this is some pretty shameless despair porn

There is only a handful of people in Yea Forums reading this. That aside it is shameless despair porn. Which part made you despair the most?

Just you wait, there's going to be a good end for Azumi.

for azumi maybe, but it seems just about everyone she gets involved with gets killed. sometimes really abruptly and unexpectedly.

when my self insert trap character was killed

Attached: 6 (3).jpg (800x1168, 167K)

the craziest death was that one guy she was going to fuck, but he chickened out at the last minute

>attack a samurai
>get slashed but somehow survive
>begin rebuilding your ideal model of government with your closest family and friends
>After some time, go batshit crazy and start purging your closest friends
>the ones that survive get hooked on drugs and lose themselves
>get suckered into this mining scam up in some hellhole mountain commune
>completely lose your sense of self
>the love of your life shows back up, but you try too hard and push her away forever .
>get really high and start seeing hallucinations
>slip and fall, hitting the back of your head on a rock and die buried in snow while your once QT ninja gf walks by

Some of these fucking character arcs, man.

Same for me. Seconds place is prostitue friend and the dying Samurai. And third is the scholar that was royally fucked over by Azumi's love interest.

That ultra comfy group assassination arc slowly turning into horror was a feat in despair.

Azumi is fucking dead man. When she saw that lil'tokugawa had no clue what was going on, she lost it. Her last friend is going to be killed. Her spymaster lost his ability to protect her. The shogun is going to order her assassination. Or order her to sudoku which at this point she will probably fucking do.

A genuinely tense moment where you're just begging the MC to get there in time.

Her still believing in him to the very end was too much.

Oh shit! I thought I was the only one who started reading this the other day. Well, I'll show myself out, since I'm barely at chapter 28 so far.

god the ending of the prostitute arc had this added aspect of emasculation that makes it even sadder.

-5 points from Azumi's faith in humanity.jpg

god it hurts, cannot even re-read that arc. When wholesome Azumi is betting up with her new pal that can actually understand her. While her pal is off on painkillers. It was a cruel foreshadowing of where that arc was going.

I would have had endless fun watching Azumi and her crew purge dissidents. Why couldn't the author give us atleast an whole arc of happiness? Why ;_;

Oh, yeah, that's why I read a 150 chapters and stop. It's hard to continue, the pattern becomes very obvious and tiresome after a while.
Azumi's awesomeness alone isn't enough.

Pic related
he should have just killed her at that moment instead of chickening out.

When the childhood friend whom she kissed let her kill him.

the pattern breaks up slightly at around 175
but yeah getting through those chapters around 150 is hard. Wtf was the artist thinking.

good luck

the worse part was when she was so happy to die

the part where she was tortured by the twins for what felt like an eternity.

That I have the raws and apparently there isn't a final confrontation, unless I got them incomplete.

>Wtf was the artist thinking.
I mean, it's a literal plot point that Azumi somehow embodies any character's ideal or goal, whether it's her beauty, her virginity, her skill with the sword, and that any who chase after it will inevitably have to pay with their lives to obtain it.

I think I read ~50 chapters of this a while back. Is the quality about the same throughout the manga or does it improve as it goes on, since I didn't like it enough to follow it as it updated

>emasculation
By now she must see all men as creepy penis monsters who die for laughable childish ideals. And she must see most women as walking rape cushions.

Yeah, author's style changes noticeably as the series goes on

Yu Koyama is pretty legendary. His manga Ganbare Genki is a masterpiece that everyone should check out.

Is Tenkai evil or not? I'm never sure.

He's lawful evil bordering on neutral, he's fine the the "pruning" of lives for a good cause or avoid major unrest and chaos, and of course, sends people on those missions with the risk of dying, but so far his motivations are selfless, he's more interested in keeping the Tokugawa in power to ensure stability (tho of course the whole issues of peasants vs buke, destitute ronins and the very issue of minor vassals like hatamoto, gokenin and ashigaru without posts due to peace time administrations are a whole different ballgame).

That's already one of my favorite genres. This was already on my read list but I gotta bump it to the top

>this is some pretty shameless despair porn
how is this any more despair porn than something like sasori reri or vagabound? Seems to me the author just wanted to present the cruelty of the age and sell good.

Then, what was the point of a relaunch?

Isn't there a sequel to this? Literally called Azumi 2?How is it?

Not a sequel, it's a retelling of the story, but instead of it happening after Sekigahara it's set during the years leading up to the Boshin war.

So does it only include the worst suffering Stories? Or is it like the two live action movies?

Like I said, it's a retelling of the story, different scenarios, different characters, what I remember is that the only constant is Azumi, Ryoma Sakamoto co-stars in it as a combination of Azumi's love interest (the wood carving dude) and Tenkai, but it's been some time since I saw the raws (and I also can't readmoon) so don't take my word for it.

Pleasantly surprised there's this many people following "Gaijin-chan can't keep a friend to save her life".

>Group assassination arc
That's the one that did it for me.

Where can I even download this? All of the older links on the scanlators site are dead and there isn't a torrent on the usual sites.
