I'm currently watching it and I'm on episode 11 but I don't see the appeal. It's boring and doesn't seem to go anywhere. Multiple time skips without any context, undeveloped characters being killed quickly, overpowered and badly written MC, forced romance and there's no feeling of general aim or goal that the MC is striving for and no sense of progression. He and Asuna just keep jumping from floor to floor, back and forth and engage in some side quests, events etc. It's all so convoluted. Should I continue watching. Does it get better later or in season 2 or 3? The only positive thing I have to say for SAO so far is that I want to fuck Asuna.

Probably not. It's only the first arc that has these kind of time skips, but the 2nd arc is generally considered the worst.

I'd say the 2nd season is better overall, and the 2nd half of season 2 and season 3 are generally considered pretty solid.

But if you aren't invested in the slightest at this point I'm not gonna tell you to watch 20 episodes of mediocrity before you get to the good parts.

Maybe you should just read the progressive.
