I remember Sanji/Zoro used to be pretty big a few years ago, but has since fizzled out, but aside from that BNHA inherited a lot of Naruto's fanbase or at least inherited people who would've been Naruto fans 5-10 years ago and Horikoshi seems to share Kishi's knack for writing weirdly homoerotic friendships/rivalries. I can't blame anyone for thinking Kirishima is railing Bakugou with how autistic Bakugou acts towards everyone else to the extent of refusing to have his life saved by anyone who isn't Kirishima and with how obsessed Kirishima is over a guy who would objectively be a fucking awful, irritating autist of a friend to have, same goes for Deku's weird beaten wife dynamic with Bakugou. Aside from that a lot of the characters just have good color dynamics or personality archetypes which is enough for a lot of people.

Also any series that has decent female characters and normal male friendships will typically have few fujos, thus why Black Clover's fanbase isn't full of fujos in spite of being a post 2000s shonen with a fair few cute twink characters in the main cast.

user, all the biggest ships in the fanbase outside of Ochaco/Deku are gay ships.

It's decently popular with fujos. But OP is a series with a main character that is so CLEARLY not interested in romance that it tends to put a damper on shipping.
