It’s too bad this show isn’t very popular, I want a second season

this manga is just 5 volumes long. Why would you even want a second season?

The manga ended in 2017 with 5 volumes. There will be no S2

Oh, so it should wrap up this season? That’s different

I want to defrost her so badly if you know what I mean

Why is brown sugar trying to get people horny, making babies right now would be the worst possible idea for survival.

Actually it’s a great idea, those who ordered them killed are still on earth and unlikely to welcome them back, it’s better to wait and let their children find out what’s what

she cant have babies

>this show will not have doujins where all the girls end up in a planet full of big studs looking to breed
>this show will not have doujins period
I'm sad now.

why though? Isnt this aired on Japan on a primetime slot? Primetime anime are destined to be popular

After years of experience you just can feel when a show is going to have many doujins or not, and this one doesn't feel like will have any.

Can the intersexual have birth children?

So what does Yea Forums think about luca

What does sex with Luca feels like though?

Huh, I just realised this is probably why the anime removed one of the earlier scene in the manga.

The trope of exposing a character's chest in order to expose a gender secret is one I wish that anime didn't rely on so much. Even though Luca exposes himself of his own volition, it still comes off as voyeuristic. Fortunately, most everything beyond this is handled pretty well! Luca gives a frank explanation of what being intersex means, as well as what it means to him personally. I think what struck me the most was his acknowledgement that his body and his feelings about his body are in flux—there are a lot of “unclear shapes.” He tells everyone he's comfortable identifying as male at the moment, but he knows that might change in the future, and he's okay with that. Gender doesn't follow a rigid set of rules; there's room for fuzziness and fluidity stemming from the complexity of both biology and our own feelings about our identity. It's heartening to see Luca being accepted without judgment from any of the other kids.

Aries' comment about Luca feeling like “a new female friend” is maybe a little tone deaf, but the rest of the montage consists of humorous jabs at the other crew members consistent with the rest of the show's tone. The important point is that we see Luca feeling comfortable about being out as intersex, being himself, and being open to whatever the future has in store, with everyone else accepting and supporting him. I can't speak for the intersex community, but I love Luca a whole lot, and his feelings about the ambiguity of gender resonated with my own. After last week's slight dip in quality, this episode is a delightful surprise, and I appreciate the effort that author Kenta Shinohara put into not stigmatizing or belittling Luca's queerness.

Not so much an asspull as an outstanding coincidence, when you take the whole story into account, it's not too terribly hard to swallow.

The silly magical white attack-teleport hole feels more realistic than all those melodramatic backstories and shitty parenting.
Realistic as in "things that I could see existing in the real world".

Attached: ahhhhhhhhh.webm (1280x720, 82K)

Is it that far-fetched to believe that these kids aren't the only ones that went on a space adventure, or land on possibly the only habitable place on the planet? I see what you're saying, they could have thought of something cooler, but it's not that bad.

Heh, what are you guys gonna say when they literally put all those asspulls to rest in the coming episodes? Literally anything to complain about in this story ties together. Just try to think for yourself. I guess next episode will make it more blatant.

No, every asspull stays an asspull.

Why is he always with the loli?
What is he hiding?
What's his endgame?

Not really, asspulls happen when the author doesn't know what to write about. Everything in this thing is foreshadowing. I didn't like the bluntness of it all so it was kind of boring and the way it is told is also kinda boring. I guess that's why his comedy manga kind of failed.

Except it's not an asspull. An asspull is far more ridiculous. You may have missed the foreshadowing when Zack told Quitterie the only possible way she was getting home. Are people even watching the anime or are they just looking for things to complain about?

that was me and holy fuck have you delivered
thank you based user-sama

He's still attracted to the body type his comatose girlfriend had when they first met.

There are way too many lucky coincidences, foreshadowing doesn't make that any better.

BIG
CHINESE
MILK
MACHINES

That body NEEDS to be bred.

Which scene?

He can ba attracted to many body types.

