That is true for strict enumeration, but that isn't exactly what this is. When objects are in a specific order anyone can memorize patterns to simplify the process and reach higher numbers at a glance. I've gotten up to 13 by simply glancing at the halfway point between 13 zeroes in a row and enumerating only the right half.
