Mob Psycho is an anime masterpiece, but it's pretty easy to accomplish given the manga's draftsmanship. It all depends how good a studio is at translating a manga into animation. I think MHA improved a lot of scenes in the anime but the manga's art still holds up super strong since sometimes they don't translate scenes strongly enough.

The stiff art, the novel-amounts of writing and dialogue, the lame ass paneling and speech bubble layout. I find it silly especially when its really surface level hamfisted shit like this but I got no problem with modern diversity or political bullshit in capeshit, especially considering historically how much comics were used as a platform for social justice.

My problem with the medium/industry is the nonlinear writing, how DC/Marvel rule the American industry, the complete stagnation of characters. The writing is all non consequence, there's continuity reboots every 5-6 years. The MCU absolutely stomps the comics because they actually follow a narrative. Batman and Superman have been in their 30s for 70 years and we can't move past them despite all the legacy characters they've spawned. And everytime an interesting idea is presented for their character, it's forced into everything within the next 5 years. Now every Batman story is a Bruce x Catwoman thing, now Damian is the new Robin and focused in every story.
I just want a writer to make a Vol 1-100 Justice League or Avengers series, say this is "My definitive continuity for the DC/Marvel Universe and all the interesting and important storybeats/arcs." and fuck off with tie in comics, crossover events, or spinoffs. Just give me a singular series to follow 1-100.

Throughout Rebirth we saw Superman settle down and focus on his family life with his wife and son. It was great and people loved it. But once Bendis got his grubby hands on it he totally removed that aspect to put "his" vision into it.

I think what Anime is good at is boundlessness. There won't be a western media that's as good as Kill la Kill or Gurren Lagann at what Kill la Kill or Gurren Lagann does, which is undiluted crazy fun but with enough heart to have the attention of your soul as well. There's some artists that manage to be creative with panel layouts, but yeah the big Two are in their worst state currently. You'll get maybe one or two books worth following like Ewing's Hulk or Morrison's GL, but they still get bogged down by company-wide events and mandates from corporate on what the writers can and can't do.

The authors / artists then make the most decision how a comic content gonna look like. This often results in over the top retarded shit so obviously retcons are a normal everyday thing too

And let's not forget the most important thing, opposite to manga's hostile and competitive enviroment where your series can be dropped at any moment if you are a talentless hacks, anybody can find job in the comic industry if you know the right person

I'd say on average I could find a Western movie I'll love way easier than an anime movie/series I love as much. Maybe it's just cause I watch more movies than anime, but I've got maybe 5-7 anime movies in my Top 50 favorite movies list. Not to mention there's certain types of movies we'd never get from Japan's anime industry. We'd never get Spider-Verse type animation from an anime studio.
