So will Nanoha learn to love herself?
Nanoha
No, because she's shit and doesn't deserve to be loved.
Main timeline Nanoha did to some extent by the time of StrikerS, it can only be assumed that movie timeline Nanoha will by the time she grows up as well. It's too bad that the recovery from getting blown up didn't have nearly as big an impact on her as the Gadget Drone attack did because that was the trigger for it in the main timeline.
Pink hair looks like Louise.
Not flat or short enough.
She doesn't learn to love herself untill she meets Vivio and learns she has to protect her.
I'd argue that her hospital stay is what kicked it off, she learned she had to take care of herself and not go so overboard all of the time with such a huge reality check slapping her in the face. She knows that if she doesn't look after herself she'll wind up in another situation where she really WON'T be able to fly again, and teaches the same thing to her students. Having to also live for Vivio does solidify it more though I suppose.
The hospital taught her she was human. Vivio taught her she's more than that.
Is detonation a TSAB-edited training movie too?
I'm wondering because nanoha's injury during detonation might be the "real version" of what vita mentioned during strikers.
It does have a commentary track by the Vivid Strike cast implying that it is, but it's not at all based in fact like the others and they seem to be taking a different route where Reflection and Detonation are off in their own continuity as far as our own experiencing of it goes.
Good question. Assuming this holds water for her main timeline incarnation I wonder if Vivio helped her overcome that issue. Nanoha is way more relaxed and mellow by ViVid.
Haha no. She'll just learn how to sacrifice herself and her body better for cuter girls and bigger odds. My poor assassin bred lonely magic child ;_;
Cats? Why cats? It's a bit anti-climatic.
Also do we have data on how they restored Nanoha's body? The movie wasn't clear and sites I've read say she got cyborg replica replacements for her missing arm and eye.
None. Just be glad we got verification and not a cop out.
Other source says they were restored thanks to the nanites in Nanoha's body at the time. So maybe they're artificial yet advanced enough to be indistinguishable from her own flesh and blood.
Btw, did Hayate kept the Tome of the Night Sky at the end or was taken to Eltria with Yuri?
From what I seen in Nanoha Detonation, she only lost her arm and not her eye
Her eye seemed damaged, though.
She went blind in that eye, go look again.
We have no idea what exactly happened and won't until proper Guidebook scans turn up.
Why would she get a robot looking arm when cyborgs look 100% human?
Maybe the subs I got were shitty but it seems Yuri mentioned that she wasn't originally part of the Tome of the Night Sky but rather that she was added later meaning the true origin of the book and the nights in the movies remains a mystery.
You're correct in that Yuri was not originally part of the Book in the movie continuity, the Knights had no idea who she was because she was added well after the fact to try to get past Nachtwal for future users.
The Tome of the Night Sky's origins there are more or less as originally stated in A's without the twists Gears of Destiny threw into the mix.
