I watched the remake and it's better in that it's more visually appealing, Yang gets extra backstory, and characters are arguably introduced better. It's problem is many of the character designs suffer, the ships are in CGI and when on-screen don't portray the actual scale of the battles, and many of the battles seem dumbed-down or too simple and straightforward. The remake also probably won't adapt all of the content.
