The only female mangaka I ever followed was the person writing D.grayman and she hit over the head with the "You no have husband and kids?" Japanese guilt like a train and stopped writing.

From those Ive been exposed to, Dungeon Meshi, FMA, Silver Spoon, Emma and Otoyomonogatari are all great, so I guess they're alright.

It's one of those "would improve the most with the addition of a different writer" mangas. Then the artist could design characters around someone elses story so it wouldnt be horrible.
