Most people have been holding and using pens/pencils their entire lives. Even as complete beginner, I think there would still be a noticeable difference between drawing with a tablet and with a mouse. Anyone with an artistic eye can usually immediately tell the difference at least.

Sure, if you know how to draw then you know how to draw. An artist can do wonders even with a mouse. It's still very noticeable when someone is using a tablet though, even if they're not an artist. The difference in line quality that a tablet pen enables is unmistakable, regardless of the user's skill in my opinion.

the difference is not whether it takes longer or not, if you paint and draw you would notice the similarity of painting to a mouse and drawing to a tablet, tablet gives you more control even if you are completely new, you can still draw a line that you wanted to draw, proportions might be off or the angle but the line wont be a wobbly mess like with a mouse. a mouse just doesnt allow that, even if you trained with a brush irl you will still get loose line while using a mouse, thats the difference between a mouse and a tablet

Give up almost all your free time and practice for many years. Look at what you're drawing instead of drawing from memory. Look at all the little details. If you're drawing a face or a body, draw a mesh skeleton. Draw a line in half of every part to help with keeping things symmetrical. There should be a eye-wide space between eyes, unless you're going for a certain anime style.

What do you want to draw? Anime? Grab a bunch of anime girls in the style you like, then try to draw them exactly as they are. It's okay if you trace in the beginning, but don't rely on that, use it to help you figure out the shape of things. After tracing, draw a lot of lines around the face, like down the middle and across the face above and below the eyes, and some lines across where the nose, mouth, and hairline are.
Don't know what else to tell you, that's a good starting point.

The point is that paint is accessible to anyone. Another drawing program is not going to automatically make you draw better.

I thought half of the point of using paint was to challenge yourself in using a program with limited features. Makes it accessible to beginners and challenging for the more skilled drawfags alike.
Not everyone has a tablet, but everyone has paint or access to it, like you said. Not the same.

So many people say it's all about practice and you just gotta practice practice practice for 10000 hours to get good, but then they just keep making the same mistakes the entire time and even get worse because they don't study. I always thought study is more important than practice. Seems like you've hit the ideal balance

Well, I haven't finished another sprite-sheet for my Tarantula in the last months. So I can't post "the usual".
But as I'm trying to get accustomed to working with a digital pen and tablet right now, I have tried doing something with it in Paint and experiment a bit. And, indeed, it's damn hard to get a good stable line with that in Paint without any >stabilizer. Thus, I went for sketch-like scribbling for the lines. I do hope I did her justice anyway.

Always be careful when you're drawing with a mouse. If your ankle hurts, take a break. If you don't, you could really hurt your hand badly.

Hard to hold normal mice in your mouth, ideally you need a vertical ergonomic mouse you can clasp with your teeth.
