Hunter x Hunter

Yorknew City, a mafia crime thriller story, the second or third best arc after Chimera Ants and Succession War arc. From highlight city to the Spiders appearance to mafia massacre. Also Kurapika's first arc with him as the protagonist and his nemesis, the Phantom Troupe as the antagonist. From here we also learn that nen becomes stronger after death and Kurapika's nen abilitie may put his own life at risk in his ruthless pursuit of destroying the Spiders and the Spiders themselves seem not to be heartless and uncaring after all.

One of the best thrillers in manga. I love how it's propelled forward by ever raising tension with mini payoffs, anticlimaxes and misdirections.

You just gotta love a 300 chapters long foreshadowing

Attached: 234523462346.png (946x382, 225K)

For me: this is when YC arc started. It's a nice piece of characterizetion for Hisoka, but also shows readers the glimps of what Yorknew is. Underworld, where you can't trust anyone

Attached: 155563423.jpg (2233x1675, 1.06M)

If a power like Emperor Time has that big of a condition for it's use, How extreme is Chrollos?

Attached: file.png (512x288, 164K)

I love how self-destructive nature of revenge has literal meaning for Kurapika. Nen abilities ofter reflect person's psyche after all

Attached: KurapikaForeshadowing.jpg (1028x787, 506K)

the only thing i dislike about this arc is how the shadow assassins were just created to show off how epic uvo is, only then to job to kurapika chain hacks

>Chain hacks
That drain his life away and would sap his entire lifespan if he used them 5 days in a row

except the cost of Emperor Time is still vague and abstract and relatively inconsequential in a series where there are multiple paths to immortality, or just extended life through spiritual awakening and nen

Why do I feel like by the end of Kurapika's arc and after recovering his clan's eyes, he's going to lose his own eyes/sight as a price for seeking revenge and would most likely have only a few more years left to live after his entire lifespan is wasted away, that's saying he doesn't just straight up die in this arc.

Poetry

hiatus

>Multiple paths to immortality
That would require reaching the Dark Continent and overcoming several calamities just to touch upon a small prize of lifespan lengthening materials that would probably be instantly seized by V5 and only kept for the powerful or auctioned off for insane amounts of cash.
>Extended life through Nen
Only the strongest and most enlightened Nen users can achieve a lifespan lengthening as significant as the chairman, how much longer do you recon he would have lived if he didn't sacrifice himself ?

One of my favorite Spider moment

Attached: Up To No Good Again.jpg (1066x1600, 225K)

>Only the strongest and most enlightened Nen users can achieve a lifespan lengthening
Like Kurapika? with multiple broken powers?

>Hisoka on his way to negotiate with the Phantom Troupe's sworn enemy.

Up to no good again Hisoka ?

Just shows how even Chrollo and The Spider can't restrain Hisoka, truly a wildcard character that cannot be stopped and no amount of rules or laws can impact his next move.

That page finally confirmed for me that Hisoka is without a doubt a sociopath after all. Before that I had my doubts.

Attached: Hisoka backstory.jpg (949x1327, 227K)

I don't think Chrollo gives a fuck to be honest

Attached: Judas did nothing wrong.png (805x429, 372K)

Chrollo probably has better conditions than Kurapika because he is a full blown specialist. Kurapika can use a specialist ability only when he turns his eyes red and that probably adds to the burden. Also technically Chrollo has two abilities (the book and the bookmark) while Kurapika has at least 5 if not more (judgement chain, healing, some kind of clairvoyance, zetsu inducing chain, emperor time, the ability-thief dolphin and the normal chain)

I love how Hisoka looks here

Attached: 1554213.jpg (1485x1114, 980K)

Kurapika isn't necessarily a strong nen user since his Nen requires tons of deadly conditions that would kill him because of the smallest mistake, vs someone like Netero who achieved his strength only through rigorous training and a path in martial arts that's been compared with absolute insanity, don't speedread user, Kurapika is still a nen novice compared to Netero and the likes.

Hisoka as a fake troupe member is a bit confusing to me

If it's just that he faked the tattoo and was never really invited, then surely Chrollo would call him out and kick his ass on the spot.
If he was invited but faked the tattoo, then essentially he is a troupe member that just betrayed them at Yorknew.

That's ignorant, he truly cares about his peers, someone like Hisoka selling them off has resulted in them losing 2 members and Hisoka himself has killed another 2 afterwards, you can see it in his eyes in the current arc that he's just about ready to fuck Hisoka up.

You're mistaken if you think there's any predictability or pattern to nen power or strength.

We literally just witnessed a novice awaken a time traveling ability.

It's poetic that Chrollo was amicable towards Hisoka, even after his betrayal. It refers back to his thoughts about Judas and fate. Chrollo seemed sincere about letting Hisoka back down before their fight.

Attached: Hunter x Hunter - c352 (v34) - p038 [Digital] [LuCaZ].jpg (1400x2100, 728K)

For all men knew at that time, Hisoka was a member of the Phantom Troupe. Deep inside Hisoka, he wasn't a member but some sort of undercover with no loyalty or intention but wanting to fight Chrollo.

Hisoka defeated Nr.4 and took his spot as the rightful member of the Spiders. Then he took the tattoo (faked one) and from here right now tooked many missions with the PT.

Hisoka is a traitor but by then, they didn't care except getting Chrollo his nen back.

What HxH OST do you listen to while reading the manga?

Attached: 385955.jpg (1024x768, 862K)

>A novice
Yeah a novice who's also a genius that makes Pitou's malicious intent look like a joke.
>Predictability
Yes, Kurapika chose the path of revenge and self destruction, his Nen is tied with too many deathly conditions, his raw nen talent is nowhere close to what Netero achieved in his peak.

I like how this theme of Judas, trust and betrayal is so important in YC arc. And i love how in the Chrollo didn't care about dying, claiming that he's worthless as a hostage, because legs of the spider are more important than the head, but Pakunada 'betrayed' Chrollo in order to save him.

I find the vocals in this soundtrack to be extremely weak. I dunno why they chose an amateur when they could've hired a real singer.
Otherwise 1999 had some really cool soundtracks in YC arc. I liked how they captured the underground city atmosphere with jazz-inspired music, especially the big-band score at 5:57. As much as I admire the 2011 score, 1999 seems more fitting for the setting.

>Yeah a novice who's also a genius that makes Pitou's malicious intent look like a joke.
I can't agree, Pitou is a different tier of malice when you get down too it as Tser is just a serial killer with delusions of grandier. He's scary to someone like Theta but she'd be shitting bigger bricks if she met Pitou.

>that translator's note

>Ok then compare his Water divination results to Pitou's,
Not really a factor to me. It's not a water result that I'm basing this on, it's actual actions and intent.
>I'm saying he's much more malicious and his personality is nastier than she ever was.
He's crazy and conceited, but Pitou is a literal murder machine from birth with a penchant for tinkering with the human body to it's limits. Tserriednich would kill me but it will be brutal and quick, Pitou will kill me over hours just to see how long a human can survive without a few major organs including their skin.

There's no comparison in my mind, the cat is a much more malevolent character.

I just don't like 2011fags so I tried my best to sound like a handholdless virgin

So does that prove he would have killed have the Chrollo and half troupe that would have gone after him?

Yorknew atmosphere was top notch. There were some really comfy panels throughout the whole arc.