Coincidences aren't bad if written correctly. This show started with a coincidence— a random ship in the middle of space and the students just happened to be transported to it? Coincidences can pull an audience in and cause us to examine clues as to what's really going on. Who even planned for all of this to go down? Why did all these talented students just happen to be put together? Is this some type of unethical experiment?

Is it Yunhua's Stand name?

so with history being altered
is that hibernation pod actually 112 years old and not 12 ?

Her ring-hopping flashback Without it, anime-onlies is being deceived that "Seira" and Aries are literally the same person, but Aries is younger than "Seira" in her flashback

Yes

does she let the kids know about this and they all start freaking out about the time difference?

They all figure out the time difference together. And they point out the 112 years to her.

naruhodo, i guess that's happening next week then, thank you user

I wish it gains more traction after that big reveal thogh like what happened to that Kado thing

Probably two weeks. Next episode will likely end on What is Earth?

After all, we need to do the astra repairs, get the amazing confession scene, and find the dog tags first.

The scene still appears in the OP so sooner or later they'll have to show it in the anime, althorn I wonder how they will tie it in.

Yeah, I find it odd that the scene was still in the OP.

Give her something to eat gosh darnit!

great episode

well that's nice

it looks like the ship being there is an asspull, unless there really was a group which was also in the same circumstances years ago

Attached: mpv-shot0001.png (1280x720, 1.06M)

There is a reason explained as to why a ship would have been in that region of space years ago. Hell, even as to why it's the same model of ship as the Astra.

cute C

CUTE

Yeah, it looks better in the manga

Attached: 009.jpg (800x1200, 132K)

It is an asspull. There was an explanation in the manga, but it would've been believable only if the planet was like 100 km in circumference.

Doujins are almost dead anyway. Thank mobile shit for that. The only series that still get some are some very few very popular series and most of them are rather for fujos.

Brainlet.

You land on the safe zone and obviously go near the colder area not the hot one.
There you go, no asspull.
Now fuck off.

Well, there's only that one strip of land. And the Astra did get damaged in that one bad area too. So, who's to say the other ship didn't get damaged in the same region, and land around the same region Zack thought to land years later. Fairly unlikely, but not enough to break my suspension of disbelief.

>anime has been nothing but coincidences and contrivances the entire time

First thing anyone does at a plot coincidence these days is shout ASSPULL, instead of assuming it's a mystery the story will explain later.

They think it makes them look smart.

Was anything skipped in this episode?

No thanks, I'm good.

i want to fuck her vagina with my penis, if and only if you catch my drift

No one is talking about coincidences that aren't actually coincidences.

Do you understand how big planets are? For shitty little planet like Mercury 100 km wide strip of land around the equator gets you area of whopping 1.5 MILLION square kilometers. Almost 3 times as much for anything Earth sized.
I'd be okay with it if they lived there for couple of weeks slowly scanning the surface with a radar or something, and then found a ship. Would also give some weight to the threat of being stranded for good, instead of it being resolved away in literally 5 minutes.

The ship honestly is an absolute asspull. Like everything else in the story isn't, but this one really was waaaaaay too coincidental. I don't know if he wrote himself into a corner here or what, or if some other plot elements that gave a more plausible excuse, just didn't make it into the final draft or something, or if he just couldn't think of a better way to add her in and just said fuck it, but this is high up there on the asspull o meter.

Will admit it was quite shocking when I read it, was prepared for some crazy time loop simulation parallel universe shit

Well, there's absolutely a good reason for the ship to have visited that planet, which would be the much harder thing to swallow if not explained. The coincidence is in them just landing so close to the other one.

Them taking more time to find it like suggested is an idea.

But it doesn't bother me too much. Maybe I'm just really lenient.

Explain futher

Attached: DrZEI.png (180x240, 47K)

I cant believe no one pointed this out yet but isnt the astra ships pre-programmed? Of course that sister ships may have the same programs or shit like that and if they have the same specific coordinates in it. These ships would eventually bump with each other for that reason

More like Kanata no Astranny.

Space is really big, like imagine how big it is, space is bigger than that. Bumping into things is not something that should happen.

