In the timeline of the Nanoha series, Forces was 6 years after Strikers and around chapter 20, we had a 2 and half month skip ahead. By halfway in September of this year, it would also of been 6 year 2 and a half month from it hiatus.
That just sad that the real world timeline have kept up with the series's timeline.

So yes, she is technically younger than her official age, but mentally, she is as should be. No he will start a new spin off about Kyoya 's child for the main timeline and return to Earth. I mean by forces Kyoya would be 35 years old and that is long enough to have been marry and having a 8-9 year old child. Shiro(Nanoha's father) was 37 at the start of the series and he already had a 19 year old kid.
Even if the mother of said kid(Kyoka) ran out on Shiro and stole everything from him and left the child behind.

The Nanoha fandom is generally comprised of people old enough, and newer watchers that follow through with catching up with the series are the sort of person, that none of the anons present are the type to start screaming defensively about how yuri is denying them their stupid self-insert fantasies that younger anons tend to get all huffy about. It also helps that the franchise doesn't tend to throw many bones to that sort of person outside of dakis, unlike how flipfloppy a lot of media is where they'll turn around and try to get both the yuri AND hetero crowds and wind up with a waste dump of a fandom who all hate each other.

The fact they wasted this on a movie Nanoha wasn't even the focal character in, and right before the denouement that isn't really about her either, came off as them just doing it for shock value. Didn't much care for it.

Nanoha has always featured Nanoha sticking her head into incidents that didn't originally have her as the primary focus because of her psychological state. It's not new at all to Reflection/Detonation.
You are correct that the explosion felt very shock value related though, even if the introspective scene was great. She recovers far too easily from it and it doesn't have the same impact or emotional weight that the main continuity incident it was seemingly supposed to match up with had. It doesn't help that it was executed kind of weird in that it came AFTER Nanoha already resolved everything by pushing herself super far past her limits rather than it being a direct consequence of her going too far (something else the main continuity incident did better). They mention how far past her own limit she is mid-Maxwell fight but then she goes way past that and nothing even happens as a result of that, but then she gets randomly blown up on and is totally fine even after all that. It's lame.

Short of them introducing even more characters with full fleshed out personalities, which was impossible, who/what exactly did you want the Knights to fight? Again, considering the limitations of the two movies, they could have shafted the Knights entirely and had them sit out with some excuse, but they didn't and instead gave even the ones who got shafted hard in StrikerS and Force some moments. I would've liked for Signum's fight in Detonation to have more screentime myself but even stuff like Iris's battle with Kyrie which had much more narrative relevance got cut out so they were pushing everything on all fronts as it was.
Also the last time they tried to set up a proper named character rivalry for Signum her fans threw a shitfit that's still continuing.

I was one of those fans and I now repent for doing that. Signum had her own character arc and awesome stuff in store for her but we never get to see that. At least back then she jobbed to a possible rival. The official version got the verb tense completely wrong. There's a subtle but important difference between having already passed a limit and being in the process of passing it. It implies that she did still have some fuel left in her tank. But your point that she seems to be able to push herself far past her supposed limit is valid, though one could argue that that's part of Nanoha's character.

She's struggling to even move, and the start of the movie shows the active time she can utilize the Formula stuff without kicking her own ass as a small window. Nanoha's no stranger to hurting herself to go past physical limits but the state she was in post-Maxwell leading right into her flying up to punch a satellite bitch in space with no issues until AFTER the deed was already done is a big stretch of the imagination and makes one wonder why they even established the Formula mode having any limits if they weren't going to be what bit her in the ass.

The beef I have with this is that they did nothing of importance once they got their proper upgrades (then they approached Yuri to job some more) and then in the next movies they're stuck fighting nobodies yet again. True, everyone jobbed to Eltria haxx but only NanoFate made up for it (I'm sorry Hayate, I'm so sorry).