Hello HunterChads,
here. Sorry I couldn't be around to make the new thread as requested, but I see that the rest of the community took responsibility and served us a fresh new Hunter x Hunter thread.

Although the thread invites discussion around the Yorknew City arc, I would like to share with you my knowledge of classical music and the references to famous works and composers that can be found in the 2011 adaption. I hope you will appreciate it.

First of we have the Zoldyck theme.
youtube.com/watch?v=l8pD9axPmcw

This is a reference to Sergei Prokofiev's "Dance of the Knights" from his ballet Romeo and Juliet, based on the play by Shakespeare. The symbolism here is this: In Romeo and Juliet, the son and daughter of two rivalling families seek to join each other in love, but their families will not permit it. In Hunter x Hunter, Killua is grounded by the Zoldycks, and their butlers refuse Gon to visit him. Compare the OST to Prokofiev's ballet.
youtube.com/watch?v=Z_hOR50u7ek

Trivia: This theme by Prokofiev was also used as basis for Robbie Williams hit song "Party like a Russian" from 2016. A really catchy song with a cool video, featuring a handsome Robbie flirting with hot women and Russian nationalism.

What's the name of the OST at the beginning? This scene alone made me want to actually see if 99 is really only just praised by nostalgiafags or if it was a great adaptation. From what I've seen it's great

They don't even come to our regular threads, we've had 4 threads now hit the bump limit of 500 replies within 4 days and I have rarely seen a falseflagger, it seems like they stay away from our threads which is cool for now.

Accept it, this guy is the best antagonist in the entire series, or atleast will be. He is way more interesting than Chrollo or even Hisoka. This will be the new KING of Kakin, with powers that surpass those of the ant king Meruem, who previously was the strongest character we had seen.
Enter Tserriednich.

Second off we have "Riot", featured when Chrollo Lucilfer conducts the Spiders massacring their way through Yorknew City.
youtube.com/watch?v=wGwKe8xshqg

This soundtrack is a Requiem to Uvogin. A requiem is a mass for the dead, which is a ceremony of prayers. Requiems have some parts in common with the ordinary Mass, such as the Kyrie Eleison, and some parts exclusively found in requiems. Here we have the Dies Ire, the Day of Wrath:
>Dies iræ, dies illa
>Solvet sæclum in favilla,
>Teste David cum Sibylla.
>Quantus tremor est futurus,
>Quando Judex est venturus,
>Cuncta stricte discussurus!

Which can roughly be translated:
>Day of wrath, day of judgement,
>shall consume the world in ashes,
>as prophesied by David and the Sybiles!
>How great will be the quaking
>When the supreme judge arrives
>To strictly inspect us all!

There are many musical settings of requiems, the most famous being my Wolfgang A. Mozart. Written in a baroque style, it does not resemble the HxH soundtrack much. Giuseppe Verdi's requiem is written in a romantic style. Verdi is most known for being an opera composer, and his requiem is famous for being much more dramatic than the more stylistically conservative church music of his peers. This is perhaps the Dies Irae that the HxH soundtrack draws most of its influence from.

Why did Kurapika buried Uvogin’a corpse? Has it to do with nen becoming stronger after death?

Third, we have "The Last Mission" where Netero starts fighting Meruem, crashing the ground making them both fall into a massive underground hall. Here, Netero says: "This place is a tomb. Your tomb."
youtube.com/watch?v=yfR9haRPlSc

This is a musical setting of the Kyrie Eleison, another part of the requiem. (The Kyrie is also featured in the Mass). It is a prayer:
>Kyrie eleison,
>Christe eleison,
>Kyrie eleison.
Which means:
>Lord, have mercy,
>Christ, have mercy,
>Lord, have mercy.

The Kyrie Eleison is fitting for Netero's fight against Meruem. Netero's fighting power comes from praying. Although Netero prayers are in gratitude, his combat style is built upon mercy. This however he laments in his battle against Meruem, recognizing that to defeat his foe he must be utterly ruthless and show no mercy whatsoever. The dynamics are then flipped, as Meruem, stunned in admiration of Netero's commitment to his ideals, displays mercy towards Netero and humankind by praising Netero and offering humanity to live in a secluded preserve protected by the chimera ants. As Netero throws aside any mercy he may have had for the ant king, he simultaneously denies himself any mercy offered by his nemesis.

Simply based

Attached: 1552145442585.jpg (800x853, 328K)

A simple act of respect. Not for Uvogin but for the dead. Kurapika isn't the type to leave corpses lying around.

I'm not even sure Pika knows about nen after death. His teacher never mentioned it and he's never encountered it. It seems like a fairly obscure thing in universe.

Kurapika gets a new ability
>it's a fucking dolphin
>steals hatsu's
>has a St. Peter's cross on it's back

Attached: 2345254156.jpg (800x800, 229K)

In cute pajamas.

A lot can be said about the allegories to religion in HxH, but I will try to focus my analysis on the OST for now.

I'd like to bring some attention to Pouf's themes, especially since I think Pouf was one of the most complex characters in the entire Chimera arc. The first is "In the Palace - Lamentoso". I love how this theme is introduced in the anime by actually showcasing Pouf playing the theme himself on a violin (how he found that in the middle of NGL, I have no idea.) This reveals a lot about his character development in a single theme; finesse and intelligence, a somber theme for solo violin symbolising the sole burden he takes upon himself as he decides to protect the King from his soft humanity; a task that he cannot share with the other Royal Guards due to their stark differences in personality.
I also love how this theme is developed upon and used in full orchestra version later in the series.
youtube.com/watch?v=hBFP8NOx8rY

The other theme, "In the Palace - Agitato" is again played by Pouf personally in the anime in episode 108:
www5.kissanime.asia/episode/hunter-x-hunter-2011-episode-108/?server=rapidvideo
After Pouf almost kills Komugi, he is instantly filled with shame, as he realizes that doing so would mean ensuring that the King remains undefeated in gungi. The depth of the thoughts that lie behind his (in)actions, and the rawness of his emotions are expressed directly as he grabs the violin in despair.

The musical subject for Agitato is heavily based on Vivaldi's violin concertos, quite specifically the third movement of "Summer" from his "Four Seasons".
youtube.com/watch?v=zzE-kVadtNw&t=17m54s
Vivaldi was known as a great violin virtuoso of the Baroque period, and The Four Seasons are a staple in any professional solo violinist's repertoire. Vivaldi actually founded an orphanage where he taught music and formed a rather successful string orchestra with children, a noble and unique feat at the time.

why all this wankery over a shonenshit manga?

Here's the Agitato theme
youtube.com/watch?v=aAxNOyV6db4

Oh, and while talking about violin themes, I just want to bring up Senna from Bleach:
youtube.com/watch?v=d6KU3FsOlr8
which is actually directly taken from J. S. Bach's "Toccata and Fugue" in D minor BWV 565:
youtube.com/watch?v=d5O8cHI-vPY
Which remains one of the most quoted works of classical music found in popular culture. I'm actually surprised we haven't heard more Bach references in HxH, seeing that Bach was the undisputed master of musical symbolism. But I digress.

It is known

What do you mean?

I had planned to get some work done this evening, but Hunterchadposting takes priority.

