They never fucking finish anything, take constant breaks, make up shitty excuses why they aren't working, and are either stretching out the manga because they have no fucking clue how to end it or because they just want to milk the success until they die.
>hxh
>berserk
>vinland saga
>vagabond
>one piece (although this is more because of Shounen Jump and not because of Oda)
>conan
>hajime no ippo
And so many more. Seems to be a natural trend that old mangaka are just lazy cunts. Look at Manga that have come out within the past few years. Dr Stone has over 1/3rd of berserk's content and it is only 2 years old. MHA is creeping up there with a few hundred chapters under it's belt. And a lot more that are constantly being worked on every day or have already finished. Meanwhile Miura and Togashi are just sitting around doing fuck all and releasing 1 shitty chapter every 5-6 months.
Pre-2000 Mangaka are Lazy
Pic unrelated
Are you really comparing dr stone and berserk
Exactly, Araki is an immortal being that works hard every day for his colleagues sins.
well, they're rich now, if they wanna chill they have the right to do so
Being eternal, Araki doesn't really count as "pre-2000", since he doesn't experience time in the manner we are used to.
Pic unrelated as Araki is aging like a fine wine while Togashi traded his spine for Dragon Quest and Miura got dragged down into Idolhell.
I'm only comparing their length and the time they were conceived. Berserk is almost 30 years old (31 if you count the 'pilot' manga) and still only has 300 chapters, because Miura is a lazy cunt. He doesn't even use ink anymore, everything is done on drawpads/computers which make the entire process not only easier, but faster. And he still takes constant breaks and only releases 1 chapter a year.
Also Dr Stone really has some amazing panels and art in it. Don't shit on Boichi, kid. In terms of the human form Boichi has Miura beat tenfold.
I do wonder if its literally mangaka pride that stops Togashi from releasing the story of HxH as a novel.
Miura's net worth is only 1.1 million. Which most of that 1.1 million isn't liquid cash, it's probably 75-80% behind the rights to Berserk itself. He probably only makes like 100k a year at most. Probably a lot less.
Somehow Togashi has 24.7m, probably because the HxH anime wasn't actual dogshit. Maybe Miura will get rich if literally any proper studio picks up Berserk and drags it out of otaku obscurity.
I think we all know atleast that Berserks going that slow because after about 20 years Miura realized that he has no idea how to live up to the expectations on how Griffith will go down since compared to the rest of the world he created the God Hand are way too strong to do it without a asspull.
As someone who has always avoided food with lot of sugar and never tasted a donut, pic related is making me feel quite tempted.
Pride in what? His drawings are terrible before the editing team gets a hold of them, his paneling is subpar, and every page is full of text boxes. How anyone could take pride in that is beyond me.
How the fuck have you never tasted a donut? They are literally one of the best foods on the planet.
To be fair, Gut's entire existence is an asspull, but people overlook it because he's a genuinely amazingly written character. So I'm sure if Guts just like screams and bashes Griffith hard enough to kill him and wins people will be happy about it.
>He wasn't born on the corpse of his dead mother
I swear zoomers these days take everything for granted.
>Gut's entire existence is an asspull
>asspull
God, I fear what word is gonna be ruined next.
How the fuck does Araki manage to look younger as he ages?
ALOT of Mangaka tend to forget basic health-care like...washing your face after you wake up.
togashi gets a lot of shit for his drawings and i get it, sometimes he just botches it but i guess it's mostly lazyness because a lot of his art also looks really good
It is though. Surviving as a newborn baby under your mother's corpse in the barren wilderness for days, wielding a sword two times your size even as a child with no muscles, wielding a much bigger sword that weighs over 400 pounds and swinging it while doing acrobatic tricks (while there is NO other human in the entire series that can do a feat anything like it, meaning Guts himself isn't grounded to the laws of physics in the world) without killing himself or severely injuring himself, etc.
