I thought this chapter was really good. More manga should take a page from this book. There was some actual character development here, now whether or not the plot actually moves forward remains to be seen. Still we saw that Seto has a good reason to be such a study nerd. Anjou actually felt remorse over her actions but at the same time, she actually helped Seto by making him realize that a test wasn't the end of the world. The progression happened in one chapter, two if you count the previous one, but it feels very natural and not rushed at all. The previous chapters help with the buildup because the cadence is pretty standard: Seto wants to study and Anjou comes and interrupts him. It also explains how the two of them are in the same school, despite Seto being so smart.

Her feeling remorse was probably one of the best things about this chapter. I mean it wouldn't have mattered because he would have probably fucked up the test from nervousness regardless but it's good she realized that and wants to learn more about what makes him tick. I hope it's not a full reset to same ol' shit next chapter but this manga hasn't really had much of that.

If I remember correctly Seto knows what his feelings for Anjou truly are but he's still kinda dense about whether or not Anjou actually likes him romantically. He kinda figures out that he can tease her by praising her since it gets her flustered easily. Next chapter is gonna focus on the short chick in the group too I think.

It took way too long but I'm glad Seto is actually growing a spine and then staying on the offensive even if only temporary.

Anjou sets herself apart from characters like Nagatoro, Takagi, Uzaki, and Komi by having actual contrasts to her personality. And unlike Nagatoro, her relentless teasing isn't malicious (just constant insults about being gross) and instead it's constructive (have more fun, stop downing yourself, suck on this straw with me). She's definitely the most supportive female lead from this style of romance.
