Animefags are the ultimate secondaries. 95% of everything animated is an adaptation of an existing media, and the other 5% is casual shit. It's just for people too lazy to read a VN or manga, or play a game. No other medium is so wholly composed of unoriginal works. Not only that, anime draws in normalfags, teens, and faggot casuals of the worst kind. What may have once been a decent, small community suddenly gets barraged with shitty memes, teen jokes, and flamewar starters. Take JoJo for example: it used to be a fairly niche manga and videogame franchise which got a good chuckle out of anyone who recognized it and was pleasant to discuss. In fact, it was one of this websites most loved stories. But, when it got animated, it drew in the worst kinds of people and became, amazingly, the new pinnacle of entry-level, casual-weeaboo, normalfag bait anime of the sort that ruins the whole community for years. I'm still fucking mad. Everything else, even if it is decent, is just ripped off of a better source and gilded up to please the lazy masses. The story, watered down if it's a VN or copy-pasted in a lesser quality with manga. Really, it is the lowest class of all nijigen media.

too long didn't read lmao

You are correct, patricians prefer reading the source material instead.

If you don't like anime, why are you on Yea Forums?

There are people who appreciate the craft of animation. Also music and composition. Manga and VN are good but none can replicate the chills provoked by an awesome intro or a poignant moment acompanied by based insert song.

This post should unironically be stickied.

I never said I didn't enjoy anime. But personally, it's not worth the damage it does to 2D media.
>inb4 just ignore shitty fans
Well, here they don't matter, but in japan they made a huge impact on the industry by bringing in tons of raiju

Manga is truly the intellectual’s medium

>here they don't matter
They ruined Yea Forums.

>Implying manga and VN don't attract shitty fans of their own
Come on.

I don't know, I thought I was on ANIME & manga

Manga, maybe. VNs used to be super niche and only got noticed as a side-effect of manga and anime.

VNs are still pretty niche. Most have no legal releases and normalfags cant read them on their phones so that cuts out like 90% of modern anime fans.

Look at this post. Look at this post and weep. This is the future we never chose, and the one we tried so desperately to prevent.

I don't know, between fate and a number of WVNs that came out, I think it's gonna go downhill soon. I've seen a disturbing number of posts like "I hate how all VNs have ero-scenes". Leave my erotic-fiction alone damn it! Some people still use it to jerk off!

>manga gets threads on Yea Forums
>fun, relaxed, good posts, minimal shitposting
>manga gets an anime
>it airs
>threads devolve into normalfag shitposting, discordteens, r/anime etc.
OP is completely right and anyone who disagrees is probably one of said normalfag groups.

lol I'm not gonna bother reading some 40 hours long shitty visual novel to impress some virgins online

Then feel free to leave.

A way to keep this is to make actual friends to talk with when the threads are still small and keeping in contact with them via discord

I especially love how threads get invaded by contrarians if adaptation is popular with normalfags. It gets even worse when sales figures are released.

While this post is correct, reading translated manga is still stupid.
The best thing you can do is learn 日本語

I agree. The smugness convinced me.

yeah! why would people who don't watch anime come to a board such as "Yea Forums - Anime & Manga"?
I guess we will never understand this weird phenomenon.
>none can replicate the chills provoked by an awesome intro
VNs have OPs too, though.
in fact a lot of JRPGs have OPs
I hate you and everything you represent.
this, sadly.
