I always drop a manga if I'm not enjoying it at all, but with Naruto I went back and read through it all near the end of it's run solely for curiousity's sake. It was one of the first scanlated manga I read way back when the anime was new, and the anime was one of the first I watched fansubbed. I stopped reading/watching around when the anime went into filler mode, so when I heard it was finally ending I got nostalgic and re-read the manga up to where I stopped and then read through to the end.

I still think pre-timeskip Naruto was pretty decent, but everything afterwards was a mess. Only forced myself through it for nostalgia.

The other was about a viciously bullied girl who snaps and goes on a murderous rampage. It was shit because it was thoroughly unironic and tryhard with its presentation while being ridiculously graphic and over the top.

I've read other garbage too but it's the kind of garbage that you can still derive enjoyment from, either because it's so bad that it's good or it has something worthwhile going on for it.

I was reading Self which had a similar MC and plot point about an autistic MC being used by women and him being too autistic to say no, especially with the childhood abuse effecting the MC's romantic relationships but dropped it when it was revealed that the MC produces too much sperm so every woman instinctively seeks him out to save it which ruins the plot of a guy who lived most of his life as a human dildo learning to love himself. It's a damn sham that so many manga use rape and rape trauma as titillation, shock drama and "character development" but few actually examine the crime and the aftermath with any maturity, while those that "try" often fuck everything up at some point for drama.

The last two chapters are her waking up It's good lewd since it's Yui Toshiki but you'll begin to notice chapters are really short and end in horrible blue balling cliffhangers especially near the end which should have been a red flag but Yui Toshiki lewds though

Sometimes it feels like there might be something to a manga if you stick around for the ending even if reading it has stopped being fun but then the ending doesn't justify anything
Especially plots built around mystery boxes, it can seem really interesting in the beginning as you imagine what the mystery might be and that keeps you paying attention even when the plot hasn't been good for a while, and then when the mystery gets revealed and it's not at all interesting, or the author just forgets about it, you realize the whole story has been garbage from the beginning