People saying I should get out of thread for the Seira/Aries comparison spoilers. Will do. Is Aries a clone?

Star Wars had none. Star Trek had like two planets like this in it's decades of history.

You mean Arthur? God that'd be hot.

Yes. Also, Charce lied during most of that story. He did know a Seira, but she wasn't a peasant.

Will Charce get the cute and Funi?

yeah at the current pace they're gonna finish just fine. The manga was a fully planned out story from start to finish. Next episode is gonna be fun for animeonlys.

Attached: [HorribleSubs] Kanata no Astra - 07 [1080p]-00h22m19s338t.png (1920x1080, 2.37M)

Not really an asspull, both ships were limited to the meridian in the safe zone (which we don't know the actual size of, I imagine it's much thinner than the image on Zack's screen). Both were likely drawn to the same region densely populated by those bugs and treetraps (as explained in the manga), and the ship is located near a body of freshwater that Zack even mentions they had to move their own ship closer to. The other ship's crew probably also settled near this body of water after being knocked out by a treetrap in the same area.

This has to be the dumbest writing I've ever seen.
I'm out.
See you guys next week.

Attached: 1565216738755.png (930x686, 699K)

you're gonna need a ladder.

is next episode ending with THAT?

to be fair, it caught me off guard too while reading.

That would be cramping way too much stuff in a single episode.

I guess the other user's point is that that area can't be the only source of water and while the safe area may be thinner than expected, it still goes around the whole planet and it doesn't look like the moved the thing all that much. Got to admit these kids have a whole lot of good luck on their side.

Depends on the pacing. This episode for example covers a chapter and a half

It's how volume 4 ends, and given the current pace I really wouldn't be surprised if they manage to fit it in. There's gonna be a loooot of exposition dumping on the next planet anyway.

Attached: 79832049578.png (935x535, 601K)

Well, there's the start of the clones thing.

Since they've been adapting 4 chapters per episode more or less, next episode will end comfirming everyone is a clone, the one after will end with the twist.

So where are the UlgarxLuca doujins?

>whole empty planet
>only a sliver of which is actually habitable
>only a sliver of that sliver that is sheltered from the giant murder plants
I mean its still a small chance, but its not THAT small.

For whatever reason a bunch of EOP, TVtropes reading, Anime only faggots are determined to outsmart this show.

Its all related user. Really do not read the following if you don't want to be spoiled.
The sphere is an interstellar wormhole gate that was invented to aid a mass exodus off of earth; the thing became a devastating and terrifying weapon of war/terror causing mass chaos and was subsequently deleted from history. The reason they all have melodramatic back stories and shitty parents is that their "parents" cloned them to be literally nothing more than spare bodies and/or organ banks. The legally required genome screening would catch all of the "parents" and their conspiracy so the group needed to be deleted to the absolute last hair. Charce's original is the king of Vixia and the only person that has access to the gate technology.

YES! YES IT CAN!

Arrival was 3 years ago but you have a point there.

I started reading when that was lastest chapter release. It fucking killed me waiting for the next chapter.

He must have realized by now that his friends are slow at putting two and two together

You know it's not like they probably have a whole lot of extra clothes lying around.

Now that I think about it
MAJOR MANGA SPOILER
He had no reason to bring spare clothes since he was supposed to kill the guys and die with them as soon as they landed on the camp planet.

It would look fishy if he didn't have any luggage,

There is commoners and royalty areas. The shirt alone doesn't indicate what part he's from. Hell he could have passed it as a souvenir like those I

Well, you have a point.

>seira
>aries
Uhhhh lads?

They skipped it here, but in the manga they have a discussion about whether it would be right to wake her up or not before they do it.

And there's the cryogenic pod on the Astra just in case the person wanted to go back to sleep.

Nope. Ulgar will. Not joking.

That's not 100% canon I think, it's implied that Funi has a crush on Ulgar and in the extra yonkoma they hang out together.

aries is a clone of seira, in fact all the kids are clones of their parents

Realistically could they adapt to the life in a new planet that is mostly hostile, and colonize it?