Next up is the soundtrack of Bonolenov Ndongo fighting in the nest of chimera ants. This track is aptly named "Rhapsody On The Theme Of Holst". Holst who, you ask? Gustav Holst, of course, and the theme is "Jupiter, Bringer of Jollity" from his orchestral suite "The Planets". As you may remember, "Jupiter" is the finishing move in Bonolenov's combat suite "Battle Cantabile". The theme also incorporates Holst's "Solar, Bringer of Light" and is featured when Feitan unleashes his devastating Scorching Sun.

Say what you want about the 2011 adaption, but the musical references in the OST are on point.

Apologies, Feitan's ability is of course called "Pain Packer". But it's a sun that scorches the enemy, so I'm sure you understood what I was referring to.

Is that so?

I'll spare you every direct beat, but it begins with bright stage lights and the boat departing at night and cuts through scenes/factions on the boat in different tiers with bustling boat life. 1:24 is a simulated banquet dance with the different princes and their parties. 1:35 for instance would have Theta and Tse dancing with the tone growing darker like she's in peril. 1:48 goes into Nasubi looking serious on his throne, some flashes of the pot and ancient Kakin and a bubbly transition. 1:55-1:59 Ends the intro outside the boat at day, when a dolphin leaps into the air and freezes in the sky with those weird seagulls in the background next to the logo.

When you think about it, the Chimera ants are kinda cute and amusing. I wonder how they live in the Dark Continent with all those other animals and creatures.

Tell more about the themes and narrative of the Yorknew City arc.

jesus never considered himself a worthless human nor his sacrifice.

pakunada did it to save the man she loved
judas did it for 30 shekel

I'm kind of a.. polymath/Renessaince man, actually. I'm trained as a classical pianist and conductor, physiotherapy and emotional therapy. I'm also a monk, teaching Ascension meditation in accordance with the Ishaya tradition of The Bright Path. So when I'm not reading Hunter X Hunter and contributing to HxH appreciation on Yea Forums, I conduct choirs, tutor children in piano playing, aid musicians with healthy posture and technique (lots of musicians struggle with physical pain due to overstraining small muscles in their hands, arms, neck and shoulders), help people heal emotional trauma, relieve stress and find inner peace, contentment and purpose in their lives. My goal in life is to join all of these arts and sciences together in my conducting, creating musical experiences that can liberate people of their limitations physically, emotinoally, mentally and spiritually, as well as developing a school for conductors where I can methodically train them to do the same. Meanwhile I'm currently studying the resurging sexual art of tantra and taoic alchemy, practicing sublimating my sexual energy by abstaining from ejaculation so that my body may break down the nutrients contained in sperm to nurture my brain (known as Brahmacharya). Did you know that the body requires as much energy to create a drop of semen as it requires for 90 drops of blood? For example, a single ejaculation releases three days worth of magnesium by standard diet. That's a lot of life force you're losing each time you ejaculate. No wonder all the mystics and sages of old warned us against masturbating. Fortunately my girlfriend supports this path, and abstaining from ejaculation means we're now able to have sex for hours and hours. I'm currently on day 17 of no-ejaculation and I'm feeling really, really good.
I don't want to hijack this Hunter x Hunter thread, and I'm not a big fan of tripfagging either. But I'll be around for a bit longer if you want me to share any insights I've come across.

dude... CRINGE.

Holy shit absolutely based, it seems like you have experienced a lot, how old are you if you don't mind me asking, and sorry if that question is rude, it's just that you sound very mature and wise, we need more Hunterchads to be as enlightened as you.

Grow up

judas wast japanese, killing one self doest remove your sin.
he hanged himself cause he knew he would never truly repent.
A filthy traitor

I don't find the question rude at all, after all it can sound like a lifetime's accumulated experience. I'm actually 25, turning 26 this November. People often assume I'm much older, even IRL, apparently because of my mature presence. It helps being innately attentive and soaking in experiences and impressions, and having an insatiable drive to transcend my limitaitons. I like shounen manga/anime because the themes of mastering esoteric skills, overcoming challenges and transcending limitations that no one thought possible, resonate a lot with me. Over the last year, I've become more and more attuned to energy fields, and I can literally feel people's emotional energies radiating from them. In other words, I can sense what kind of emotional state people are in simply by the frequency of their presence. This also has the downside of being extremely uncomfortable whenever someone is angry and directs their anger at me; it's like I'm being under attack. Shounen depitions of "aura" and "aura attacks", like Hisoka keeping Gon and Killua out of floor 200 in Heaven's Arena through malicious aura alone, while seemingly pure fiction at first, is now something I can relate to. I'm going to actively explore using energy fields in my work as a conductor. I will work on expanding my energy field so that it can fill the hall of an audience. I think that will have a dramatic effect on their musical experiences.

Hmm either works. I read it after but nothing crazy

I put it after 343.

Is the Succession War arc some sort of spirtual sequel to Yorknew City arc? In both arc, Kurapika is the protagonist, both the Spiders and a Mafia family appears in it and both forces a situation where Kurapika has to make some hard choices.

I'm planning to read Yorknew & Succession arcs back to back to see similarities and differences.

Watch 2011. If you like HxH, then read the manga from ch 340

Also, Berserk and Mizukami's are better.

I've read the manga & I enjoyed the battle scenes more in the anime. Another plus is the OST. You can always read the manga from Ch.1 if you want after.

Good news VIZanon & Hunterbros, Mangalife
deleted some mangastream chapters and brought chapter 371-380 back in Viz version/format, only 25 minutes ago.

If you excuse me I gonna reread those 10 chapters.

What is Theta, Morena, Bisky, Cammy?

I wasn't sure about Oito nor was I sure if you guys would consider Oito to be badass.

Why chapters 381-390 hasn't been uploaded yet?

Kurapika's future wife is badass.

>Used goods

Implying Nasubi's micropenis and an underweight child is enough to leave a permanent mark, no user.

>underweight
Wobble is fat as fuck

Not necessarily that, but he had no idea what Hisoka was up to, and didn’t have a reason to suspect that Hisoka was actively working against them. It just shows how much Chrollo trusts his family, the troupe.

Chapters 381-390 are there but I'm not sure if they're mangastream or viz. I don't remember but if you like I can check them out for you.

What if Oito dies and Kurapika adopts Wobble who becomes the one that saves him from this life of revenge and self destruction that he chose.

There is a reason why she's named Wobble.

Wobble Bobble

>"underweight"
Kek, if americans consider that to be "underweight" i don't want to see whats normal for them.

Neferpitou is far more human than Tserriednich. Her body reanimated itself through sheer willpower to protect the one to whom she’d sworn absolute loyalty to. I doubt Tse truly cares for anyone or anything, and we’ve seen that all he lives for is his selfish desires.

Damn shame but hey who knows? Maybe they are going to update those chapters back to viz version.

I assumed she was underweight when she was born which is why she was fed so much that she is fucking fat now, that and the fact I don't want to cope with Oito's pussy being stretched from that fat fucking abomination crawling out of it.

Haha, but how did you that silly user was an American?

fat stupid baby

Togashi don't have the balls to kill a child, he already revive Gon and Hisoka

She won't die before her nen best is revealed, which begs the question, what IS her nen beast ?
To answer that question is to delve into the meaning of The Succession War itself, a baby has no desire to rule, and that goes for the younger princess aswell such as Momoze and Marayam, yet they both have nen beast, their nen beasts are characterized by being very imaginative and random instead of having a clear purpose like the older princes, so what do you think a baby's purpose in life is ? The answer is simple, to survive, by protecting itself, it's mother, and perhaps Kurapika, someone that Wobble might be viewing as a father figure as seen from their interaction, we merely have to speculate how the desire to survive can translate into a nen beast and we're there.

