He finds a much more primal society that hasn't yet fallen to complete apathy, but realizes it is set on the same path as the surface world. The entire surface world has fallen to nihillism. They have lost their meaning and are instead awaiting the inevitable end without lifting a finger. Apart from that, Ichise is prophesized to destroy the world and nobody could change that in the end, so how does that not look bleak and nihillistic to you.

Everything I described, and the existentialism you mentioned requires some sort of nihillistic premise to exist. If the world is doomed and you are a Christian, there is no need to search for a meaning of life, since you already had one to begin with. None of this really applies to Texhnolyze characters. The show doesn't really try to propagate Christian values at all. Neither does it propagate nihillism, instead Konaka rejects it. But the themes definitely are present.

It doesn't involve Christian values at all, but it makes heavy use of the Christian worldview, as do other Konaka works. Lain in particular.

I actually agree with you to some degree, I'm not well versed in this. I do not recognize concrete philosophies, I recognize patterns, and I guess I have associated terms with those patterns and those might not be exactly correct upon closer inspection. I never wanted to argue terms anyway, I wanted to point out Texhnolyze and SSR follow a similar pattern here () and here (), and nobody actually told me how am I wrong.
By the way, I did not make up positive/optimistic nihillism, heard it being used many times, even google gives me plenty of results. But the term existentialism really does seem like a better fit.

Well I couldn't think of any particular criteria for "favorite" except these:
1. Did I throw away all earthly needs to just keep watching episodes?
2. Did I die inside when I ran out of episodes?

DBZ for example I wouldn't watch now. But in 1997 a friend and I acquired a huge stack of fansubs on VHS from a fat old creep on aol, and that marathon was some serious shit. We'd never seen anything like it.

Well, that's a nice nod to the manga, like some other things, but it doesn't make the adaptation as a whole authentic to the original.
Re:CH has many of those nods, within the franchise and between franchises: Black Claw having that Baron Ashura look, for example.

But it feels very different, has different themes, different characters (Re's Nat-chan is very different from the original Nat-chan, completely opposed personality, as is her functionality for the plot. Seiji is practically useless.)
We have none of the characteristic comedic relief characters. Panther Claw, on the other hand, feel too flashy, empty and inconsequetial, somewhat becoming of a comedic relief themselves. There's not really a Jill character, because Jill is more of a Zora. That alone destroys the traditional theme of human morality that spans across multiple characters in the manga. Anno does insert other themes (also concerning), but those are genuinely his own.