Attached: 013.png (1280x720, 1023K)

While they don't get hitched, they definitely do get along great. More than Charce though, since he's either a busy king or getting lost in space again.

I like to imagine Charce started dating Yunhua at some point.

Attached: [HorribleSubs] Kanata no Astra - 07 [720p].mkv_snapshot_20.49_[2019.08.14_11.01.09].jpg (1280x720, 118K)

W-what? Why though?

>kingdom of vixia

Attached: images(1).jpg (247x204, 7K)

the kids are all clones of their "parents" because they wanted to live forever, cloning was illegal, government made bloodtests mandatory so the clones and their creators (parents) would be found out and in trouble - so they all decided to send the kids off to deep space to die so they wouldn't have their illegal act discovered
except for aries, she is not a clone of her "Mother" because she is a clone of seira instead, aries's mother actually loves her and wanted no part in disposing of the clones

Nice spoiler dumb dumb.

oh god forbid i made a mistake, at least i didn't just leave it there

People spoiler the twists every goddamn time and there are anons who avoid the threads for this reason.

Not sure what happened but thanks that kinda makes sense. They clearly foreshadowed that the parents were up to something but I wouldn't have expected that. Interested in seeing how this turns out.

For any Cathobros and Orthobros out there who read the comic, since Levanskaya is the only Apostolic Christian left in the world, can she facilitate the mass and the whole Eucharist transubstantiation thing? Also, how can she revitalize the faith? Is it also possible that Christianity remained hidden in Astra for a fuckton of years? I mean, Jap Kirishitan survived for 500 years of persecution.

Not with so few people, if for arguments sake they stayed and raised families the inbreeding would eventually cause a phenomenon called genomic collapse, eg the gene-pool is so small that it can select out negative traits over time so the just accumulate until the population becomes physically incapable of surviving or breeding.

Yunfat where?

i don't know, but i wish he would do it sooner rather than later

its lightly some aspects of Christianity and other religions survived as cultural practices devoid of there spiritual meaning. Like how Christmas or Halloween are secularized, its also lightly that some aspect of their morality survived in a secular form more as passed down moral beliefs and ethical codes. I doubt they survive in a fully extant form since the kids didnt even have a concept of god, let alone religion and that was in the space of a century, a crackdown that severe that within 3 to 4 generations God's are a foreign concept it doesn't seem all that lightly that any religion could have survived underground

If that's the case, can a woman like Paula ordain a male who wants to be Christian to become a priest? I mean she became a professor of History (possibly Christian studies) and is deeply religious so I think she may have an interest in revitalizing Christianity

In a pinch yes. I mean they're gonna have to rebuild it all from scratch anyways. Ordaining isn't a super power it's basically just get licensed and since they're the church now who's gonna complain. Not God.

Ulgar is also too busy traveling around to be dating anyone.

O MY ASTRA SPACE HULK

>they skipped the OP AGAIN
Why does Lerche hate Nonoc so much?

I wasn't the only one who thought of Nino, right?

they're rushing to cram in the entire manga with 12 episodes they haven't got time to be playing the OP

I recognize it!

why is the thread dead? Did everyone drop this already?

Do want to discuss spoilers or what?

IS THERE NO MALE FANSERVICE? NO NICE BUTT SHOTS LIKE THE MANGO?

threadly reminder that Ulgar did nothing wrong

Ulgar x Funicia is the best ship

It's a short manga. I think everyone who's interested and following the series just went a head and read it in the span of the first couple weeks. There's really no excuse not too.

Yes he did, he didn't finish the job.

>all these spoilers tags everywhere
Fucking sourcefags I swear.

Would you prefer we didn't use them?

Killing luca is wrong. Killing Atheist monarchs, however

>Fucking sourcefags I swear.

It's five volumes. There's zero reason not to read it. Fucking anime onlies

>he didnt read the dumps on Yea Forums

you have only yourself to blamd

*blame

fucking defective keyboard

Well said, user. Can’t even have fun trying to watch anime-onlies’ reactions because of all the spoiling.

should hate your defective life loser

this is not even a late-night anime. It airs at 9 pm

>hurr totalitarianism good history and religion bad

Online reading is a shitty experience for manga.

