen is that there are no armies. What's the point of a large group of fighters if powerless is exponential, and 10000 soldiers are utterly useless against a single lass with a pointy hat. But if your country's combat potential rests in the hands of a few individuals, then you cannot have a very large country, because there is only so much ground that these few individuals can cover and protect. So you have a feudal society. Might makes right and mini-countries are governed by whoever has the power to conquer them. This is different from historic feudalism since it is independent of notions of nobility, except in such cases where the superpowers in hereditary. Moving on: If there are no large countries, then civilization is going to have trouble progressing. Especially so since one of the main motors for development, military science, is basically nonexistent.
tldr: Superpowers turn your civilization to shit.

Well, until said individuals work together and form a partnership that can overpower any single individual, forming a chain reaction that leads to larger states forming. Not to mention if the density of super powered people are low, then the areas they govern will be beyond what they alone can cover by default. I just want a Kawazu anime, yeah it's wish fulfillment but at least it's an adults wish fulfillment. Living in a magical faerie forest, hanging out at the beach with dragon bro, learning magic from an actual wizard instead of using prior world knowledge to be some overpowered pos, using magic power to be over the top and just have fun with everything.
If there are a handful of people with the power to literally change the landmark, won't it make more sense for them to band together to create a superstate ruled by a council of equals and conquer the rest of the world?

Didn't he even buy those items once to begin with? He should at least have known how much he paid, and I don't think the prices would be that much more. It seems more like he just picked a price based on what he thought they were worth, not what people had to pay.
Kayden Reyes
You can go ToMA and make it so that magic mastery depends on natural laws knowledge, and the MC has arrived in a critical period. Or make a crutch like Practical Guide to Evil and make Fate and Destiny literally a thing.
Angel Watson

"The vivid red spirit power reminiscent of the beautiful core of a higanbana was blooming magnificently around Lily’s body. Her red kimono fluttered like the bird’s wings. Her splendid black hair flew in a sad rhythm in the red melody.
For the time being, even Shiu was entranced by the opponent’s beautiful, charming spirit power blooming in the night." "With labored breathing, Lily covered her voluptuous breasts that were laden with beads of sweat, rolling in rhythm with her pants." "Shiu was like a sapling inside a tornado. All of her clothes, including her stockings, were torn and blown away. Leaving only some strips fluttering in the wind, which clung to the important areas on her porcelain, flawless body. The purple mist attacked her mouth, nostrils, and bare skin directly!" "Excluding the most important privates, Shiu’s front was almost naked. Instinctively she covered her medium-sized breasts and her nether region with a frown. Her eyes turned dreamy as she gasped, cheeks blushing a rosy red." "Lily adjusted her breathing, wiping the fragrant sweat on her hair. Holding the katana, that sparkled with strange runes, she walked toward the girl she had attacked to the point of stripping. With each step, her long, creamy legs were discernible at the slit of her kimono." "Shiu’s blurred eyes looked up at the slim, big-breasted female samurai walking toward her. Her eyes slid from the beautiful but cold eyes that made her heart race, …" "Shiu’s breathing grew hotter, and somewhat aromatic, as she gasped for air. " And that's just one chapter. Imagine 70 chapters translated(1000+ in the source) of this gender bent slut. Even her breathing has been sexualized.
Isaac Green

We don't know yet. If you don't mind speculation, I vaguely recall that the moon path's uniqueness is the moon
so if the sun path's uniqueness is the sun then the Eternal Blazing Sun drank the sun as a potion ingredient and the north and south continents are only receiving "sunlight" because he's acting as a replacement sun for them but if the sun path's uniqueness is not the sun then things are less clear cut. The ancient sun god was not the sun path's god but if he was the shepherd path's god he might have been sequence 1 on the sun path? If so the darkness could be magical-fallout from his death. Another reasonable explanation if the sun path's uniqueness is not the sun is that the darkness is magical-fallout from the Eternal Blazing Sun's sequence 0 ritual.

For now he seems to be going with the flow created by Klein. As long as he doesn't try to steal the gray fog like Amon or kill Leonard, it should be fine.
William Turner
Does Amon know everything about the grey fog or was he just curious from the memories.
Robert Morgan
The only things we were shown is that he heard about Derrick praying to "The Fool" and that his pathway can probably reach or interact with the gray fog (though not on the level of Seers or maybe transmigrators?) while also being one that can "steal" nearly everything. There's just too much going behind the scenes that we still don't know and the author is doing great by fueling it.
Jason Young
All we know is that Amon knows it's related to the Seer path. How much he knows about it beyond that, or even if he knows about it beyond that, is totally unconfirmed. Amon possibly learned about the grey fog from the ancient sun god who possibly used to own the grey fog, both of those details have been speculated in-story by Klein and neither of them have been confirmed yet. In contrast to Amon, Adam seems to know jack shit about the fog but his path doesn't interchange with the Seer path so whatever.
