Is anyone else ready for One Piece to become full on DBZ with the arc-ending Kaido vs Luffy fight? I can't even imagine the power level boost Oda will have to bullshit for this. Given the way Hyogoro explained how to use Haki to damage things beneath the surface, and the way it was drawn by Oda, it's clear we're going to end up with fucking Haki energy blasts by the time the series is over.
The only conceivable way I can see Kaido being defeated this arc is through a team battle like All vs. Oars/Moria, with Luffy only then able to barely beat a weakened Kaido, with some plot twist powerup like a Gear 5th or new Gear 4th form combined with upgraded Haki.
since the begining of one piece i was always waiting to reveal the "devil" in devil fruits, like the hollow of ichigo, or the kyubi of naruto. ( i know it is a dumb idea, but it was a trope back then). I think the most close we are gonna get (and i hope) is the "awekening" of the fruit. Since we got that "advanced haki" this saga, i doubt luffy is gonna use it here, but everything is possible.
Joseph Ortiz
Oda has been teasing awakening for 4 years or so now, with two main antagoinsts using it (not counting ID namedrop and possibly Crocodile). We are in the climax arc of a giant 7 years and counting saga, up against a Yonko. It is time.
Daniel Bennett
I think Luffy's awakening following the others that can change the environment to their fruit would work. It would make for some great surprise tricks. Imagine nothing about the environment looks different, but only Luffy knows that the wall behind the enemy is actually made of rubber now. He could easily increase the power of any attacks by bouncing off the environment like Bellamy.
Ryan Lee
MARK MY WORDS YOU ANONS: Krillen will have to die for Luffy to go super saiyan. Who is Krillen?
Levi Diaz
>Kaido is a known CREW KILLER. >all these anons calmly thinking Luffy’s crew is safe. Kek.
Benjamin Watson
Dude Oda made it so that Moria’s whole backstory was he was a luffy-tier badass with a top notch crew and a high ambition and Luck, got MURDERED by KAIDO on WANO. And everyone just thinks Luffy gonna fast super saiyan out without any losses? No.
Ayden Robinson
They are safe though. No one is dying until the last arc. At worst some allies (probably scabbards) will bite the bullet during the Onigashima raid.
Jackson Watson
U-usoppu-sama?
Ethan Peterson
was chapter translated yet? give me the link please i was working 12hours today and almost forgot its friday and we got new chapter
Benjamin Robinson
Are you honestly thinking that because the big bad villain was hyped up to be big and bad it's impossible to pull a victory?
Hudson Morgan
I'm really curious about how the climax of the arc will look. I doubt that Oda will just drop all that he's been building up with Wano and put everything in Onigashima, which is basically just a skull island as far as we've been shown, and it doesn't really involve the samurai side of the story.
I think Onigashima will be just where the Kaidou fight happens, and the rest will be in Flower Capital. It would seem weird otherwise, since I feel Oda would've developed some of Onigashima at least by now if it was big enough for all the fights. Even have a setting shot to properly introduce it as anything more than Kaidou's lair.
One Piece already has energy beam style attacks, orbital cannon style attacks, exhaust burst style attacks etc. Haki explosions are pretty modest by comparison.
Julian Stewart
>Is anyone else ready for One Piece to become full on DBZ It's been that way for a while, user.
John Long
It's been shown more than Enies Lobby in Water 7.
Logan Perry
Characters still aren't on Raditz level, so no.
Kayden Richardson
It's not about scale, it's about presentation and execution.
Caleb Flores
Enies Lobby was a different arc though. It could be that Oda wants Onigashima to be a separate arc, but I kind of doubt it from how he's presented the plot, and travel between the two islands being basically instant.
Thomas Ward
WHERE THE FUCK ARE THE FUCKING TRANSLATIONS?!?!?!?!??!
Just the fact that we were told that you can't beat him 1v1 means that Luffy is going to pull it off
Hudson Peterson
Of course the plan will fail to some degree, but I don't think it'll be a failure in the sense that it should go on for a separate arc. More like what happened in WCI with plans changing and them having to adapt going to another sort of climax.
Aaron Lopez
Does anyone who knows korean do a play by play translation of each page?
There's a good chance his crew are stuck in the same prison that Law and all those people with the crescent moon tattoo are, so I could see him and Killer attacking the capital to try and get them out and then Sanji Shinobu and the Heart Pirates joining in with a mass break out. Though I could see one of the calamities trying to intervene
Gavin Butler
Its not DBZ until planets start being nuked.
Cooper Powell
Never. You can forget it. It won't happen. Kaido is the strongest in the world. Luffy defeating him in 1v1 would mean he's now the strongest in the world. Luffy won't be considered the strongest in the world until he defeats Blackbeard. You can forget it. It won't fucking happen.
Asher Walker
That seems like a good way to involve King or Jack into the plot. But I think that if anything Kid will go mad once he sees Hawkins, or it could also be the perfect time for Apoo to make his appearance in the arc to show the alliance meeting up again. It's crazy that it still feels like the arc is barely starting. I don't understand how some people say that we are halfway through.
Hudson Hill
If it was the endgame? Definitely. But right now? It will make Luffy like a top dog of the whole world (aside of Imu who's a secret character). The only way for others to look threatening as antagonist would be to actually beat him first, but you won't get long ass battle just to have Luffy win, so it'd be just them opening a whole can of ass whooping on him. Which would itself be ridiculous.
Joseph Williams
*just to have Luffy lose
Gavin Price
Kaido isn't the strongest in the world though, that's just what people call him. All the yonko are more or less equal. Obviously Kaido will be weakened somehow but in the end it will just be Luffy vs Kaido
>Kaido isn't the strongest in the world though, that's just what people call him. That's what hammered down time and time again, the point is that Luffy can't look like the world's strongest until the end. >Obviously Kaido will be weakened somehow but in the end it will just be Luffy vs Kaido I think that's what everyone more or less expects.
Cooper Sanders
When do hear about brook's past, childhood and adulthood. We only know he knows germa from his past and that he is from unknown kingdom from west blue. Problem with brooks is no one hasn't regocnized his name from bounty poster. Post your theories. Does he know rocks?
Enies Lobby isn't really a different arc, it's just the second half of Water 7.
Jason Powell
Luffy defeating Kaido doesn't make him the world's strongest, it will make him a real yonko which has to happen before the endgame can begin because he can't meet Shanks before that
I would like to learn about Brook's past too,but what I really want is Oda expanding on the Rumbar pirates a bit and maybe give us some info on pirate crews of the past that aren't Rox.
It's not a different storyline or saga, but it's definitely a different arc.
Ian Taylor
It isn't. It's just the place of the final battle (which is long as shit). Main villains are the same. All the plotlines carry from W7 since nothing gets resolved there. Barely any new ones are introduced (I think just Oimo and Kashi). Is "Train arc" a thing too?
Gabriel Cooper
The fucking narrator said he's the strongest living thing in the world. He's the strongest. And even if he wasn't really the strongest it wouldn't change anything because people in the One Piece world think he actually is the strongest. In a nekketsu the protagonist cannot become the favorite to win before the fucking end of the manga. Yonko aren't supposed to be able to defeat each other. That would make him above yonko level. That would mean Blackbeard is the most likely to lose against him. It would mean the odds are against the fucking bad guy. It won't fucking happen.
It really isn't. It's like having "Impel Down Level 1 arc", "Impel Down Level 2 arc",..., and "Post Impel Down arc" when they escape (to go full wiki retard mode).
People in OP world don't think he's the strongest though. He's the strongest creature while Whitebeard was the strongest man. There are a lot of "strongest" guys around
>It's just the place of the final battle (which is long as shit) They didn't get into the final fights until over 20 chapters into the arc, and it's not such a long arc to begin with. >Main villains are the same. All the plotlines carry from W7 since nothing gets resolved there. Is Wano the same arc as WCI then? >Barely any new ones are introduced (I think just Oimo and Kashi). Is "Train arc" a thing too So is Marineford not a new arc since there's not new characters? The Train part is literally the same "arc" as Enies Lobby. There's a clear division, and I don't know how you don't see it. It's all the same saga, but they are different arcs. It's not. What you are saying is like saying that Marineford and Impel Down are the same arc.
Okay guys got a rough english translation of the first three pages. I'm self taught with a little bit of rosetta stone, so don't bite my head off if these end up as cursed translations...
No, no, no. The narrator said he's the strongest living thing and he said people think in a 1v1 you have to bet on him. Stop your bullshit, he's the strongest. Fuck off, if people think you have to bet on him it's 1v1 then it means they think he's the fucking strongest in the world.
And it doesn't fucking matter anyway because Luffy just cannot become Yonko level at this point in the story. He won't be until he defeats Blackbeard. That's why it's rammed into our heads again and again that the gap between him and the Yonko is still gigantic.
He din't defeat Big Mom in 1v1 and won't defeat Kaido in 1v1 either. Even Oda said he has to find a solution for them to defeat Kaido without it being Luffy just punching him hard enough.
Won't fucking happen.
Alexander Sanchez
At least have the decency to wait for the other user who actually put effort in his dump to finish before you're going to smear your tryhard shit inbetween.
>They didn't get into the final fights until over 20 chapters into the arc, and it's not such a long arc to begin with. The whole Enies Lobby is giant final battle, like Dressrosa once they reached plateau. It's actually clear analogue "W7 = pre-SOP Dressorsa", "Train = road to plateau", "EL = final fights (+flashback)", "W7 return = Last 10 chapters of Dressrosa". The structure is very similiar. >Is Wano the same arc as WCI then? Nope. WCI resolves lots of its stuff. Especially the main plot thread of getting Sanji back. The main antagonist changes too. There's clear separation by the Reverie chapters. W7 and EL share main antagonists. None of the main plotlines is resolved (Robin isn't saved, no new ship acquired, no shipwright joined the crew, Usopp still didn't rejoin, Pluton blueprints aren't safe either). The only thing separating them is location. >So is Marineford not a new arc since there's not new characters? Impel Down has its very arc specific mysteries and antagonists only Blackbeard reappears, and he's not a main one in either of them. But this is borderline case really, unlike W7/EL which are just the same arc. >The Train part is literally the same "arc" as Enies Lobby. There's a clear division Funny. You see a clear division. I don't. Check the wiki, they also see division. But they put the train as part of the W7 arc. Maybe there's really no clear division as they carry directly into each other without ever resolving anything?
Jaxson Gonzalez
A chapterless weekend was worth it for this, I'd be happy if we never got official translations again.
Isaac Nelson
Thank you user. This made me feel better after this weeks disappointing chapter.
Easton Ramirez
first time i've actually been entertained by comics for a while
I'm surprised Caribou is actually talking about "the day of the battle", I thought he'd just wanna run away.
Juan Parker

