Okay, I keep hearing this and I’m willing to believe it, but where is the evidence? Did Araki say in an interview that the Ireneverse is not the SBR universe? Citation? If this accurate, it seems like really poor storytelling on Araki’s part because basically the last thing Pucci says before he dies is that if he/Made in Heaven are destroyed before completing their goal, the universe will be changed in a way he can’t predict, and then Emporio is dumped into a world where he meets alternate versions of his friends. And in the part immediately after that, our main characters are shown to be alternate versions of William Zeppeli and Jonathan Joestar. So the reader is only naturally going to be lead to the conclusion that this is the past of the universe Emporio came into.

Its a very personal goal, and while his friendship (or whatever you see it as) with Dio was completely genuine in the end he used the plan for his own goals. He wants to remove the surprice of fate because his entire life was destroyed by unexpected consequences.

Pucci isnt Dio, and he is to be defeaten not by a family who hasnt even wronged him, but by those he destroyed. The joestar legacy/destiny was more or less over by part 3.
Part 4: Hayato, Reimi and Rohan (all of whom are directly harmed or affected by Kira) do all the heavy lifting to bring Kira down. Jotaro and Josuke are there to beat him up but thats it.
Part 5: Giorno is basically just muscle to Bruno's goal, and remains as a lackey for almost the entire part. In fact, its Bruno who defeats Diavolo with his sacrifice, Giorno only gives the finishing blow as he got the arrow thanks to that final play by Bruno
Part 6: Pucci completely outmaneuvers Jolyne and Jotaro at basically every step, its those he personally has history with, starting with FF and Emporio, who seriously give him trouble. The joestars utterly fail to stop him at the end, he faces defeat at the hands of those whose destiny was to beat him: His twin brother whose life he broke and the little boy whose mother he murdered

It’s because of how Made in Heaven works. When Pucci killed people in the first universe, their souls were left behind and didn’t move over to the second universe. When Emporio kills Pucci before the cycle can be completed, the ability is undone and things revert back to the first universe where their souls are, and Pucci’s soul is left behind in the second. Because of fate, nothing changes except for things pertaining to Pucci due to his erasure, just like how Jolyne and co’s erasure from the second universe adjusted fate to make it as if they never existed. Nothing before Pucci’s birth went differently, it’s only things after that which changed.

As for the SBR universe, in author’s notes in various releases of Part 6 and 7 he explains that he was satisfied with Part 6 and for the first time in his career he felt like he’d achieved exactly what he wanted to from the beginning and it was a good end point. This felt wrong to him though because he still wanted to keep drawing JoJo, so he decided that instead of force another sequel on top of a work he considered the perfect ending to ‘return to his origins’ like renaissance artists did by revisiting Greek artistic ideals and do a reboot in a new format (monthly seinen) to keep growing as an artist and writer. So Part 7 is a thematic continuation of the series but untied to Part 6 because he felt completely satisfied with it as a stand-alone story and ending, yet he still wanted to do more JoJo.

SBR was more of a reboot if anything, but Araki decided to rename it as the 7th part of JoJo and to this day people believe if is connected to the ending of Stone Ocean.

It IS the same soul, but what makes you "you" are your life experiences and everything that shaped up your life, your memories basically. If the exact same soul lives a different life, then it's not really that same person you knew. Like how people who get in accidents and forget everything about their lives before the accident are technically the same person but not really them anymore, because they forgot about everything that made them who they were. It's not a difficult concept.
Since Pucci's new universe didn't manage to close before Emporio killed him off, it went back to the original, except it was a universe without his or DIO's influence. What we saw were the very same characters but they had lived lives without said influence, they got to live happy lives, but since they didn't go through the same experiences and memories they're not really the ones we knew as we knew them.

To further explain my point, you know when people ask "would you rewind time 10 years to try again?" ? I always reply no. Because if I had the chance to redo my life in the past 10 years and fix my mistakes, when I got back to this present year all the different circumstances that unfolded would effectively make me a different person than the one I was before. My life taking another course and living it differently would alter my memories/relationships/personality/fears/likes/etc.
Irene is Jolyne, but she lived a different life so she isn't the Jolyne Emporio knew.

I saw an interview where Araki said that he liked making the villains more powerful than the previous ones, and after coming up with Pucci he thought that, this time, the heroes had no way of winning. So, blame him for not wanting to end another part with an unsatisfying asspull against a broken villain.

I feel like this ost as a whole congeals much better with the scenes and characters and story of Part 5 than the ones that came before.
I'm sure most fans want every track to be full of techno bangers like Part 2's soundtrack but I prefer the variety that came later.

I remember that Dio's heaven would give everybody a glimpse of their fates, but Dio would be able to change it. In a way, Dio would be the only one with true and absolute free will in the entire universe, which sounds like something that Dio would call Heaven.

There was no wsy for Made in Heaven and Pucci to change the existence of Jonathan, who lived more than 100 years before their time. He killed Jotaro and Jolyne and that removed them from the next universe (or would have done it, if Pucci hadn't died too). Jotaro's absence in the next Universe might have even meant that Dio could have been still alive. Jonathan died a long time ago, and erasing him from the universe might have caused Dio to never become a vampire.

Then when Emporio uses weather report to kill Pucci, the universe resetting gets fucked up, and the universe is reborn differently. The souls of the dead transfer back to near exact replicas. Nobody can see their future fate in this universe. Everybody who didn't die during made in heaven is relocated safely to the new universe, even measly ants. Pucci is erased though, meaning Weather probably got stolen and hooked up with his sister with no repercussions.
