The anime ending was better. Everything in the series was literally building up to this. In fact, after the prologue the very first episode talks about fear and how Maka says that fear can make people stronger. Literally all the villains are preying on the characters fear, people keep caving into their fear, which causes them to be consumed by the kishin or other demons. (literally in black stars arc, the masamune manages to possess people by sensing fear in them).

The Kishin is created through fear, meaning even if the protagonist uses some super attack to obliterate him, he will just respawn till the end of time as he eventually wins.

By not relying on brute strength and using a power that's within everyone, she was able to do psychological damage to the Kishin and made him realize how pointless his goals were. Maka literally uses the same philosophical concept the Kishin used for his power, to defeat him and when the Kishin understood this, he gave up and realized how meaningless the battle was.

He was literally fighting so that people will understand him, and yet in the end Maka opened his eyes to a new perspective to get rid of him once and for all. That's probably the most original shounen ending you're ever going to get. The thing that all the villains thought was a human weakness, turned into being their greatest strength.

I think the biggest problem the anime had was the whole coupling plot with Meisters and their weapons teaming up, only for the big bad to be defeated by a single girl who just acts courageous and punches a few times.
It's as if they're saying there's no point to the concept of the team-up in the first place.

Then there was the whole revealing Maka is also part weapon for no fucking reason. Why even put that in there?

I get what they're going for. I really do. But it was messy and handled poorly.

>Courage punch.

>Better.

Soul Eater deserves a brotherhood more than FMA deserved it.

I liked it, it prevented an endless cycle and vain ending. The concept of teaming up helped them even reach the end in the first place. Kishin is a manifestation of something that exists within everyone however, it NEEDED to be beaten by the same concept. It makes 0 sense for teamwork to beat him. He wouldn't have been mentally defeated.

Yes, courage punch was better and you have no argument.

The manga sucks and ended in boobs and a moe NOT spin off

>Soul Eater deserves a brotherhood more than FMA deserved it.

LOL no!

FMA manga (with no shit fan service) > soul eater manga with tits in soul’s face

Let's be entirely honest. It was a BONES ending. The fact it was slightly thought out was nice.

And then we saw how the actual ending went, and suddenly, it wasn't nearly as bad.

Thematically, I like the idea of recognizing that trying to beat a being based on fear by grouping up and throwing all your strength at it is inherently self defeating. Engaging him alone and bare handed, while demonstrating Maka is still fucking nuts, is entirely discarding the strength the Kisshin has.

It's still an asspull, and only ended up being better because jesus christ that manga ending...

>and only ended up being better because jesus christ that manga ending...

Is soul eater good? because I ended up dropping fire force like a hot potato since the characters are legit really bad

It’s shit. The manga is shit. The animation is the only good thing about it

Nah, the problem is that the anime cuts the entire Book of Ebion Arc and then doesn't provide consequences for the final arc

You do realize that Crona is still sealed away on the moon, right?

How is it an asspull, when the concept was brought up from the beginning and 100% of the arcs in the stories were based around that concept. It was foreshadowed practically every single episode. literally one villain takes over someone, by telling them to throw away their fear. Sid literally talks about how he isn't scared of anything and people need to throw away their fear. It was the most hammered in concept, it was the thing that created Kishin in the first place, it was the thing that made Kishin get stronger, it was the thing that controlled Crona, it was the primary motivational factor behind characters, and it was the main weakness of ALL the protagonists. Literally Kidd's only flaw was his phobia. Black Starr tried to drown out his fear through overconfidence. Maka was the only character who used her fear as strength. You'd have to try your hardest to find an arc that didn't have fear as its focus.

Also calling it an asspull, would imply that the Kishin is an asspull. (Despite them explaining him since the beginning and literally everything in the story being based around the Kishin and his reincarnation)

Somehow it's an asspull to use the same concept as the antagonist?

Soul Eater is good, Yea Forums has trolls in it. You can't find a single person in this community that can put up an argument as to why soul eater is bad. Look at how simplified their responses are. All 1 sentence "it's shit" with no explanation.

I literally just finished the manga and it was great. I heard the ending is bad and it "ends in boobs", I'm glad that wasn't the case at all

>literally
>literally
>literally
>literally
Wanna know how I can tell you're a teenager?

>Then there was the whole revealing Maka is also part weapon for no fucking reason. Why even put that in there?
Wait, wouldn't she be if her father is a scythe? Sorry, I barely remember this show at this point. Did I get that wrong?

That's not how genetics works.

>Soul Eater is good, Yea Forums has trolls in it.

