Nope; the "correct" translation is often just "you". In Japanese _any_ noun can basically be translated as "you" or "he" or "I" given the context because Japanese lacks true pronouns.

Now you can do this but the problem is that it sometimes ties into the plot. Like in Koi Kaze where Nanoka always addressed Kosiro with "onii-tyan" and Kosiro at one point requæsted that the former just use his name. One translation I read had translated "onii-tyan" till that point as "brother" often using third person constructs as well. In English that makes Nanoka look fucking retarded and makes Kosiro look like a gentleman for holding that in for so long. Who would want to be addressed by his sibling with baby language "Was brother waiting for me all this time?"; that sounds idiotic in English; in Japanese it sounds perfectly normal and Kosiro comes across as very distant for requæsting to be addressed by name so the translation misses the point by making the fault seem to lie with Nanoka rather than Kosiro so what do you do really as translator?

For a large part this is also not a matter of language but of culture; even within areas of Japan this differs quite a lot.

There are so many more things in dialogues that get translated in really weird ways that aren't just the well-known terms like "onii-tyan" by the way. A lot of translations really forcibly miss the point because to get the point across one would have to give the viewer a crash-course on Japanese and culture. "onii-tyan" is just the one everyone knows.
