I watch Japanese animations and play Japanese games with dubbed voices, so personally I prefer if they use big brother instead of aniki or senpai.

That’s what they mean though. “Big bro” is better for onii-chan though.

Do people even call older siblings like this in english?

It should be translated as "bruh" instead.
