I like GX, it's the weakest season by far and i wish they had written some episodes differently and cut some parts to make room for some of the SOL things but it was still fun. The problem is that to draw a proper yuri doujin, one needs to grasp not only the characters' appearances but also their personalities, mannerisms and the way they speak. That's much harder and requires much more efforts than simple porn.

I just don't really like the idea of making Tsubasa suffer to this extent for a troll move.

Seriously. Het doujins are almost always terrible. Exceptions exist but they almost always boil down to the character acting way OOC and then just about how they're getting fucked and it feels good but it shouldn't, why does it feel good oh my dirty place.

The Mind Flayer could still be used as a plot device only its welder would probably be more petty and incompetent. And even if Fudo were to die early his idea that a nation is not its people has yet to be defeated and is infecting Tsubasa. So no I don't think it would be a waste.

Making dialogues in Japanese also is much harder because of all the different expressions. Characters like Miku also changes the way she speaks depending on whom she is talking to.

That's true of any writing though. It's hardly a Japanese thing to think that people act different in different groups.

Japanese has a bunch of more explicit rules though. The lines that define levels of politeness in Japanese are much more well defined and clear cut than in English, so getting it wrong is much more jarring.

On a slightly related note, I always find it extremely weird when I see that doujin that was made before GX where Tsubasa calls Maria "Eve."