LOL

>we'll never get a brotherhood version of Soul Eater

Attached: crying cat.jpg (749x694, 96K)

All we'd get is the book of eibon and the moon so who cares. It's not enough material for a brotherhood version.

is brotherhood worth watching? I read the manga and watched 2003 already

TL;DR but I agree it's better, even if just for how boring and tedious the manga ending is.

if you like fma then yes, the second half is completely different

>series whose entire combat system revolves around synchroniing with team mates ends with a 1 v 1 one shot
No, take you're gay "courage vs fear" themes and shove it

I'm rewatching soul eater right now. The fights are primarily individual internal battles they have with their own hang-ups, then when they get over the hang up, they use the team attack. Literally 90% of these battles has one character monologue about their past and their issues. Tsubaki arc was focused on Tsubaki. Black Star arc was focused on black star. There wasn't a Black Star + Tsubaki arc or any shit like that you speedwatching retard.

Hmm, but in real life, scythes can't have children. Who are we to say that anime got it wrong.

people who like the anime always point towards the boob ending in the manga because they have nothing else to say because the manga is objectively better. Crona, Black Star, Death the Kid are GOATs in the manga.

>Crona is still sealed away on the moon
It's okay, Crona will return and become a firefighter.

Attached: souleatermoon.png (906x1300, 93K)

>Crona, Black Star, Death the Kid are
Shit you perv

Literally wrapping courage around her fist to hurt a seemingly invulnerable foe is stupid and bad.

But that picture clearly shows that the events of Soul Eater haven't concluded yet.

>t. illiterate trendfollower

I thought it was stupid the day the episode aired, it wasn't a trend yet.

>The anime ending was better
same goes for FMA

>they use the team attack.
Why are you arguing with someone you agree with?

How much convincing does Maka need to agree to anal?

Yes. The first 15 episodes or so will be a little tedious since it's a heavily abridged version of the first half of 2003.

Its ok,the character designs are good and some of the characters are actually decent.
Chrona is best girl, until she isn't.

So, did both hit him? Cuz really the other one should understand since her sister has been feeling her up too.

Is alright, the first arcs are pretty nice, is got some intriguing world building the characters are funny the art gets super nice and stylized in the middle and then it just kinda stops.
The art gets progressively softer and less dynamic the longer it goes and on the last third everything becomes super forgettable, the humor also becomes mostly dicks jokes and fanservice too. I seriously can't remember what happened after they rescued Kidd from the book of Eibon.
At least the anime's got some jams tho

You're absolutely right about everything.
Soul Eater anime ending is a pleb filter.

The art is Soul Eater was godly for the better portion of the series.

Attached: se.jpg (564x791, 114K)

It became a fucking clusterfuck
>"Lets go save chrona!"
>"no lets go to the moon!"
>"wait no! chrona has the kishin!"
>"nevermind,the kishin has chrona"
>"who is noah?"

God, this fucking battle was amazing.

It was the highlight of the Aracne arc.

Liz and Kid such a godly ship

God Soul is lucky. Has two version of perfection to choose from.

>girl

I would argue that everything after the manga ran out was piss poor, leading up to courage punch literally the most anticlimactic ending to an anime I have ever seen. Total wasted potential.

Only time where a manga ending turned out to be even worse than the bad anime only ending.

the punch was the highlight of the anime.

The school invasion was the highlight.

My favourite parts were the school invasion and the one where they fight the big mosquito fuck.

I still have no idea why the mangaka did that shitty-ass ending.
Did he genuinely think it was good?

Seeing how bad fire force is, I will assume he's a hack.

The only thing I liked about the anime ending was that they got Crona back. If the author had kept at it a little longer and actually resolved the series instead of leaving it with a sequel hook, that would have been fine.

This. We saw a cute girl with a scythe. We expected her to USE IT. >:O

Counter-point.

Both endings were absolute dogshit, and if you honestly think courage punch was good you have worms in your fucking brain.

Let's also not forget the dumb fucking shit with Maka having her half-weapon ass awakening while she was passed out. That would have been interesting if every brought up at all prior to that part or used in battle ever previously. Like what the fuck were they even thinking and who wrote the last two episodes? Somebody should lose their fucking job.

The story isn't good, but this series is full of, for the lack of better word, soul. The entirity has enjoyable jackass characters, memorable moments and cool stylish fights.

Whats going on here?

The only thing they had to change for that would have been Maka finding courage in others. And the whole thing ending in a giagantic soul resonance of all weapons and meister.

Couldnt get into this show at all, the protags design is 10/10 though.
