Ok so hold the phone a second, Zeke is about to get convinced by some memory or another sure. What comes next? Is it really going to be that Eren is still in control, and it is in fact HE who is trying to bring Zeke around?
I doubt it. I don't think Eren cares at all what Zeke feels about anything. But that's just my own personal bias getting in the way.
And what is going to happen outside of that place? I can only imagine Mikasa will chimp out. What will Jean and Connie do? What will Armin do? I for some dumb reason thought the series was building up Armin to be the real final obstacle to Eren's plans but it doesn't really look like it at this point. It feels like Armin is just along for the ride and has been since he almost died. He never does any planning or strategy anymore, and now he's using thunderspears and what not it feels so out of character for him. Does Isayama just not know what to do with him? He was never really the combat type from the beginning, so why, narratively, is he out fighting Pieck?

I think he may have also learned Zeke was going to be fed to Historia as soon as he got to the island. Before he might have thought they'd keep Zeke on the island for a few months until his lifespan ran out, but learning they planned to transfer the power immediately meant he had even less time.

Hmm, I don't think so. I think Eren had already made up his mind on how much he could count on Armin by the time the meeting with Yelena happened, mainly because they'd already started drifting apart due to their diverging views on the possibility of a peaceful approach, which Eren had already expressed his skepticism about back when everyone was still getting familiar with the volunteers and Marleyans. I'd say Armin's reaction in chp 108 to the news of the negotiations falling through was what "sealed the deal" for Eren on that matter, which also explains the infamous look of disdain.
Even beyond that, if we go back to Eren's mindset right before the timeskip and incidentally the last time we got a clear look into his inner psychology, he had already decided to hide the theory he had concerning the Coordinate from everyone for fear of compromising Historia's safety, including from Armin (which is just not something you'd ever expect the Eren we knew back then to do). Taking this into consideration, I think whatever actions Eren undertook prior to or following the Yelena meeting simply demonstrated the logical progression of Eren's mindset over the years. If he began losing faith, trust or respect for the one guy whom he always believed he could rely on above anyone else, then it's only natural he'd become progressively more secretive.
Heck, if the baby wasn't part of ZY's plan at all, then it's actually possible Eren considered not telling Historia anything either at first, but given the current circumstances (Eren technically "dead" and no named character with known motives and goals knowing about his endgame), it's pretty likely he told her everything at some point for X reason we have yet to find out.

I wasn't actually referring to Eren surpassing his father when I made that comment, since that's something which should naturally be shown when we reach the end of Eren's journey (or rather the end of his story). I believe Eren's memories are key to making Zeke question his beliefs because he himself came to a point where he could've gone down Zeke's path, and more or less for the same reasons Zeke was went down his current path. But he was able to overcome that mindset because, unlike his big brother, he was actually saved.
But what I think is important to remember that before Grisha's family matters and his personal failings, the ZE conflict is first and foremost about two opposing ideologies, namely the inherent value of being born into the world and being a part of it vs solace and salvation only being attained through non-existence. If Eren, and if the manga in general, wants to make a case for the former, then his life, which has been a never-ending struggle for freedom, will naturally have to be revisited through some key moments.
Zeke might not even change his mind, but the conflict can't be fully started without him seeing those moments, I feel.