Sure Guts is a struggler, meant to fight against destiny and that's the point of his character, but he's an asspull. Even if you excuse everything else that happens to Guts, it's still an asspull that a 5-7 year old kid can wield a claymore twice their size and practice with it to the point where they can wield a 400lb slab of iron in their adulthood. Not even the strongest body builder on Earth could swing Guts' sword without shattering and dislocating their bones.
probably some /fit/ hypochondriac
It's good but far from the best pastry
/fit/ bros are best when they just eat whatever fits their macros and doesn't worry about the little things.
He said he attributes it to taking care of his skin using something called Tokyo Bathwater
In reality, he's probably immortal
For something as simple as fried dough it really always hits the spot, no matter what type I get. Also it's probably one of the most versatile pastries. What do you think would be better?
>Fiction = ass pull
Wow I learn something new everyday.
Dragonball was good because Toriyama had a very strict editors up until the late Cell Arc. The influences can be seen on his villains:
Demon King Piccolo was based off his First Editor, Torishima, who's know to bark at Toriyama yet show paternalistic concern for him.
Frieza and his men were based of Kondo's cold professionalism.
Majin Buu was based off his third editor, who was a big fat guy and pretty hands off.
Turns out the water supply for his house is the Fountain of Youth.
>hxh
>berserk
>vinland saga
>vagabond
>one piece
>conan
>hajime no ippo
all are terrible anyways especially one piece and HXH.
absolutely based and arakipilled.
Araki isn't even 60 yet.
Araki just found the real version of Hamon and has kept the secret to himself. He's going to look as good as Joseph when he's 90.
Kishimoto started and finished Naruto. Boruto is some other bullshit that he's supervising.
>fiction can't follow a set of rules and laws
There are physics in the world of Berserk. Guts is the only Human to defy those physics. It's stupid and an asspull. Fiction or not.
That's like if a person other than Thor picked up his hammer. You can't just say "lol it's just fiction bro, calm down bro, lol bro, are you okay bro? it's just fake lol bro. bro it's so fake, it's just fake bro okay bro? okay bro, it's just fake and fiction so like just chillax bro?"
It goes against literally every single fucking thing set in the world, which means the entire setting and immersion of the world is destroyed and why the fuck would anyone keep reading?
There's no editor at Boruto to make him strive for kino!
Got to admit it's pretty versatile and also cheap.
>What do you think would be better?
Personally I prefer regular pastries from bakeries but their stuffs depend on the country
You're an idiot who doesn't understand biology. These people are older now. They are not as energetic as they used to be. And all the abuse & sleep deprivation they did to their bodies as a new mangaka is catching up to them.
I haven't watched Naruto since like Sasuke killing Danzo, but I did get a summary of what happened after that. I have been looking up Boruto fight scenes randomly though because for some reason they are just so kick ass. Their animation is like top notch. Orochimaru and his kid fighting against the clone guy, Konohamaru fighting against Jugo in curse mark form and kicking a kunai through his mouth, Konohamaru's rasengan, etc. Makes me wish it was actually a good series.
Jump manga gets the same amount of chapters as Berserk in only a few years. Berserk is 30 years old. Are you saying Miura just slowed to a snail's pace crawl 25 years ago and has been crawling ever since?
Do not open this image it creates mustard gas
Miura was 23 when he started Berserk. Hiatuses began in his 40's. He is 53 now. Use your brain.
They're also fucking old and could hospitalize themselves much easier.
17 years and still at only 300 chapters...
He's just lazy user.
Guts' life has only known war and battle, he was only taught how to use a sword he's used to swords bigger than him since he was a child. His whole philosophy is that he wants to become stronger by sword fighting and you always hear characters comment on Guts' inhuman strength. What you are doing is arguing outside the definition of an ass pull and still calling stuff ass pulls, Berserk isn't grounded in our reality it's a dark fantasy manga. Also Thor's hanmer works in who is worthy to wield it, so someone other than Thor can lift it so long they're worthy.
