So long ago I don't even remember this, but I think by this point, Rumiko couldn't be arsed to keep track of the literally dozens of characters, and just filed her as "Japanese pancake Shampoo"(also causing the previous and the latter). In contrast, I remember her kindness in taking in the homeless Konatsu, even if she had practical reasons for doing so(super-cheap labour, except for the first day, where he ran her business at a major loss, since he had no real concept of money). This actually makes Shampoo look even more like shit, since Mousse would literally do anything for her, and she has always repaid him with scorn and (kind of) cuckoldry.

Eh, I never had a problem with Shampoo treating Mousse so badly because he brings it on himself. Mousse is basically Shampoo's Tatewaki Kuno. She's not interested, she's never been interested, and he's just using Ranma as an excuse to deny that she was telling him flat out "I don't like you and I don't want to date you" for years before Ranma even met.
And yes, Shampoo pushes herself on Ranma, but she doesn't really have a choice; tribal law says she's his wife, and she's already been punished once for breaking the law with the curse. You can imagine all kinds of nastiness waiting for her if she just gives up on Ranma.
