Does Yea Forums like it?
Just watched it, might be the best film I've seen in ages
Redline
Look up the production behind this movie, and it'll make you love it even more.
A masterpiece that every person on this planet should know.
I'll admit, the giant monster fight caught me by surprise.
>7 years in production
how is this even commercially viable?
Yeah it's great
It's not, it bled money at every turn and was also a massive commercial flop.
It's also why the last ~20 or so minutes of the movie are missing, they rushed it because studio had enough and wanted to close the project.
I watched Redline in a theater. It's "okay" and interesting for being different, but the story is filled with unnecessary distracting side plots that last ten seconds each, and it has way less actual racing than you'd expect. The best racing scene is also the very first one, so if you just watch the first five minutes or so of it, you've already seen all the good parts.
It's still cool, but not the timeless masterpiece people tout it as.
truly a legendary tale
the studio was so mad at koike for that that they threw him out after that.
Stupid on their part cause their talent was quitting and dying like flies.
Koike now chilling making lupin and madhouse went bankrupt, got bought out, and still isn't back to its former glory.
On one hand they are doing fine now but on the other hand they had to make dc and marvel trash for a while and they have to use a property they already own for every other project
At least they are doing better than production IG and Gainax.
one of the best movies I've ever seen
I totally get it about the side plots, but in a way, it kinda hit home the 'wacky racers' feel, where you don't know what the fuck is going on.
Ffs I shouldn't lurk Yea Forums until I watch all the anime I noted. Everytime I come there's something "new" to watch.
>that sudden ending
kek
If Redline is new to you then you haven't been lurking long at all, let alone long enough to post.
yeah it was pretty good
Now that you say it, the ending was quite abrupt, I loved the opening scene with the race though
one for the soul
As others have said, it wasn't. This was one mans passion project, and what could have been Madhouse's swan song.
I gotta disagree here, only one of the subplots felt dull which was the one with the cop, the rest served to give a sense of blending, let this race was combining different genres, from superhero, to magical girl, to mecha etc etc, which made the whole thing feel even grander in scale.
absolute 10 from the first minute to the last
I enjoyed it. There's lots to like but the animation is especially killer. I also have the track "Yellow Line" from the OST in my driving playlist.
>7 years hand drawn
>in the time since Redline has came out we could have had another one
fuck

Are you new to anime and Yea Forums?
It's what the Speed Racer movie should've been.
you better not be talking shit about the speed racer movie
I'm trying to figure out a joke about them crossing the finish line just as JP and Sonoshee did.
Both are great
Movies with animation that good tend to just be a series of unrelated events loosely tied together by a minimal plot. The only thing that felt out of place to me was Funky Boy and Volton merging with that lizard monster.
UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ
>giving a shit about anime knockoffs made by degenerate trannies
> Yellowline was better and more fun race then redline
Prove me wrong
The constant upbeat soundtrack reminds me of Run Lola Run
Not if you want to kill Madhouse for good.
