2017 and 2018 were godly but mostly because 2015-16 were a borefest. 2019 has been okayish so far but it can't compete with how good the past 2 years were.

For some reason, 2018 had some pretty shit animation in many series- moreso than 2015-17 and more than 2019. Was a big series sucking up the better animators?

Looking back on 2018 there was nothing really memorable or quality. I was excited for the new HS DxD but it was really just ok at best. That show has never really recovered from BORN. DITF was flavor of the month garbage that, surprise surprise, no one talks about anymore despite retards spamming this board with it. Most people just watched the show as an excuse to spam this place with their shitty memes they stole from r/anime.
I expected Kaiji 3 from Tonegawa and was a little sore but that's 100% my fault.