This is some crazy cherrypicking. And you didn't even list some of the worst offenders. We're 2 decades after 2000 and there are some manga that started in the 00s that are still running. Some that started in the 10s too but there hasn't been enough time for those to feel never ending. Comparatively there's been 40+ years before 2000 of somewhat "modern" manga production.
And you're ignoring all the mangaka pre-2000 that did short manga like Tezuka for example who finished 100+ manga that way.
>I'm not getting my fix so it can only mean he's lazy
JoJo part 1 and part 2 are inspired by real life elements
Araki just became the ultimate life form and is hiding his might for the time being
What an idiot. Tezuka, Go Nagai, Fujiko Fujio etc used to work on 5+ series at the same time. Putting out chapters on an inhuman rate. Change your title too "the 10 manga i've read are still ongoing, sniff"
>We're 2 decades after 2000
>someone not doing their job isn't lazy
If you specifically select series that started over 20 years ago then of course they're going to be ones that are either very long or come out slowly. What the fuck is your complaint?
>working 14+ hrs a day is normal and mangaka should do it til death
>get a job knowing what you'll have to do but find a loophole to not have to do the job because it's "too hard"
>not lazy
There's a difference between working 14 hours a day and working 14 hours a year. Both are on the extreme side of things and Togashi went from one to the other.
It's harder to conclude masterpieces than to shit out a new chapter of boku no hero.
>publisher repeatedly mentioned health problems
>nah he's just lazy
Post medical evidence he's well then & has no problem resulting from decades of health abuse.
Imagine believing that mangaka have a say on when their stories end, the shokugeki retard wanted to end it several volumes earlier but jump forced him to continue cause muh popularity
All hack writers abuse shitty formulas and stretch out their serialized work as long as possible. That's nothing new or ended.
I feel like weekly manga were a mistake.
Monthly mangaka seems mostly fine and happy.
What is Miura's excuse? What about the countless other authors that still haven't finished their series? Hell isn't there still a chess game being played for the last 14 years in a manga?
How would One Piece fare if it became montly?
To be fair, why would he end it so early? He set up such a neat setting and also set up a clear goal for the MC to graduate and become his own chef and learn all these cool things etc. If it ended during the first semester of his freshman year that would be really anti-climactic.
I'd rather have the middle and have a bi-monthly manga. More time for the artist, but readers don't have to wait too long.
You need a fundamental change in how a manga is paced between weekly and monthly though. As a whole, monthly manga generally gets less content, but the content that's there is delivered in larger pieces.
>near 60 and still delivers the 40 page monthly chapter with some rare breaks
Will part 8 be the last or does he still have a part 9 in him.
It's called having soul. With soul you can't just pump out garbage you have to interact with your inner self and bring out the gems. These things take time. Unlike shitty modern mangaka who just draw whatever they think up and so they will be forgotten while Miura and Araki will go down in history.
Conan is better than both of those shows
*most of
sorry theyre not technically hentai
The best pastry are eclairs imo. Nothing matches them.
Even Boston Creme donuts, which use a similar filling, don't fit my tastes as well.
Next would be Cannoli, if they count as pastries.
I need to try a proper cannoli I think. Everytime I get one it just seems super dry and not all too tasty. It's like a really shitty icecream cone.
Intelligently used Botox.
There are a lot of bucks but no brains being put into Boruto.
I have never tasted a donut either, I also find most filling disgusting.
Honestly all the lard makes them kind of gross
t. not a Muslim
What's Oda's?
Filled donuts are just one type of donut. The most basic donut is just a fried ring of dough with a glaze on it (pretty sure you can get no glaze as well). Just buy one. Are you guys third worlders or something? I can get a donut on literally any street. There is either a cafe, a bakery, a donut shop, a coffee shop, or a gas station every 100 yards. And I don't even live in a city.
