gridman wasn't overrated at all. almost everybody dropped it or thought it was CGI toku trash when it aired until shit got really good episode 9 and onwards. it's strange that people are only now coming around to it.

What do you mean overated? I thing popular things are in fact always overated, since to get popular they obvioully have to appeal to a lot of people end being nothing special. Niche things are overloved by their fans but the fact you dont find it good doesn't make them overated

Dragon ball is overrated, its like naruto in terms of being good until it got shit, just not as trash as naruto.
And I wrote jinroh since its the one movie i felt was meh that Mamoru Oshii made.
Granted, i have still not seen skycrawlers.

Using the largest western site for anime as reference none of the stuff OP listed is popular. If it doesn't have more than half a million "members" it's not popular if I'm honest.