>Who pees while in hostile territory
You do Hisoka

Yeah, that's never really fully addressed either. I'd say it factored more into how he's had to change himself and who he's dealt with in order to retrieve eyes, even if the pair ended up being a copy. It was also how Kurapika began his real journey and got his foot into the underworld.

I dont get it why do the hunter association let the spiders do as they please? They have a literal crime hunter who clearly should arrest them.
Literal Mary sues.

They're very strong.

Netero was the Chairman and Shalnark was a Hunter

You're an odd duck user, but you seem like an alright fella

Because most hunters are cucks who couldn't do shit to them?

Attached: ptbounty.png (182x266, 47K)

It's really weird that V5 didn't order Netero to do something about them

>Hisoka is on pair with the spiders
>The Hunter Organization tries to arrest Illumi during the Election arc
>Hisoka singlehandedly kills an army of 100ish hunters
maybe they know their limits?

Why? The only thing they order the HA to deal with is world scale threats like the CA or Beyond going to the DC.

Still, they create a lot of chaos, kill hunters and stuff

Yeah that part was fucking bullshit and made me dislike the election arc a bit.

Why should HA go after the Spiders? They aren’t that much of a threat, world wide that is and they are everywhere in the world.

Yes they are.
>Shalnark was a Hunter
So what?
Shut the fuck up already.
Why should they and they can’t just order Netero around. Also Spiders are someone else problem.
Most of them were amateurs and temp hunters.

They didn’t killed that much of hunters but mostly dozens of police officers and other peace keeping forces.

The biggest bit of chaos in the series I can think of involves the Kurta, who the world governments wouldn't care about, and the mafia, who were all more or less criminals.

>Shalnark was a Hunter
One of the big plusses of being a Hunter was that you could do anything as long as you are "hunting" something. There are of course hunters who wouldn't like that and correct it themselves

Both Hisoka and Illumi were pro hunters, so you could it was: Hunters x Hunters

I wonder how shalnark exam looked like and if he made any friends during the exam.

Is adorable.

Right now, the character who has the most reasons to kill Tse is Theta. Unless Tse kills Sentitsu or Izunavi, I doubt Pika will be the one to kill him.

A beautiful way of living, user. Hope you can achieve your objectives.

>circlejerk the thread

welcome to Yea Forums

this is seriously one of the most hype ending themes in anime.

i seriously hope to be proven wrong

>Most of them were amateurs and temp hunters.
Temp hunters are still hunters

>Neferpitou is far more human than Tserriednich.
That doesn't make her any less cruel though? I don't think you're understanding the difference here. Tserriednich is just a serial killer at the end of the day, a narcissist with delusions. Neferpitou was designed and bred to serve her kind and was perfectly happy to commit genocide to accomplish that.

Hell, Morena is closer to Pitou than Tserriednich because she just wants to fuck everything and built an ability whose sole function is to spread death and destruction like a virus.

Is it possible to use conjuration to create a human being? I.e., not an emitted clone, but a living, eating, sleeping, nen-generating human with its own will? Presuming you would be willing to go as far as you need to with the condtions to achieve it.

Attached: google images.jpg (602x339, 131K)

humans are worthless
no need for more of them anyway

holy shit kill yourselves, like yeah it's a good arc but you fuckers will talk about anything from this manga as the second coming of christ

I believe you could, but you'd need a lot of knowledge about human biology. And even then, you might have to inbue large amounts of aura in order to spark and maintain its life for a while.

>their nen beasts are characterized by being very imaginative and random instead of having a clear purpose like the older princes
I disagree, Momoze did have a desire to rule as seen in the one monologue she had before dying. But she also has a weak will for herself, when her mother was taking her guards away she didn't resist or voice her own objections. One thing to note is that so far, virtually all the princes with a stated desire to rule the kingdom are manipulators or have manipulation abilities for their nen beasts.

Camille, Tserriednich, Sale-Sale, Halkenburg and Momoze all had some component of control for their ability. I'd also wager that Benjamin's guardian spirit has a manipulation component as well. But for Momoze, her GS asks for permission before taking over "Are you free?" "got a minute", pretty easy to imagine her thinking these words whenever she really wanted something but instead just sat by passively.

Maryam is much easier to understand. Like Biscuit pointed out the stress of his sister dying did get to him. So his Dragon bulked up and developed a pocket dimension. The perfect safe space for a scared child and truthfully, of all the princes he's the safest so far until something manages to drag him back to reality.

If Kacho's Guardian Spirit fullfills all your conditions it would probably require one person to trade their life to create another aura generating construt.

I literally cannot think of a single reason people wouldn't like Gon unless they're jealous incels, bros.

Here's the orders I find preferential
>Manga
This is the order where you don't miss anything, as it's the manga. There's also a prequel labelled as Volume 0, which should be read after the Yorkshin arc.
>1999 -> Yorkshin + GI OVAs -> Manga
1999 only skips one fight. You can also read the manga for GI instead, as there is a mixed opinion on the GI OVAs. I personally found them to be good, just not as good as what came before.
Get the EncoderAnon release for the 62 Episode 1999 series, he also did an Encode for the Yorkshin OVA. Both are on nyaa.
GI OVAs can also be found there, and the entire series is on youtube as well. English subbed, of course.
>1999 -> OVAs -> 2011 starting from Episode 76~ -> Manga starting at 340
I don't recommend going into 2011 first. It cuts out a lot of stuff early on, and while 1999 has more filler, only 2 episodes of filler are really all that bad and they happen early on (first arc).
2011's adaptation of CA and Election are fine though.
Also, I recommend purchasing the volumes. Scans never do the real thing justice.

Why are you telling him to waste his time?

True. He's a ladies man after all.

I've seen some "drafts" around and they look off-putting.

Those were all fixed in the final release, the art is simplistic but the paneling work is where it's at, not many mangaka are as good as Togashi at paneling.

>I'm sure Kurapika will agree
The fact that he's not doing that means he doesnt.

Depends

Attached: 0018-021.jpg (1066x1600, 176K)

Kurapika-chan was just never introduced to the idea, with a little bit of convincing it'll go as smooth as butter!

Did anyone felt sympathy for maffia or any assassin that got brutally killed by the Troupe?

Kurapika can't repopulate the clan if he only cares about dick, I guess that's the end for the Kurta clan.

Attached: 1565829722298.png (1080x715, 1.01M)

Chrollo has heavy conditions to prevent him starting it. Kurapika has heavy conditions to make him stop using it.

boys (female) can get pregnant too user!

Nope.

Lol no. Did you?

Attached: PeITMxi.jpg (1920x1080, 93K)

A little bit, how they stood no chance against the Spiders and getting slaughtered in dozens while screaming in agony. Three times! Also Kurapika and Nostarde were part of the mafia, so you could see them as allies getting killed.

But they are as bad as the Phantom Troupe.
No doubt they've killed many innocent people too.

Yes but that time I was not thinking
about the innocent people they killed in the past but at the moment seeing all those mafia members getting killed, made me feel a litt bit sympathy for those poor bastards.

