Does this get any better at some point? I started reading it because it kept being recommended for people who liked Holyland, but so far all I've seen is Holyland for kids, with superpowers and nothing close to the depth of the manga that hooked me so bad three years ago.
Will I ever read something as good as Holyland, as far as martial arts/crime/night life goes?
The Breaker vs. Holyland
Yes keep reading
Does the super powers side fade away at some point? Does it become a bit more grounded as it goes?
Breaker New Waves is shit. Breaker was pretty solid. But holyland is more realistic and in my opinion much better than any of the breaker series. Also the supernatural element of Breaker does not go away.
Not OP, but around where? I dropped it around chapter 10
Bummer. I saw that it had similar themes to Holyland, mainly a bullied protagonist that wants to become strong and finds himself dragged into the world of fighting, but i find none of the emotionnal depth in here.
Try Hajime no Ippo
I've watch all the seasons of the anime, it's one of my all-time favourites. One day i'll take the big leap and start the manga!
>Does it become a bit more grounded as it goes?
I don't remember if it was the original Breaker or New Waves but at some point the MC basically becomes a fucking spiritual SSJ
Shit. Well at least I don't think it's bad in itself, rather that's it's inferior to something else i've read, so I haven't wasted my time on pure trash, that's a minor consolation.
Doesn't his master seal off his ki points in the end of the original so he could live a normal life without fear of getting assassinated? The hell did he get them back?
Damn I saw the pic and was hoping season 3 was being worked on.
he does but its a long thing where its gotten back. at first he can only use limited powers through drugs then gets them back legit little by lttle
In my opinion
>Holyland > The Breaker 1 > late The Breaker 2 >>>>> early The Breaker 2
However I will admit, it's been a while since a read The Breaker.
Anyone here ever watched either of the Holyland live action shows?
There's a Japanese one and a Korean one.
I only ever watched the Jap one but it was surprisingly alright. They generally stick very close to the manga, with some fights being almost 1:1 with the manga down to the shots matching the pages.
I watched a korean drama that felt like a Holyland ripoff a while ago, about a trader who screws up a deal and finds himself forced to live in the street and to fight for his survival. Again, it wasn't as good a Holyland.
I watched the first episode. Felt a bit weird that the live-action actors imitated manga pages with held poses and stuff, but it was... not bad, from what I remember.
It definitely had some interesting directing choices when it comes to things like that.
That coupled with the quite evident lower budget kind of help give it this unique charm that I don't think it'd have if it was some high budget super production, if that makes sense?
It's terrible, you got tricked.
>>trepar a un Arbol
Ya heard?
Yeah, I finished the highway fight and dropped it. Some people around the internet seem to genuinly enjoy it though!
