Squid Girl

Just stared watching and reading. She’s pretty cute and the story reminds me a lot of Sgt Frog.

>manga is forever over and is replaced with garbage

Never, but it is a nice manga for learning moonrunes, so you now have an incentive!

Isn't Ika Musume just Jap for "Squid Girl"? What's the beef here?

>not a single geso in this thread de geso

I initially only watched the series for Nagisa.

Naming convention, it's like someone calling spice ookami to koushinryou, just ain't right.

Now shut up and post squids.

>Naming convention, it's like someone calling spice ookami to koushinryou, just ain't right.
Wat? It means the same thing. In fact, saying Squid Girl is better because Japanese audiences understand what Ika Musume means right off the bat, whereas the rest of the world doesn't.

but Ika is her name.

The proper noun of a character is fine. The title of a show is just an advertisement so people know what the show is about and to identify it to other viewers.

I'd rather call it イカ娘、But since no one here reads moon i'll call it ika musume.

This is not reddit where we want people to watch shit, you are supposed to already have seen this, so we'll call it what we have always called it newfriend, if you have an issue with that there are better places to discuss laotian drawn stories.

I'm just more taken aback by your apparent pretentiousness to insist that we use weeb terms for something that can clearly, accurately, and more smoothly be named in English. I also don't get the stretch you're making about turning this into gatekeeping. You're not really keeping plebs out, it's more like you're just trying to brag that you know the Japanese title. Which you just did by posting the actual katakana and kanji of the show and then pretending that's the "preferred method" of communicating this. If that's the case, why are you even here on an English site trying to converse in English?

2chan is deader than you'd expect, and elevens are as fun in conversations as you'd expect.
It's not really gatekeeping, that implies an intention of "protecting" the medium, this is more of a keeping of conventions on the board, it was like that while it aired and will be like that until it get forgotten to time.

Why are you so adamant in calling it like that? If you feel so forced to break convention go somewhere where they do it the way you like it.

She's my wife. I wish they had done other seasons that weren't summer, but I guess I understand why. It's definitely one of my favorites of all time and it's so wholesome.

>2chan is deader than you'd expect[...]
That's really not our problem. If you show up on an English board to speak English, speak English.
>this is more of a keeping of conventions on the board,
That's literally the definition of gatekeeping though. You're keeping the conventions aka "protecting" the old ways.
>Why are you so adamant in calling it like that?
I'm not. I just wanted to know the beef behind the autistic fit you had up there when someone just spoke English on an English-speaking board. It's reminiscent of anime clubs English speaking nations have here in our high schools. Full of cringe redditors that insist on using Japanese terms inappropriately.

Leave it to Yea Forums to turn a thread about one of the cutest series in existence into petty online drama. I guess this is my wake up call. This place just isn't like it used to be!

If you consider that an autistic fit then you sure are new, were i an autistic basement dweller i would have derailed the thread with screeching and samefagging shitposting until it was completely dead, it was quite tame actually, more like a gentle prodding.

No, really user, why do you care so much? Just how new are you? Or are you projecting some sort of mental image onto me born out of frustration with the board, or perhaps some IRL weebs you know? Because calling something by the moon title is nothing compared to the shit people do in those cesspools.

>thread derailment with petty drama isn't how Yea Forums used to be
Lanced Jack and Taiga

>If you consider that an autistic fit then you sure are new
An autistic fit is an autistic fit. Comparing yourself to an autistic shitfit doesn't make you less of an autist.

>No, really user, why do you care so much?
Same reason I care so much about degenerate anime-club losers being autistic over something that doesn't deserve the attention. It's a naturally repulsive behavior that deserves to be admonished. Not calling it out would be a disservice.

Also, I love the fact that you switched from giving actual statements and reasoning to begging a bunch of questions of me, like you somehow believe I'm mad. It tells me that I pegged you on the spot as a pretentious anime-club weeb.

Ok, so you are projecting your frustrations with anime club autists. I can sympathize with that, they clearly left you with some baggage.

Now, do you wanna post squid or do you still need to vent a bit?

>so you are projecting your frustrations with anime club autists
I honestly am starting to believe that English is your second language. How does one "project" their own frustrations exactly? And why is being frustrated with your kind wrong?

>the story

I dislike the eldest sister, and she makes it the show far less enjoyable to watch.

Didn't start out too well, but got better. Something about Ika enjoy de ge so.

One-piece swimsuit is my fetish. Goddamnit, squid.

You can't make perfection any less enjoyable, as it's already perfect.