2300+ deaths huh? What a waste...

Do you want me to post
moments where they're getting BTFO?
I have those chapters if you want.

Attached: DIE .jpg (996x971, 280K)

There is a big misunderstanding about the "Hisoka and Illumi killed 100 hunters" stuff. Among the squads that were tasking to hunt Illumi, there were only a handful of actual hunters (one per squad). The other were AMATEURS hunters. Like Kite's buddies or Killua when he hadn't his hunter license yet. Amateurs hunters are not pro hunters. They work for pro hunters but don't have a license (because they're too weak, or because they plan on taking the hunter exam next year, etc...)

Thank god user,
I remember I also saw a pistol among the dead bodies.

I don't get what the point of the phantom troupe is. Who are they? Why do they exist? Who are they opposing? Why?

They just seem like some random "le bad guy, but morally grey" team shoved into the story at random. They are cool and fun to watch/read, but they seem less than important to this world. The entire world would continue moving on without them, and they seem to have 0 goals other than "follow this faggot with a christ complex."

>The entire world would continue moving on without them
So you want the Akatsuki 'le lets dominate the world" type of story?
The entire world of HxH would continue moving on without anyone. Gon had zero importance for the world of HxH, for example

I don't mean it that way. It's just they seem to be some opposing force, except they aren't opposing anyone. They are basically the equivalent of a bunch of pre-teens pretending like they are in a gang.

>Who are they?
A band of powerful thieves and bandits.
>Why do they exist?
They have a story and relation to Kurapika and Hisoka.
>Who are they opposing?
Kurapika and later Hisoka
>Why?
Because they destroyed Kurapika's people for scarlet eyes and they want to kill both Kurapika and Hisoka for killing two of their members respectively.
>but they seem less than important to this world.
But the world don't care about them and vice versa.
>The entire world would continue moving on without them
But the entire world continues to move regardless with or without anyone.

HxH is a terrible manga, how can anyone read it?

> pretending like they are in a gang.
But they are a part of a gang. Also they are band of thieves.

Based
no MC or any member of the phantom troupe actually matters, they are just a groupe of thieves and that's it, nothing more nothing less, why do people always expect the PT to be the type that will destroy the world and have to be stopped by all costs ... no, that's not how it works, they are relevant for Kurapika and that's it.

Oh shit really ? I guess HxH is trash now, time to stop waiting for chapters and just drop it, thanks for opening my eyes user.

Attached: Hanzo.png (1104x720, 192K)

I know your just being sarcastic but seriously. How can you read HxH?

Attached: 1561878913836.gif (491x592, 414K)

>Extremely high quality writing
>Unique and very deep characters
>Very rich story with intriguing and complex themes
the only downside I can see used as an argument is,
>Art
>Hiatus
Both of which are repectively bad arguments and don't influence the story/plot.

After because you need to know about Meteor City and their policy in order to make sense of the message the spiders left.

Is it just me or this guy was too cocky? Does he even know who he's talking to?

Yes, he knows who he's talking to and that
makes him too cocky and arrogant for his own
good.

You are the perfect exemple of someone who hasn't read or watched HxH and lets his opinion be influenced by shitposting strangers on Yea Forums, do yourself a favor and go judge it by yourself, don't let seething falseflaggers impact your opinions, outside of Yea Forums shitposting HxH is a highly respected classic.

Based Mizai, really cares about Kirapika

(not powerlevel related questions but)
How strong is Gyro?
How strong is Pariston?
How strong is Beyond?
How strong is Gin?
How strong is Maha?
How strong is Silva?

Shalnark is a founding member. It was confirmed by Pakunoda when she shot him.

>How strong is Gyro?
Stronger than average humans
>How strong is Pariston?
Very strong
>How strong is Beyond?
Very very strong, above Hisoka and somewhere below papa Netero.
>Top 5 nen users.
>How strong is Maha?
Strong as Netero
>How strong is Silva?
Stronger than Chrollo but below Netero.

He more than likely simply stole a Hunter licence.

Nope, he is a hunter and he passed the exam.
Shalnark's name showed up during the Chairman Election.

It makes him look cool and gives him more character. It's like with Meruem, he can kill you, yet he compassionate and merciful enough to spare your life, just because

Nice.

>Silva stronger than Chrollo
Chrollo was fighting both Zeno and Silva while holding back, come on

Attached: chrollo cute.jpg (257x240, 40K)

Hisoka looks so ugly in the 99 anime.

Shit I confused Silvia with Zeno.

I don't understand the message in this context, did the Kurta Clan take something from Meteor City? Or is it just a "We know you can't touch us" brag

Kurapika is wasting his own time because he had him chained from the beginning and yet continues to fight for no reason after that. Kurapika himself said that he added the condition only after so he didn't have it back then and that explains why he's playing around wasting life span, it's just headcanon from speedreaders who want to pretend like this is something Togashi came up with from the very beginning while it's obvious he just added it recently like with Chrollo's bookmark

I came across the HxH oneshot by Sui Ishida earlier and realized I haven't read it yet. Do you guys treat it as canon?

Attached: hisoka.jpg (900x1274, 174K)

sui ishida is a hack who ruined his only notable work and now lives in shame

>Do you guys treat it as canon?
No.
It's also looks like Togashi's art when he was ill

Attached: 1550230707982.png (836x1200, 596K)

Form your own opinions and read it yourself. Its alright, only Chrolofags hate it.

They killed exactly 26 hunters

Yes, it implies that the Kurta took something from Meteor City and the Troupe only retaliated.

>Its alright, only Chrolofags hate it.
Why would they?

Its filler

Couldn't handle the Hisochad getting the spotlight.

Attached: hisoka rapemode activated.gif (480x270, 442K)

besides that, ishida is probably togashi's biggest fanboy

Attached: togashishida.jpg (1308x400, 231K)

at least he had the dignity to end it as soon as possible, even though it stil sold solid without a noticeable drop. guy just couldn't handle the weekly deadline and refused to take breaks, one can admire his work ethics but he's still at fault here

Attached: 1776534.jpg (1146x1200, 277K)

Part 1 was good. I think he got burned out.

No, it's non-canon.

This, thank goodness.
15 temp hunters + 8 pro hunters + Bushidora and Terradein.
The 8 pro hunters is great loss while 15 temp hunters, fat faggot Terradein and cocky Bushidora are plebs and can die like the trash they are.

Based user, thanks to you I don't hate the Election arc anymore and my mind is clear and free now.

Halkenburg's nen beast be like
>damn son would you stop doing that stupid shit, that bullet would kill ya you dumbass

Being Halkenburg's nen beast is suffering

Gon may be a grown-up, but Killua is the real stud.

Hunterchads

Imagine Killua at 18.

Soon

Attached: HxHDarkContinentFauna.jpg (1734x811, 1.45M)

Imagine Killua-san ripping Illumi and Hisoka to shreds.

Wow, I actually never noticed Netero and his two companions standing on the cliff in the foreground. That place is HUGE. I can see how it would take a pro hunter just to survive the fauna. Especially considering how the chimera ants are native to the DC.

