I always wondered if Inuyasha's father was super popular with demons, why did barely any former comrades help his sons in battle?
I mean you got the flea and the blacksmith guy, but it was implied Inuyasha's father had impressive demon armies that followed his will.
You think some #2 subordinate guy would feel betrayed how his older son at the time didn't help prevent their father's death or feels guilty that their "Lord" died.
Inuyasha could have gotten political as well since in this kind of universe, it was Inuyasha's father that stopped the Mongol Invasion of Japan instead of a Tsunami like in our real life history. Did the Japanese government at the time beg for Inuyasha's father's help?
It makes me wish Inuyasha had more involvement in ancient Japanese society especially the cities instead of limiting interaction to the countryside.

Well, him meeting her before Inuyasha would've been a clash no doubt but he was so fucking bored at that time he would've returned for "a rematch" just because he would've found her interesting.
In the actual timeline of the show I believe that Kikyo talking to Sesshomaru once would've got him interested enough in her.
Keep in mind that Rumiko herself said she was his type, so it all clicks.
