But if you want to be cautious you might want to hire a proxy shipping service like FromJapan or BigInJapan or such which will accept domestic shipments, combine them all into a large package, and send them as one or fewer shipments to you.

I ordered the SSR fishtail parka but decided to cancel it and get an actual M51 parka with liner and faux fur hood. Shit is snazzy and comfy as fuck, however the faux fur is scratchy. Liner is godly soft and smooth.

Do Mandarake/other resell stores have a holding period for items once they're brought in to sell? I know that's a thing in the US, so I'm wondering if C96 items don't pop up immediately

Pulled a card from the mail saying they tried to deliver my package with my keychains (they didn't) and failed and I can pick it up at the office tomorrow. Meanwhile Amazon (who actually tried) had no issue delivering the next LN volume. I like the white bordering to go with the cover art, but it does make the spine not quite fit in with the rest.

I just wish the volume was thicker. It's true #2 was pretty thick so he kinda went pretty slim on #3, then #4 and #5 were good sized, but this one's the thinnest, yet the translations aren't any faster (I blame the manga for slowing them down, it's the same TL) and this will have to tide me over till November.
Also as you can see it kinda fucks up the spines. Sure they never were all one color, but this one's all bright and even uses a different font color. I'll have to strategically put the scale in front of it when it arrives.

I'm looking to start reading the LN soon.

I'm fine with them. There's apparently the occasional mistake because Carlo pulls up some obscure reference to a weird historical thing and the TL didn't know it, but Carlo is also an autistic nerd, so that's bound to happen.
It "feels" like a translation that maintains certain oddities from Japanese grammar and speech that help clarify inclinations in the character's thoughts, like the distinction between "I" and "Tanya" in the narrative voice that gradually lessens and lessens as the volumes go on without making the occurence of stating ones (full) name in Japanese sentences occassionally be mistaken as one of those intentional distinctions rather than a turn of phrase. I didn't exactly read it in both languages though, so I can't swear on it.
The only thing I could really complain about happens in Afterwords, so outside of the story, when it seems like the mentions of "Youjo Senki" by Carlo as specifically the TITLE, rather than refering to the series BY its title, are stringently replaced by "The Saga of Tanya the Evil", as if he was referring to the series, when it seems like he was referring to the title as the "title", if that makes sense.

Quick practical question with regards to ordering doujinshi from melonbooks. I've used BiJ as a forwarder before and had no issues, but I saw 2you4 mentioned in the guide as a cheaper alternative. But, in their prohibited goods section they include porn as illegal to ship. Is that actually the case for them?

Secondly, regarding shipping pricing, I've only ever bought doujinshi in Japan before so I don't have a ballpark for shipping pricing. Would it be worth it to have BiJ hold on to my package (16 books, several 50~ pages but most 16-20, one 100~ pager) and wait for 6 more that are preordered from C96 to come in and combine them, or just repack and ship as they come?

I found a figure I really want for cheap on ebay from a Chinese seller, with only stock pictures and all the signs of an obvious bootleg. However, the name of the real manufacturer is listed in the title, and the item is claimed to be in its original box. Nowhere on the page does it say it's a Chinese version. If I order it and submit proof to ebay that it was falsely advertised, can I get a refund without having to ship it back?