Watch youtu.be/H2f97lndyiM

What are the chimera ants doing in the DC at the moment?

dont worry tse wont be the only one with future eye power

Attached: 01.jpg (891x1300, 797K)

Bushidora and Terradein were pro hunters dude. Bushidora even was a Single Star Blacklist hunter, so probably a beast in terms of combat abilities. And Terradein was a genuinely nice guy who wanted to ban criminals and psychopaths from the HA and probably forbid psychos with criminal records to atempt the exam. Which would have been a good thing. Netero was mad. I love this guy but he was mad as hell.

Unknown. All we know is that the human sized queen was from the dark continent.

You forgot the Porcellio like beast on the left and the one that gets eaten by the plant, is the same animal that's next to the elephant-type looking creatures. Please pay more attention to the details, user.

>Which would have been a good thing.
Did you not understand the point of them getting killed off? You don't want law enforcement to go after criminals they can't expect to beat. You are only wasting valuable lives by trying to fight people like the Spiders or the Zoldycks.

They could honestly just be the size of ants, but i'd like to see some massive ones. There is also no guarantee that they can communicate and are just ruthless killing machines

DC is just a meme set-up by Togashi you retards, he will never be able to fully explore the continent. He created that place to make Alluka not look like an asspull and give the Chimera Ants a place where they originate from.

Bushidora and Terradein were pro hunters sure, but Terradein was more of a bureaucrat (he probably got carried during the exam) than field hunter and while Bushidora was a Blacklist Hunter, he was still too cocky and reckless which got him killed. Terradein was genuinely nice guy sure but he was also a fool, naive and incompetent. He didn’t listen to Morel and got other people and himself killed. Netero was mad yes and like you I loved him too but Netero nevertheless had the heart in the right place.

Normal chimera ants are actually much smaller, kite states no bigger than 10cm. The queen that washed up in the story was abnormally large for her species.

Fuck. Togashi too kino for my eyes. i'll fix it later

They are the size of regular ants but how do they live and what are they doing among the giant creatures? If they can’t get a prey than their ability of phagogenesis is a wasted potential.

Dark Continent > Sothoryos

We have no idea how Bushidora got killed.
Perhaps Hisoka's ability was an extremely bad match-up for him (just like Hisoka's ability would completely nullify Bonolenov's ability or Shizuku's ability if they fought, which is why Bono and Shizuku prefer to let Chrollo and the other hunt Hisoka, because their abilities are not suited to fight him).
Perhaps he actually put up a very good fight against Hisoka and was close to win. Perhaps he would have won against Hisoka if they fought in an other area (let's not forget that Hisoka's efficiency is like multiplied by 100 when he's fighting in a forest or in any environment with a lot of obstacle to stick his gum).

The only thing we know about Bushidora is that he was not only a Blacklist Hunter (hunters specialized in combat) but also a Single Star Blacklist Hunter (meaning he accomplished a tremendous feat as a blacklist hunter). That alone is enough to ascertain his strength.

Shut the fuck you insolent faggot.

Guys
Imagine a Calamity that is a sexually transmitted parasite that makes the male host emit a pheromone that makes all women in a 10 kilometer radius flock to the male desperate to mate with him
And image that Leorio somehow catches this during his studies on the Dark Continent
And Cheadle and the snek lady has to find a way to cure him from the parasite while resisting the urge to mate with him, while the other Zodiacs fend off the horde of women rushing towards Leorio
Meanwhile Leorio is flustered, excited and morally confused about the whole ordeal
Man wouldn't that be fun ha ha

nice counter argument, you little slut

Togashi didn’t create DC only for Alluka and the chimera ants, you fat whore. He wanted a reversed situation with the humans as the colonists and invaders and exploring a new continent for resources.

Okay then user, I take my words back about Bushidora. I realize now that his death is also a tragedy and a waste of good talent. But what I said about Terradein stands. But you made a good argument about Bushidora.

Is that why he only immediately after the CA ended, introduced us to the DC and its connection with Nanika and Chimera Ants? Why didn't he foreshadow the DC way earlier into the series? Could it be that he made shit up as he goes?

Are there any king kongs in the dark continent? Giant apes who can kill their prey with one blow?

Shit user, I don’t know.
I can take it anymore, my brain is hurting and I tremble...

btw thanks to kurapika judgement seal been stuck into his heart, that make him immune to manipulation nen type attacks right?

Isn't the Dark Continent stated to be the place of origin of the Chimera Ants by Kite or Morel? During the NGL part of CAs?

No, it was stated by Ging and Cheadle during the preparations to the DC arc.

Did the Chimera Queen swim from the edge of Lake to Mobius to the known world?

Attached: file.png (695x386, 210K)

Seethe.

Attached: DC foreshadowed.png (707x1574, 570K)

I've been thinking about what the HxH world looks like and all i've got at the moment is just land with 1 water source. And a pretty big planet

Not really, the chain is what is being manipulated by his aura not his body or mind. Self manipulation would be more like what shalnark did.

I really liked these designs

Attached: 95D761BB-36E1-4B81-895B-5E7993E37D78.jpg (983x1000, 983K)

I think remember someone saying "Dark Continent" at some point in Chimera Ants, but maybe I am wrong. However:

1) The world map was always "the real world's continents but scrambled around".
2) The Antarctica land mass was missing, and Antarctica is now the Fake Dark Continent.
3) The first page of the manga refers to " unexplored frontiers" and one of those places is drawn in the DC doodle map.

It is possible that the DC always existed but it was just another landmass that didn't show up on the maps and was the Antarctica equivalent. Togashi might have changed it to what it is because it seemed cooler later on and the original clue (Antarctica) is unusable due to this change.

Plus, there are clearly some ideas from.the Election Arc that were in the manga since forever. For example, the fifth Zoldyck sibling is referenced 270 chapters before Alluka shows up. And you could even guess her name and rough age based on their namin pattern.

So.. is this Dark Continent or not?

Attached: 1552341.jpg (2500x1876, 1.61M)

How does the world at large not know about Nen?

Maybe it was meant to be the Dark Continent at that point in the manga, but then Togashi read Toriko and realized that he could make the Dark Continent even stranger with the current set up.

But as of now, it seems impossible given that dialogue implies that Ging hasn't been to the DC yet.

the sales for volume 36 will be very interesting.

Why?

It is considered just a type of martial art. They live in a world were talking animals can turn themselves into people, so nen and related shit are not so exceptional. Plus they can see only the effects of the nen like punching a wall into pieces or controlling objects with the force of the mind, so it's not so simple to recognize it as a single discipline.
So why Nen it's not more widespread? Simply put, it is because it's very hard to learn. In our world there are people capable of this:
youtube.com/watch?v=7qHL2PSpecI
but to the best of my knowledge, you'll never seen an entire army composed of shaolin monks, even because a gun is pretty much more dangerous than a kung fu master (often nen too is less dangerous than regular fire guns).
So nen, for them, is just a pseudo magical martial art, certainly very strong, but not so much that establish a new world order completely different from ours.

Attached: 1557136008705.jpg (535x403, 105K)

not the most exiting chapters for me personally.

And so will we, still not knowing how this arc will end.

Volume 36 released last year, and sold incredibly well.

Attached: 1550212986949.png (515x861, 47K)

Oh they were fucking for sure, not doubt about it.

