Has Yea Forums seen or read this?
just posting best girl
No one have read this and doesn’t even know the manga exists because Yea Forums is too busy putting Kyoanus on a pedestal for "inventing" Koe no Katachi
You made this thread yesterday, also
Yea Forums has shit posted prolifically about it.
i found it was stupid, forced drama
i want to marry that tomboy
I didn't make it far in this game, but this movie reminded me of it
was good, runing girl best one, actually helps the mc
sorry I didn't do a thorough check of the archive
I just ctrl+f "shape"
cried every time I watched it
>too busy putting Kyoanus on a pedestal for "inventing" Koe no Katachi
this sprang to mind more than once while watching
It's emotionally manipulative. Much of the drama comes from random chance and not from the characters or story.
It's like watching something written by a teenager.
>i found it was stupid, forced drama
it actually felt pretty upbeat all thing considered
the drama felt genuine but Ueno was a total cunt
Read and seen it. Only teared up with the movie.
After Story and VEG have far better catharsis by the way
>Much of the drama comes from random chance
the bike thief was the only thing that was random
>not from the characters or story
doesn't everything stem from personality flaws or moments of weakness of the individual characters?
As was the random chance he ran into the classmate in cat ears.
As was the random chance he made a friend exactly at the appropriate time to further the story.
As was the random chance he walked into her about to commit suicide.
As was the random chance she would be at the bridge the moment he ran away from the hospital.
It's like you didn't bother watching the movie. Seriously, it was like a story written by a teenager trying too hard to copy the work of his betters.
>As was the random chance he ran into the classmate in cat ears
it was her job to greet people
they don't live in akihabara, user
>As was the random chance he made a friend exactly at the appropriate time to further the story.
authors can't introduce new characters?
>As was the random chance he walked into her about to commit suicide
best girl sent him to their apartment to get his dick wet
>As was the random chance she would be at the bridge the moment he ran away from the hospital.
literally your only fair point in regards to randomness
you really think the climax of the film would have been better without an instant of the fantastical?
plus obviously it was the grandmother's ghost, but you probably don't even worship your ancestors you filthy fucking gaijin
Things should happen because of the choices of the characters, as I said
Not random chance. Unless your story is about chance, or fate, or something. Like, if they were fated to not be together and the universe kept throwing shit at them to make sure they can't get together. That might be an interesting story. Or maybe they're fated to be together and no matter the difficulties they'll always find each other.
I dunno, whatever. Come up with something, but that's not what happens. The writer needs drama so he, (or more likely she I imagine) write's themselves into a corner and to keep the story moving forward drops them into a situation by having them run into someone from their past at the appropriate time or have him help a really clingy kid exactly when he needs to with the exact personality he needs to make it work.
This is literally the definition of contrived.
How about an example of what works by Kyoani. Kanon, still my favorite of their stories.
Yuichi meets Ayu in the shopping district by random chance but this is because she's been waiting for eight years and her wish is still in effect.
Yuichi meets Shiori at school waiting in the courtyard but she's been waiting in the courtyard for days, most likely weeks. It's just he's the first to decide to meet her.
Yuichi finds Mai in the school fighting monsters but this is something she's done for years and most nights nothing happens.
He meets Makoto as a fox on the hill but she's waited for years to find him and when she does seeks him out immediately as a human.
The only contrivance is Akiko's car accident. I won't include meeting the original Makoto because she's not important to the story. All the events in the story happen because Yuichi is returning to a town he left a decade before and the relationships he built up in the years before he left. Even searching for the angel with the final wish takes effort by all the characters Yuichi has befriended at school.
I say she was a cunt and it's true but at least it was more believable than this sappy bitch
>I bullied a disabled kid but I'M THE VICTIM
fucking shit writing
The story falls naturally from the choices of the characters which is based on their personality and beliefs. Things don't just happen to move the story forward but because these are the things those characters have made for themselves and the consequences they face because of their decisions. It is the opposite of contrived (I'll give you Akiko's car accident but the drama in Nayuki's story is not her mother in a coma but dealing with being abandoned by Yuichi for Ayu).
>Not random chance. Unless your story is about chance, or fate, or something. Like, if they were fated to not be together and the universe kept throwing shit at them to make sure they can't get together. That might be an interesting story. knnw shitter detected
>knnw
Legitimately curious what this is. I have a degree in literature if you're wondering.
>boomerspacing
hey I thought you were talking to me
ueno chose to work as a greeter that's why we meet her
one could argue as to whether or not one can truly "choose" to be a sex worker
but luckily that wasn't the case since it was a cat cafe
yuzuru chose to help her sister find love
and as such ishida arrived in time to save her
ishida chose to help the fat boy and did so as peacefully as possible
which allowed the fat boy to find ishida's bike
nothing was "appropriate" about their meeting
the students were attending classes
and on that particular morning fat boy (who chooses to be fat btw) was an easy mark for some street tough
and if the bridge climax bothered you that bad
clearly you have never been in love
try some suspension of disbelief next time user
thx for the recommendation though
Yuzuru is a miracle of the universe
I'm sad she will never exist
>fucking shit
I envy you for your lack of regret
nothing from your past lashes out at you today?
nothing you would give everything to take back and change?
like I envy you
you wouldn't believe the mark I've left on this world
I believe user meant to say "known shitter detected"
yeah ive seen people praise kyoani for making knk but it was adapted, while it was beautifully directed and the sound direction was amazing, that doesnt mean they really made it.
Your Name
so Yea Forums's opinion is that the movie is better than the book?
Lily best girl
I thought of this guy whenever nishimiya opened her mouth
desu it felt forced and the characters weren't very fleshed out. I don't even read the manga but even I saw the constraints of it being in movie format.
Don't know about Yea Forums but I found the movie more impactful than the manga, yes
imagine being put in a chokehold by Ueno and her soft legs haha
Kimi no Na wa was better
>I cried so much
>thinking emotions make humans weak
Emotions make humans act erratically and irrationally instead of logical and calculated
It had a some funny moments, the drama didn't touch me that much.
I thought the main characters were shitty and too stupid for such a history that tries too hard to be mature. Especially the fMC, who has no personality outside of her deafness. Everyone else was fine though.
It also had a lot of not-perfectly-executed melodrama. The suicide scenes were sloppy for me, at least; and I thought the bullying part was not that realistic. I mean, I get it, you have to make your characters have some kind of hurdle to overcome, but why make the defining characteristic of everyone else besides the cast as "just hate the MC". Bullying is more moved by indifference than by straight up hate.
Even if you want to portray the ex-MC friend as a hypocrite, why just having him hate the MC?, just because?
I don't know, it's good. The visuals are amazing, the OST was incredible yeah. But it's pretty much baby's first "emotional" story, exactly like Clannad. Many of the ones that praise it could get better manga that deal with the same themes much more perfectly, and some other that are more mature.
There's so many little things in DDLC that come back to haunt you.
But she does exist, user. In our hearts.
I wish Ueno would step on me and spit in my mouth to be quite honest
That's true.
funny way to spell Suzu
She should have became a professional prostitute. She would have made so much money.
*tips*
Have any of you autists had xs fall off in your life? I'm feeling like they're starting that way for me.
Just yesterday I was picking up some messages on the way home and I noticed I could actually keep eye contact with the cashier without any sort of angst.
Usually I just make brief eye contact and give semi-scripted responses.
Why is Miyako so underrated?
good art is transformative for both the artist and the audience
were you able to empathize with ishida-kun?
Well seeing an awful MC trying to redeem himself made him interesting imo.
i cried just because he got a gf and not me
What? You don't have a girlfriend? Fuck loser!