>literally nothing happens this chapter
I'm reading out of habit at this stage
Jace Fisher
What separates PH and Dressrosa then according to you? It's a direct continuation of everything in it. > The only thing separating them is location. And you know, the fact that besides rescuing Sanji they closed nothing? And the arc is dripping into Wano since Big Mom and her crew are there? >Impel Down has its very arc specific mysteries and antagonists They don't resolve anything in it, since Ace escapes, and Luffy's entire purpose was to save him. >But this is borderline case really, unlike W7/EL which are just the same arc. So you get to choose? It's kind of retarded to say one is borderline but the other isn't, and not even give a reason for that. >You see a clear division A clear division isn't a literal chapater where before it's one arc and after it's the other. The wiki just follows what fits ordering things better according to them, and opinions will of course vary. I remember they changed the division between Reverie and Dressrosa due to filler episodes and some chapters not really belonging to any of the two arcs. I think that the train is the same as Enies Lobby since it's part of the same "mission", but I could see why people could think otherwise since this is all very dependent on opinions.
Because One Piece isn't about powerlevels. Kaidou is just an extremely strong pirate, but that's not what PK means, as it has been stated all the time.
Brody Allen
She wont have to use her ability on me to make me worship her, I'd even kiss her feet if she allowed me too, maybe lick a little more of her body too.
>Useful character who's actions have benefited the heroes >Burdensome plot device that causes nothing but trouble wherever she goes
Chase James
You first faggot. That user put a considerable amount of effort in his posts. That alone puts his contribution above any and all of the posts you will make in your life.
Connor Lee
her controlling smile users has got to be the most OP thing on the strawhats disposal, its seriously broken if there's no limit.