The current explanation is that:
1) Most Nen users aren't particularly impressive. Many don't even have a Hatsu and even in the HA the average Hatsu is shit like "I can Manipulate small animals 1 at a time". Note that even the Nostrade bodyguards were above average Nen users and they weren't imprevious to bullets and had Hatsu like " kiss a single target to control him for five minutes".
2) Most Nen users know less about Nen than our MCs. ie. Things like In and Ko are not well known even amon Nen users. If we go by Heaven's Arena, maybe even Efficiency Rates are somewhat obscure.
3) Some humans can use Nen without knowing, and even develop Hatsu without learning Nen. This makes the average Nen user even less impressive and leads to many people thinking that you can just be born with superpowers. Gon used Zetsu in the Hunter Exam, many feats of superstrength we saw early on were probably from half-awakening Nen, Neon Nostrade can see the future without knowing Nen.
4) Governments control who can teach and learn Nen. For example, the Kakin Mafia goes batshit when the Troupe talks about Nen casually in public.

did it stop there or manage to make over a million in 2019?

Yeah this is pretty accurate. I'd like to see nen research, if that exists, maybe outside of the law or under wraps like the dark continent.

>Many don't even have a Hatsu
Where does this tidbit come from? Even people like Pokkle had developed a hatsu within a year or so of getting his license.
> Most Nen users know less about Nen than our MCs
I think it's less, nen users don't know, and more that those techniques are advanced stuff and it already takes the average nen user a months to a full year to be able to even see aura.
>Gon used Zetsu in the Hunter Exam
This is largely speculation. Like a lot of the feats exhibited by the main group being able to suppress your presence can be a different thing than Zetsu. We saw in York Shin that using Zetsu makes a person seem see-through as was the case when Killua showed Leorio. But Gon suppressing his presence is probably more mundane than unconsciously manipulating his aura. He did say he learned it from watching animals. Things like super strength and endurance are likewise more normal traits that Nen can amplify.

Could Dark Continent be nuked? Unironically if it's so dangerous why not just put it out with nukes instead of risking the animals just walking over and mutating like ants?

It’s fucking huge. Also things don’t cross over very frequently.

>Could Dark Continent be nuked?
based american retards

This just doesn't satisfy.
In the Heaven's Arena supernatural shit seems to be borderline common.

Ladies and gentlemen, american education.

>people still create theories how things will play out in HxH

Just let it go, the manga will die with its creater before they even leave the boat.
You can shit on people like Kubo all you want but atleast he finished his main series.

he got axed user

The 200th floor and up is where the nen users are common place and viewing those matches is not open to the general public. You don't even need to use a hatsu to progress to that level either

yes and his ending was shit. I know. The thing is he did finish.
Better than some neverending story that continues just for the sake of it. He just does not give a fuck anymore, shown by the fact that he forgot his main characters along the way.

Kubo would’ve let it go on forever, but he got cancelled lmao.

Poor Kubo

Attached: 815119.jpg (1920x1080, 116K)

>Where does this tidbit come from?
Tsezguerra was making sure that anybody who entered Greed Island for Tsezguerra at least had a Hatsu. And wasn't surprised when Gon and Killua showed up without one. This probably means that quite a lot of people who were rejected didn't have one.

There was also one guy who had been in Greed Island for years who thought about stealing from Gon and Killua because he needed Battera's money. Anybody with any kind of Hatsu should be able to easily obtain a well paid job.

>even Pokkle
As a HxH, Pokkle is probably already more knowledgeable than some guys who picked up Nen from some rando in Heaven's Arena. Probably got a better teacher too.

>I think it's less, nen users don't know
Gon and Killua had never heard some of these terms. I don't see how some rando who got Nen awakened could learn them.

I mean, Kastro made a basic bitch mistake when developing his ability. Can we be sure he had a teacher even as good as Wing?

Plus, Balsamico in the current arc says that the Hunter Association knows Nen better than the Kakin Army. So either some stuff our protags know is secret knowledge or there is some secret Nen knowledge that neither our protags nor the Kakin army know. I am fairly sure the first is more likely.

>This is largely speculation
IRL, yes. In a narrative however you wouldn't bring this shit up if it wasn't the case.

>other feats
I mean sure. It is possible. But even back in Heaven's Arena we learned that the top Athletes, Scientists, Artists and Leaders were using Nen without knowing. Plus, Togashi introduced the "half-awakened" state this arc which explains a ton of stuff in Heaven's Arena and Zoldyck Family. It just comes to reason that someone who was already somewhat talented in Nen like Leorio could have pushed himself to a half-awakened state like all those athletes. Same with the kids.

hundreds of people watched chrollo vs hisoka though...
it's unrealistic for this shit not to eventually spill out to the general public.

>hundreds of people watched chrollo vs hisoka though...
We got a news reporter confirming that people outside don't know what happened. It's not broadcast to the people outside is all I'm saying.

Yes, but there are hundreds/thousands of different people who have watched these superhuman battles at the heaven's arena.
Clearly Nen or superpowers or whatever should be common knowledge by now.

>Tsezguerra was making sure
He specifically says "show me your ren" but that can also mean showing your hatsu. There's more than one way by that wording and it could also mean that people who did show their hatsu or aura quantity simply weren't judged as having a capable one.
> Anybody with any kind of Hatsu
If he falls into the stereotype of a temp hunter his overall skill level might be too low for better paying stuff if Greed Island was his fallback. He could also not be a person screened by Battera

from some rando in Heaven's Arena
You dog those guys but the three that first showed up at least had a good understanding of the basics of Nen given their abilities. However they were bad fighters overall and all of them crippled and gimping themselves to be good at fighting in arena's and nothing else.

> Kastro made a basic bitch mistake when developing his ability
He was blinded by his loss to Hisoka which is a recurring thing with the clown. People he's beaten have showed up before specializing in something ill suited for them in the long run. Just look at the juggling idiot from the tower of conviction.

>Balsamico in the current arc
And he and his group have kept up with everything else so far so we're not sure what that really means. Benjamin's troupes are by far better than the temp hunters we've seen in terms of hatsu. And they understand how nen warfare is conducted and are thorough in their analysis. What the HA has over the Kakin army so far is speculation as both groups seem about even in intel.

>In a narrative however you wouldn't bring this shit up if it wasn't the case
Nowhere does the story connect the two so our real first example of a nen genius was Neon Nostrade.

>But even back in Heaven's Arena
Some, not all it's still a rare ability
>"half-awakened"
unless you have the benefit of some training that still doesn't mean a person gets augmented. And it requires a trigger in all cases.

This, fellow anons, is how a real chad looks like.

too bad he's gonna find Hisoka and die without telling Kurapika a thing

this

Super humans are more normal than Nen users. And floor master matches are still exclusive. Even if a person didn't know nen, if they went on TV and said they watched their own doppelganger get blown up who would believe that story?

Nen is at best seen as weird powers by normal people and they aren't equipped to comment deeper than that.

Don't you think Pitou might be a male ?

They probably don't have access to enough uranium to nuke that much landmass. Plus it would probably cause huge environmental problems.

So Tsezguerra was also really judging Ren sometimes according to you? How does that help? You have to use Ren on a cartridge to activate it anyway. Him testing for Hatsu makes far more sense than him trying to measure Aura.

>stereotype of a temp hunter
Most of the guys in Greed Island weren't even Hunters. Just common people who could use Ren and maybe some other basic principles. Get this. That guy who wanted to steal from Gon, and most of the fodder Genthru killed, couldn't even pass the Hunter Exam despite having Nen. Unlike the Temps. That is how bad some Nen users are. Could you expect them to even have a Hatsu?

