I want to like the show, but how you make a show about science and realism that fantasy doesn't exist and whatever and put a highschooler killing lions with one punch or catching arrows launched at 5 meters of him in like the second or third episode.

All those lions are descended from a tiny population that broke out of a zoo. With all the inbreeding that went on over 3700 years, they should have died out entirely. If by some miracle they lasted the entire duration intact, it's perfectly plausable the Lion equivalent of brittle bone disease could be endemic to the population.

No genuine charisma though and as a leader that flaw is deadly. People were willing to abandon his primitivist stance at the mere notion that there's an established civilized society elsewhere. Those that didn't were even more hardline wanting pure survival of the fittest.