>That user put a considerable amount of effort in his posts. Putting an effort into shit doesn't mean it's good. I literally translate early spoilers and scans for these threads, so fuck off. If there were proper raws I would have translated them already.
Blake Wilson
I understand, but Is Oda still needs to find a way to have Kaido defeated but have the remaining villains still be a threat.
They gathered a army but everything felt pointless because kaido can just use conqueor haki to knock everybody out unless someone distract him or conquoror haki get a nerf where it cannot be spam repeatedly.
Elijah Wood
>implying the western fanbase can change how the story moves at all
I'd love that, but I don't think it makes sense since this is such a big fight. Them teaming up against one opponent should be for a more personal arc, since I don't think it should happen too often, and if it happens now it won't happen again.
If anything, it's clear it's going to be the Supernova captains teaming up.
Evan Brooks
Hopefully they held back on being ghetto.
Austin Johnson
>Putting an effort into shit doesn't mean it's good. It's absolutely leddit tier humour, only at least they have mods that would delete it. Go there, do your best to read at least 3 full posts and then come back here and tell me you still believe what you just said. If this you would post it there then I assure they'd tell you to fuck off just like you're telling anons to fuck off right now. >I literally translate early spoilers and scans for these threads, so fuck off. If there were proper raws I would have translated them already. 俺もそうしたんだ。大した事ないよ。
Josiah Kelly
Luckly based toei is making wano more enjoyable for me in the anime.
You know there is something wrong when mha chapter come out first before one piece. Don't really have a problem with build up but oda really need to make it more intresting. Too bad all the strong samurais have been kill by kaido and orochi. Wano is a shell of its formal self.
Joshua Ross
Big Mom better be playable and not just a boss.
Carter Diaz
Sorry, if my sense of humor wasn't so shitty I'd probably not hang around here of all places.