Yeah, but the anime has two cuts for it, since it's fucking animated

This story makes me feel so mad about how Shinohara view history and religion being the big bad that holds back muh civilization. I am sick of these thinly-veiled anti traditionalist and pro globalist propaganda and sees muh technological advancement as some kind of an absolute good that can never do wrong except if its used by muh religious and muh nationalists. I am fucking done with stories that always insult the past as it was like a boogeyman. Cant just people stop enforcing this idea that history and religion are things that hold humanity back? Yes, we can learn our mistakes through history but for the love of God stop thinking that utilitarian idea of history all the time. There are other great things that people can learn about history aside from "learning from humanity's mistakes" bullshit. I hate how Paulina didnt interject Charls's view of how "utopian" Astra is. I hate all of the characters in this fucking shitshow except for Kanata who is an absolute chuunibro. I blame the fucking retards in the academe and the decadent nature of modernists for this. Fucking assholes, I swear

It's shit anyway so they're doing me a favor.
I think I get what you are referring to and I also can't wait to see that animated.

> religion being the big bad that holds back muh civilization
have you seen the absolute state of the middle east

I'm gonna reply to this one and then shut up because this thread is nothing but spoilers.

When they learn the truth about the Earth exodus and history, culture and beliefs being erased for the sake of building anew utopian society, Aries come up with a counter-argument. She states that it's unfair to not allow the "new humans" to learn from the past and how important would be to restore the old knowledges. And you see that this actually happens in the last chapter with the people all over the planet Astra learning about all sort of things happened on Earth and revolting against the governments. So there you have it, the message of the author was neutral and unbiased.

>hurr if one religion encourage one bad thing then all religions encourage that bad thing

Imagine being this much of a brainlet. I dont blame you. The concept of (((public educational system))) is utterly corrupt and can be easily inserted with ideological and enlightenment poisons of the mind

yeah but the fact that it supposedly achieved "utopia" is bullshit at best. People did revolt but the author clearly has this ideological bias of religion and history being evil. Supposedly, Kanata's book quelled the riots and transformed them into curiosity and fascination. How docile are these people really are? To think about it, maybe the author celebrates Huxley's World State in a positive light. I think you niggers think that an all-powerfuk World State is good for humanity to "maintain peace"

How the fuck does the other view that positively when he actively tears it down

That timeline seems like a NWO nightmare fuel.
Literally every bit imported from other fiction about utopias being secretly totalitarian with shadowy, all-knowing elite. Weird that they do not turn old people into onions green.

She's more mature than her whiny older sister.

Meta-reason for the token loli, aside from being cute, is of course to have a child character who does ask things so that the other people can explain things that is normal and logical to them, but unknown to the viewers.
For example, she asked what the Vrixia area is, which we as viewers have no clue about, but the other older characters of course do.

>the kids are all clones of their "parents"
So they'll all look exactly like their parents when they grow older? Not sure what to think of that.

The answer is yes.

So far I'm liking this space adventure thing.
And even eve the unique life forms of each plant.

Attached: best girl.jpg (1000x1167, 496K)

Kinda saw it.

A shame we won't get the extras animated.

>unique life forms of each plant.
Surprisingly the last episodes is quite accurate, regarding the life form
arxiv.org/abs/1109.2668
Most life forms would be large sized insects, though I doubt there would be any Necrofriggian.

Sucking moister from barrel.

She's like a clone of her elder sister now that she's older. D-Don't tell me..?

Have you noticed that the official twitter edits the location depending on the planet the crew lands on? Until yesterday it was Arispade, now they are on planet Icriss 惑星イクリス

Do their "parents" get imprisoned for the crimes they committed?

How is your basement today user?

Yes.

Yes they do

The relationship with their "children" still intact or damaged beyond repair?

I think it was pretty ruined when the parents tried to murder them.

