It's the exact opposite of Symphogear S1, which was a production mess but you could feel it had soul in it, and when the final episodes rolled around you could feel the writers and the characters just cutting loose and enjoying the story (Genjuuro punching Fine because she needed it, FUCK LOGIC!). Granbelm is technically solid, even great, but there's nothing else to it. Same copy paste plot, same copy paste archetypical characters. It says a lot that the most enjoyable thing about it was Hikasa's character going more bonkers every time, and even that got stale eventually (and now she's written out). Bland, bland, bland.

I wouldn't mind Elza surviving, but the other two proved they are nothing but monsters that have no concern about killing people, they deserve to die.

The opening fight against Vanessa was pretty well done too. Oddly enough it's the dolls that had some talkingheaditis and stills going on.

It seems to be the last fragments on Carol that were left in her brain, which Elf9 was trying to unlock. The only question now is, was Elf9 supressed and Carol is in full control, or did the two merge together and create the girl that she was before she tried to use Alchemy to destroy the world.

Oh, it didn't. The thing is that it brought back the good parts of GX (Carol's singing voice and the Autoscorer's designs) and fixed everything about them. The Autoscorers act almost nothing like they do in GX here and that's a good thing. When they're not being smug can't-lose-unless-they-want-to antagonists that are spread out episodically, the potential they always had finally shines through.

The episode was perfect in every sense.

Holy shit, Hibiki hitting HANDSOME levels that shouldn't even be possible. Is it any wonder Miku is hooked?

In the latest interview Ayahi was talking about how they were recording the scene where tsubasa slaps maria's hand, and Chris tells her to keep her shit together because Hibiki is.

In the version they were recording at the time Chris was much harsher than in the on-air version, just from her tone. Ayahi went to the staff and told them she doesn't feel right about the scene, because Chris would understand what Tsubasa is going through too. Staff told her they already thought that too and decided to scrap that version.

Carol and dolls were always 10/10 the problem was everything else.

Reminder they basically took a year longer than before just to keep up the quality we are seeing now. I predict there is no way we will suddenly dip into G episodes 11-13 QUALITY thanks to that. Symphogear can have some shitty writing moments here and there, and it's something that you have a particular mindset for, but it's genuinely a passion project for many people at Satelight and god bless them for that, I love that series, more than any other "100% perfect show"

You definitely should just keep in mind the battle system only fully opens up after chapter 3, but it's also for you to get a good grasp of the basics at the beginning. Then it's a lot of fun, feels like a rhythm game doing combos over combos. Character are also very endearing.

Yeah, the amount of respect and influence that the VAs can have on the show is something that would never happen in the west. We already have had to deal with Kermit getting fired because he said the exact same shit. "I don't think he would EVER say that." Instead we have directors that don't care and most of the VAs don't either, or don't have the balls to stand up to the director and say something was shit. Almost all of the bad dub decisions are directors that do takes that are just 'good enough' or VAs that don't want to ruin their voice by screaming or something. It's a shit show of an industry.

The fact that she refers to herself as a sword at all again should have tipped him off.
