A spiritual successor with the same cast would be the way to go I think. Keep the singing and the cast, change everything else. Or maybe keep the setting too, just make it a completely new story with new characters.

They are used well sometimes, but there are some fights were you could literally cut out the part of the between when the alchemist summons them and when they are all defeated, and you wouldn't lose anything.

I'd buy it and probably play it several times over until I'd explored every nook and cranny in the game no matter how much it sucked. Hopefully it would be a good game too. Though I so enjoy Kaneko's brand of autism that I'd probably still like it so long as the actual gameplay was at least tolerable.

I like to think that if the staff and cast are still as passionate about it as they have been so far they could make a new cast that's just as likeable. It wouldn't be a replacement to the old cast, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be something equally likeable. The key to what makes Symphogear what it is is the love that goes into it.

It just becomes harder and harder to write things and they dont want to outscale everything like DBZ did or milk the same character arcs over and over again because really after they grow up and everything is said and done there isnt much for them to explore and sometimes its better to get a real ending than to fuck it up.

A movie or two, XDU event adaptations and OVAs could work. Making a new cast? Could work but it has to start from zero and it does make it more difficult when you spent 7+ years with a set of girls but they could always make different characters with different dreams and have fun with it.

I put quite a bit of work into a Symphogear full-conversion mod for Killing Floor 2 a few years ago. Never got anywhere with it because I have no skills in that area but it seemed like a perfect match. DMJii and Chris don't need major developments. Even Maria's can be lumped up in supporting Tsubasa. Biki will have her hands full with Miku shit but that's two or three major characters with developments with the rest just playing support.

There has been too much focus on the monsters. You cannot make them sympathetic after what they did especially when you're not showing us how characters we care about are taking it. They may as well left Tsubasa in her coma for a couple episodes for how little focus she had.

I think I get what's going to go down that thing is a cocoon but it's still got a closed eye and that thing is going to open up and start firing death beams. The gears want to just stop it and save Miku somehow while Fudo wants to kill it. Fudo with help from the analchemists and the gears are going to clash and in the middle of the battle Fudo's going to use the mindflaying to fully convince Tsubasa that Miku needs to die. The ending cliffhanger is Tsubasa slashing one of the gears(most likely Chris, Kirika, or Shirabe) and turning her blade to everyone.

Kanade dying was the best decision the show made. Nobody could have expected that especially when they pushed kanade as the main character.

There was so much good shit in these threads on how to fix gx, there was a nice light rewrite that doesn't change much so the show stays the same but the important scenes get changed so it makes sense and fixes all complaints