Gido was also misusing his Category, as he had poor control over his tops. Can we really be sure any of them got Categories explained?

>Kastro was just angry
Angry for an entire year? Not impossible, but definitely seems like a worse answer than he just got taught Nen from someone far worse than Wing, as the importance of Categories was never really ingrained into him.

>Nowhere does the story connect the two
Could you tell me what is the point, from Togashi's perspective, of Gon bringing up that he might have used Zetsu before during the Zetsu training, and then Wing saying that it is possible, if it is not the case? He just wanted to waste our time?

And either way, the fact Wing agreed that it is probably true means that Wing believes that a kid with no Nen training whatsoever could use Zetsu naturally, if he had enough talent.

>some not all
Sure, and these people that unlock Nen unconsciously will naturally make it to the top. I mean, we met the Gungi world champion and she was a Nen genius. Why wouldn't some boxing, horse-racing, etc. Championsbe Nen users too?

>requires a trigger
If somebody can open your Aura Nodes in a way in which Aura does not leak, then you should be able to do it yourself. In fact, that is probably what all these Nen Geniuses do. To some extent.

Are you the same guy talking about nuking Meteor City?

>So Tsezguerra was also really judging Ren sometimes according to you?
According to the story, yes he absolutely will make a judgement based solely on Ren. And as we later find out there are some things you can tell simply from how much aura someone can make, and how long they can maintain ren. Why else do you think Tsezguerra had high expectations for Gon and Killua? He could sense their potential with just one showing of aura.
>Most of the guys in Greed Island weren't even Hunters
We were told the exact opposite. And like I also admitted, we don't know who all the people are since Battera isn't the only person seeding individuals in. But he's had a pro screening for him for some time now. Even someone like Binolt is specifically stated to be a hunter.
>Could you expect them to even have a Hatsu?
Yes, I could expect a non-hunter to have a shitty hatsu if they are also a shitty nen user.
>Angry for an entire year?
Yes, but his anger didn't make him make a bad ability. It did however cloud his judgement when making his ability since he picked something flashy instead of practical for his type. We have nothing else to go on from there.
>Could you tell me what is the point,
The false nen is a series of mental exercises to help someone learn the true nen. Zetsu also has a clause for this since it's a foundational ability. Gon has spent years training to suppress his presence while in nature without knowing nen, but he also is a freak prodigy. For him once he was aware of his aura nodes it was easy for him to apply what he had already learned to the new senses he'd gained. At least that is my read.
>In fact, that is probably what all these Nen Geniuses do
That's a reach. Neither Komugi nor Neon had any awareness of aura. Tserriednich is the only one to feel it out and that's because he still has a teacher telling him about it.

So the superhuman is common knowledge?

Your looking at this weird. That world's normal includes assassin's who advertise their home. People who can run 10km. And magical shapeshifting creatures. And the dark continent is public knowledge.

Nen is far more fringe compared to those.

It would be anticlimactic if the monsters were as strong as Meruem to the point where they get BTFO by a common nuke, yet if they're stronger how can any hunter reasonably even fight them? Isn't this a plothole hunterbros? Could Togashi ACTUALLY be a hack who didn't think the plot through?
No.

No one was really that much in shock when Gon send giant 200 kg + dude flying in Heavens Arens with simple push

>And the dark continent is public knowledge
No it's not.

It became public knowledge only after Kakin broadcasted it to the world.

We're told by cheadle that parents use the DC as a threat for their kids. It is an open secret but kakin went over the V5 to get there

You don't have to "beat" nature, just survive. Unlike the Ants the DC isn't a threat to humanity it's just a request from Netero

>Shounenshitters are baffled that people don't know about Nen in real life when there are people right now on Earth that are enlightened whilst the vast majority of people don't even know what enlightenment means
Life imitates art

Togashi's use of ink in the CA was superb.

Those people were shocked and surprised. But yeah what can they do about it?

user please

Probably he is.

The masses of nen users that got killed by Genthru weren’t hunters.

I cried when Bloster cried. Maybe I’m not cold after all.

user I want to say: thank you.
Thank you so much for this music i’m right now listening to and imagine it as the Succession War intro. I loved the part about “Theta and Tse dancing with the tone growing darker like she's in peril.”

So Hunterbros,
what will the next thread be about? What do you guys want to discuss next?

Attached: Hisoka horizon.jpg (962x749, 90K)

Maybe

No.

dunno, i'll probably go back to demolishing shonenbabies in their generals

Gyro.

Why brainlets think Gon will never come back

Good luck and maybe we will
see you back in the next thread (which I seriously doubt)

Alright we could discuss Gyro but what else?
What about the Dark Continent, the upcoming Meteor City arc, Hisoka's endgame, ect.

Anyway one of you should make the next thread.

500 IQ moment

Attached: 1565826730992.jpg (1315x1920, 552K)

Anyone else worried Togashi won't properly finish HxH and that the Dark Continent Arc will end up being another Three Kings Saga in YYH? Both started with massive world building and exposition but TKS ended up being extremely rushed and underwhelming since Togashi just wanted to finish the series. These extremely long breaks for an arc that's supposed to be longer than Chimera Ant is having me really worried.

Attached: 1566114775411.jpg (400x400, 87K)

I would like to talk about enlightenment, meditation and the ultimate reality of everything, but I'm not sure how to keep it HxH related.

How can he fit so many IQ points in his brain ? How does he do it bros ?

Attached: 1498764593700.png (534x316, 67K)

Nah man we already had a lot of that and don't
forget the pastas.

Attached: 46410538_p0.png (800x726, 376K)

Hey there enlightenedbro, it would be an honor if you could start the new thread as promised in the previous one, if I could suggest anything it would be a based introduction into any of your favorite themes from the chimera ant arc.

Attached: Komugi.jpg (1920x1080, 88K)

Where do you recommend starting the path to enlightenment my nen pilled friend ?

Can we please keep it within the HxH universe and lore?

There's one missing, 15 + 8 + 2 it's 25, the last one is probably Loupe, the last of the trio, even tho we didn't see Hisoka kill him and he wasn't one of those sent after them

>Dubs
>Trips
>Quads
This must be a sign my fellow Hunterchads.

>Nah man we already had a lot of that
Not really.
>and don't forget the pastas.
I'm talking about whipping up some fresh, hot-of-the-press enlightenment ABC.
Actually I never promised that I would make a new thread, that was some other user replying to you.
It's past midnight and I will go to bed.
I guess I could try some time to break down Nen and explain it in real world concepts, but my IRL experience with energy field and auras is still too immature for me to teach anyone how to awaken their aura over Yea Forums. In my experience, the training of aura manipulation comes after establishing a primary level of enlightement (such as perpetual pure consciousness), which is why I'd prefer to talk about that first. It's possible that these can be attained in reverse order for others, but that was how it worked for me.

We can discuss this in greater detail tomorrow, but I'll give you a clue that I posted elsewhere:

>I'm talking about whipping up some fresh, hot-of-the-press enlightenment ABC.
Oh I'm down with that, let's do it user.

Next thread, I don't which based user came up with this but it's worth a read.

It is a Hunter x Hunter thread, so it's fine by me.