Except Aries. Her mom did nothing wrong.

Feels kinda weird seeing the originals get imprisoned and stuff when we've gotten to know of and become attached to the fakes/clones.

Why? They where all bastards who attempted to body jack and murder kids. even the manga doesn't give them more character beyond that

It's because they are, biologically speaking, identical to Kanata and the others. Of course the surroundings one grows up in forge ones personality so despite being clones they're still different individuals but some things are fixed at birth. Like appearance. Seeing the people that are identical in appearance be imrpisoned is a weird feeling. Or at least it should be for Kanata and the others.

Kanata was already moving down a different path to his dad at the start of the series. I suppose this is an adjustment but they do sort of make a point to show how they are their own people. So it is somewhat addressed.

Does the manga go more in-depth regarding the parents? Like if any one of them actually felt any sort of misgivings about this murder(attempt)?
Btw Funi and Charce aren't clones right?

The parents don't really get any significant death. Most of the epilogue is spent on what the kids do afterwards. I think there's another instance of the parents talking. Id have to double check.

Charche and Funi are clones. The latter very quite clearly.

God I am so fucking sick of seeing mobage doujins

>death
Is that a typo or they actually get the death penalty?
>Charche and Funi are clones. The latter very quite clearly.
Didn't expect that. Who are they clones of? I don't believe their parents have been shown yet.

I'm still a little unclear
Is intersex just a pc way of saying hermaphrodite or is it something different?

>even the series that do get doujins are all stock hentai plots where the artists clearly have no interest in the material beyond it being popular. The characters being written so OOC and with so little personality they may as well be any other stock character

Attached: misuzu bored.png (196x193, 29K)

Calling it now, charces parents had seira and family killed.

Xe's all natural, baby. Trannies are mere imitators by comparison.

Funi is the second clone of Quitterie's mom. She has two clones.

Quoting from an old thread:
>Hermaphrodites have both male and female sexual organs fully developed and functioning.
>An intersex person’s anatomy is different than what society expects. A person might look female on the outside, but have mostly male organs on the inside. Or a person might have sex chromosome that are different than expected.
>Intersex persons may have genitals that differ from what society expects. For instance, an intersex person might have a penis that is a lot smaller than usual. Or a clitoris that is a lot larger. Sometimes a person has a combination of both parts.

What society expects is a funny choice of words but I think I get the gist of it.

2 clones
Talk about efficient.

>Funi is the second clone of Quitterie's mom. She has two clones.
How rich can she be?

Why did they even make clones? Can they transfer their mind to another body or something?

I don't get it, they say that were glad they were able to move the ship closer to water but they clearly already landed right next to the water

Pretty cheap as far as organ banks go. Only a few bucks a week for food and water.

Yes, Zack already said his father research is about transfering memories a couple of episodes ago.

She is the doctor who physically transferred the DNAs to the eggs and made the cloning possible. The project was funded by the "parents", notice they are all wealthy, powerful and influential people. Money is not a problem.
You have to make sure that the body is not physically and mentally damaged, hence why it's wiser to follow its growth yourself. These people are pretentious shits thinking that their genes are unique, and don't want to trasfer their coscience to a defective body.

Maybe it was far for the tube to reach the water.

Boy I sure hope somebody got fired for that blunder

I'm pretty sure they needed the clones because the memory transfer was only viable with genetically identical bodies, hence this whole fiasco.

Ah, I didn't remember this detail.

Her shadow

Now that I think about it, do none of the parents have a partner or real children? Do the children all think their parents are single or something?

Ulgar is the second son and Luca's dad is married and later has a kid. Yun, Kanata and Quitterie never mention the mom/dad as far as I remember and the rest I forgot

Now the whole DNA scandal thing make sense.
Nice foreshadowing.

>yfw your husband brings home a fucking kid that looks exactly like them
Makes me wonder what kind of talks they had in Kanata and Ulgar's households.

So funi wasn't cloned from their mom but from Quitterie. Was that some kind of experiment?

Funicia was a dead give away that something isn't right even by anime standards.