>What separates PH and Dressrosa then according to you? It's a direct continuation of everything in it. Caesar is the main villain of PH. And one of the main plot points is rescuing the kids which happens. We have Brownbeard who gets his own resolution too. There's even a clear pause between them. It's Baroque Works situation. >And you know, the fact that besides rescuing Sanji they closed nothing? It was the most important thing, eveything else being secondary. They also obtained Poneglyph, another huge goal of the arc. Pudding went through her character arc too. As did Pound. >They don't resolve anything in it, since Ace escapes, and Luffy's entire purpose was to save him. That's why it's a borderline example for me. Not much changes in terms of the main goal BUT we have different main antagonists who do not carry over, we have the whole Ivankov mystery and Mr.2's journey comes to the end (for now). So that's why I can see both views as reasonable. It's not the same for W7/EL. If W7 (for example) ended with SHs getting Thousand Sunny, Franky joining them and Lucci being defeated, and everyone going on a mission to rescue Robin, that would be a different case. But it's not. >So you get to choose? It's kind of retarded to say one is borderline but the other isn't, and not even give a reason for that. I outlined my reasons why I don't think W7/EL is not borderline, since nothing changes but the setting. And we even return to the same place we started in. >The wiki just follows what fits ordering things better according to them, and opinions will of course vary. So how is the division clear? Of course th exact chapters won't be clear, but we're talking about the whole story chunk. > train is the same as Enies Lobby since it's part of the same "mission" The mission starts earlier. And all the plotlines started in W7 carry here and resolve back in W7. Aside of saving Robin itself, but even she gets an epilogue there with Aokiji.
Benjamin Hill
>Katakuri Because of course.

So it looks like Bege really isn't a contender for Pirate King if he's leaving the New World right now to go meet his sister-in-law. That's a long trip and he's unlikely to return before the final battle.

Oda! Where's my nigga BOBBIN? We need best bros reunion.
Am i speed reading without noticing? When and why did the Kappa leave Udon? He just met extremely important people, including his fellow retainers and Momo.
And he just ran away to coincidentally met with Zoro, Hiyori and the bridge dude. And no one is taking to each other
So everything is turning out alright for the heroes aside of Yasu's death, but even that advanced their cause. Seriously, we need BM/Kaido alliance to counterbalance that now even more.
Ayden Hall
99% of them are literal jobbers
Charles Allen
All of Orochis and Kaidous forces likely still have them outmatched and outnumbered. The possibility of big mom joining forces is high though, which would be a cool twist.
Evan Davis
But even more of Kaido's goons are. And that's beside the point, everything is going too well, we basically achieved all the goals for before Onigashima or have easy path for this aside of rebels in the Capital maybe. There's a shakeup needed.

i want the strawhat grand fleet to assemble and sail to wano as surprise reinforcements.

It'll be Luffy, Kidd, and Law vs Kaido >Kaido's win Followed by Strawhats, Minks, and Samurai vs Kaido >Kaido's win Followed by Luffy vs Kaido 1v1 >Kaido's win but one-shotted by Blackbeard immediately afterwards It'll be a huge boon to Blackbeard, with Luffy getting a smidge of the credit, and all of the blame as far as Big Mom is concerned, who will then attack fishman island to lure the Strawhats to their execution.
I just hope this giant boss gimmick doesn't mean there'll be fewer playable characters than PW3. Unless it's the pre-TS Straw hats getting the boot which I wouldn't mind since only two or three play with any real difference from their counterparts. But then again the only potential new character I'm hype to play as from how fun his entire gimmick would look in a fast-paced game is Bege.

>Straw Hat Pirates >Heart Pirates >Kid, Killer, Hawkin, Apoo, and their crew >Minks tribe >Yakuzas >Samurais >9 Scabbards (I am assuming Kyoushiro is Denjiro for now) >Marco This fight isn't even fair. Tama alone makes reduce the amount of enemy down to 10. From what we have seen, 5 of the 9 scabbards can fight on par with Jack the jobber. That means they can literally go 2v1 on each of the Commanders. Sanji can probably defeat all the remaining Flying 5 if they are all as weak as Page One. All in all, Oda fucked up by even hinting at all these allies that the Straw Hat has. It doesn't help that most of these allies have proven to be at least fight on par with Jack, so Luffy's side literally just have to throw enough fighters to overwhelm the opposition. No matter how strong Kaido is, I doubt he could take on 10+ people that are at least as strong as Jack..But Oda is a hack, so each person will fight Kaido one by one instead of fighting him all at once.
Thomas Thompson

This arc has so many characters in it and none of them feel like they matter. I do not care about the kappa, i do not care about the fag monk that knows him. This shit is worse then dressrosa in terms of bloat