>comparing weekly and monthly manga by chapter count
you can't be this retarded
this has to be bait
Gunnm has been going since 1990 in one form or another
The most basic one isn't a ring at all.
How can other mangacucks like Togashi compete?
What’s wrong with conan?
>shows
Is Akamatsu ever going to finish UQ Holder? It's been going on longer than Love Hina at this point. And I'm still not forgiving him for the end of Negima
It is good. The manga I mean. Anime is literal shit
By marrying ANOTHER mangaka
Unironically Sailor Moon is probably more influential than all of Togashi's works.
what the fuck are hiatuses hahaha just stop reading shounenshit lmao
youre talking out of your ass.
nice bait.
>muh modern generic shonenshit mangaka is pumping out these low effort chapters fast!
And Dr Stone and MHA art looks like caveman paintings when compared to Berserk and Vagabond
Vagabond is amazing for a weekly manga but Berserk was (still is technically but chapters rarely come out) semi-monthly or monthly so Miura had more time to put details in.
hey man, they're old, they don't give a fuck anymore
passion dies someday
Dude, most Jump mangaka have a dozen or so assistants to draw for them.
Miura's only assistant is a coffee boy.
Also, if the interviews are anything to go by, each page of Berserk used to take around 12 hours to draw.
It's insane.
Berserk has over 7800 pages. At 12 hours a page it would take something like an year and a half of nonstop drawing to draw it all.
Yeah, just look at D. Gray-Man, Hoshino went from weekly to montly then to a chapter each four months, but she didn't change her passing, what makes the manga unbearably slow.
If that is correct then if divide that up into 8 hour work days, that's 32 years of drawing with no days off.
>Togashi has 24.7m
That's more that Kishi. How?
Kouta Hirano can go fuck himself. Obese cow
Job/Jobber is getting ruined already
>meaning Guts himself isn't grounded to the laws of physics in the world
It literally is the explanation on how he gets most of his feats after the eclipse
Togashi owns HxH, Kishi doesn't own Naruto.
YYH popped up at just the right time to keep jump afloat in a hard spot, so he got special treatment for his next work.
how Togashi did it?
>no argument
I accept your defeat.
make sure you don't go on /3/ then
>I feel like weekly manga were a mistake.
Isn't weekly manga how this industry got so big?
Weekly is fine for comedy series with simple art styles - like most early manga were, with some exceptions of course.
But for manga with more complex art styles and more complex plots it wears down the creator too much in most cases.
Biweekly seems to be a happy medium where the creator gets more time to breathe, while the content is consistent enough that it is able to gather a fanbase quickly. See SxF for the number one example of this.
Ippo will have an depressing ending just like Ashita no Joe
there you don't need ot keep reading it.
OP is a fag who didn't read pre-2000 manga besides the normalfag shit. pre-2000 mangas were actually shorter than modern manga.
It's easy to produce a lot of content if your manga is shit.
This is just as much of a retarded generalization. There are manga from the 60s, 70s, and 80s still being published today. Some of them have released regularly while others have had long hiatuses.
That just makes it more egregious that Berserk is still meandering like that since it hasn't been any good for decades.
In what way is Oda lazy?
>ignoring the hundreds of works that ARE finished by pre2000 mangakas
>literally using only the most popular shit as an argument
Muira will always be know as the guy who died during hiatus without ever finishing his manga.
>In terms of the human form Boichi has Miura beat tenfold
Nigga you are smoking that GOOD crack, have you seen the females in dr stone?
ONE is keeping the tradition alive
Woman aren't humans, they are ayy's in Boichi eyes
to be fair they're the result of 3700 years of inbreeding
This
What's this from?
Origin
They are people that survived poor working conditions and made very influential and beloved pieces of media. They deserve to at least enjoy some of their life, as manga take so much time and energy to do some fucking 20 pages a week.
Read at least what they, themselves, have to say about the hell they transpassed to become the top players, at least, before doing some inconsiderate thread.
Yeah what's the origin?
