It's incredible how in the year of 2019 the japs can still deliver manly AOTY material. Season 1 was pretty good.
Kengan Ashura
it's fucking shit
It was mediocre at best read the manga
its ok to have a wrong opinion
>Watching the anime
Only plebs watch the anime, if you want the true MOTY experience you read the manga, preferably Son of Ogre
Is this as good as its spin-off?
Fuck off netflix shill. There's literally no way anyone could think that shitty adaptation with ps2 CGI is good
being Kengan anime director is too tough
Is this anime adaption actually good or is everyone meming about it being bad?
>Not reading both Baki&Kengan
>Not enjoying them both immensely and still watching the anime simply to see how they did it.
Depends. Do you throw an autistic fit at the mere hint of cgi?
I fucking loved it. The CGI is hideous, but literally everything else is everything I could have possibly wanted and more. The fight scenes have good, clear choreography with nice and meaty hits, and the sound is overall really nice IMO.
See above. It really does look atrocious at times, but if you can get past that, it's genuinely very fun.
Its not bad, but its also plenty flawed, the manga set some high standards, and the anime cutting scenes out for the sake of fitting more fights in when Kengans strength is the balance between comfy&fighting didnĀ“t necessarily help.
That said, the Openings pretty good.
>yamashita shadow boxing to ohma
Fuck that's peak comfy.
The whole Opening nailed the Ohma/Kazzy dynamic to have it properly look like they both are in it together.
>Ohma drops from fighting/Kazzy drops from work overload.
>Ohma faces a pack of thugs/Kazzy faces a pack of his superiors.
>Ohma beats said thugs by beating them up/Kazzy apologizes his way out.
>Both stand in the ring in their own way and facing their crucial parts in their past.
>Kazzy and his NEET son being a crazy fucker, both distancing themself from another/Ohma and Nikos death/Setsuna.
>Then to drive it home both simultaneously shadowboxing.
The Opening is pretty well executed to focus on both the Kengan and the Ashura equally, a thing the anime itself somewhat failed then by cutting out Ohma helping Kazzys family life by beating the crap out of his delinquent sons gang.
i hated the CGI at first since its the natural response. but now i'm okay with it.
Its pretty good but leaves a lot of material from the manga out, such as best girl karla, she only gets 4 scenes and only talks in one of them.
also they cut out the uni student turned manager who is saved from debt and wins big because of Ohma. things like that
its still pretty good, i enjoyed it more than i thought. just wished they could of done better animation and included more of the fun Karla parts in.
the 3DCG looks awful outside of the fight scenes (the fight scenes are pretty good) but the flashbacks that use 2D stills are actually well done. The pacing is pretty bad, they cut a bunch of shit from the manga, including entire characters and fights, but still didn't even finish the first half of round 1 in 12 episodes
OP of the year material though
looks like shit
decent va
cuts story
some censorship
The animation for the fights is good. The problem is the fact that the models are weird and ugly
I feel bad for the anons whose waifus got cut, but luckily they left in best girl Matsuda
no gaolang fight no watch
The style for the flashbacks also was a surprisingly good choice, for being somewhat minimalistic those worked well.
>3D CGI+Netflix
>AOTY
choose one
It's actually decent, but the lack of comfy parts in between fights ruins it
The ending music is litty
Dumbbell is better
after the Kengan Association absorbs Purgatory, they'll start a women's division and Hibiki will be the second ranked fighter
the manga's art is absolute dogshit i'd rather watch cgi
sakura ate ohma
