The fact that NTR can happen but did so this late is merely a poor justification and an indicator the author is merely being lazy at following a previously established script.

Because of it's the latter, this isn't NTR because the husband is nothing more than a plot device. We rarely see him, we don't know his name, and we don't even get to see his face. There's no way we can get emotionally invested in him. The reader sees him more as an obstacle and annoyance getting in the way of the "good parts".
