The revalation was not just that he could kick, the importance was in him moving past Bakugo and All Might being his only source of inspiration, he imagined All Might as perfect so he figured he could just follow his footsteps. Then we see All Might go down, Deku and All Might promise his mother that he will do better. A couple chapters later we get the revalation, the image of Bakugo and All Might start cracking and he asks Ida for pointers, instead of just a jumpsuit that immitates All Might he also asks for support items from Mei.

You would have to be some sort of autistic if you think the importance is in him figuring out how to kick. When he saves All Might from the boulder All Might isn't proud because Deku does a sick kick, he is proud because he is taking independant steps towards becoming better than him, learning for others and finding his own path. But you don't fucking see that because your attention span only covers a single scene.

Basically I think they are "the same" but it comes across differently cause of their authors.
