Beastars

Dunno, Legosi's model don't look intimidating to me, like he's supposed to be.

i like the voice, pretty much the legosi autism i expected

12/10 for the voice. 6/10 for the character design.

I think I've nailed down what's so wrong about this CG. It's the frame rate. Movements are so laggy it's like it's running on a ps2.

The CG doesn't look furry enough. No, not in that way, I mean look at Monsters Inc

Man that looks bad

That style of fur effect is one of the more computationally expensive things you can render. Pixar could accomplish it because their render farm at any given time is worth several times what Orange is in their entirety.

I mean I get that but with time you would hope the gap between to the two wasn't so wide. Unlike HnK this doesn't work to it's benefits

You're comparing a major hollywood studio that needs to produce about 120 minutes of footage and can afford to work at such a slow pace that some days render a single-digit number of frames; versus not just a TV studio but specifically a TV ANIME studio, that needs to put out multiple hours of footage and was still hiring for the project as recently as a couple months back. Available CPU Time is always going to be the biggest division between companies.

I liked the previous Legosi better. Don't know why they changed.

HnK worked great as 3DCG due to the relatively simplistic design of the characters. I've no fucking clue who's bright idea it was to get a CGI studio to do Beastars of all things

Because the character designs aren't simple. In 3D, the characters are always on-model. Look at how badly Jojo frames are botched even when they're just trying to do regular patterns, like the fishnet on King Crimson. That's with a studio that actually HAS a budget. Then consider how much less consistent and more complex some of the species details are. Imagine trying to draw a dozen lions' manes on screen at the same time, all flailing around in the middle of a fight.

Animation looks better than expected.

It still looks like shit.

I liked Legosi and Juno voices
Also, post Juno

>CGI SHIT
why?

Who's dick are you sucking to protect Studio Orange on Yea Forums?

All good gemfriends know they're a trifling ass studio, why can't furries do the same?

gems don't have fur retard

The ugly 3dshit doesn't do justice to the Manga's 2d style.

damn nigga, u mad.

That 3dshit apologist you're replying to is a known spammer and board regular. The fucker is online at at least 14 hours a day and he also destroys pre 2000s threads. R & I.

The CG is really hit or miss damn
there are bits i hate and bits that actually look good
I hope theres more good bits than bad

He's right you autstic spammer. It looks like horseshit.

HnK was fucking shit dude. The bodies of the characters look fucked. They couldn't get them to look right like the original PV.

>waaaaaaa they're detailed so it can't be hand drawn
>In 3D, the characters are always on-model
Not him, Violet Evergarden is more detailed than Beastars and it has movie tier consistency as well as being full of animation. This adaptation didn't need to be ruined by 3dcg.

>Look at how badly Jojo frames are botched even when they're just trying to do regular patterns
They're not though and look great.

Are you mentally retarded? They screwed up the bodes for the tv series.

>You aren't paying to watch this yet are criticising it like you know how hard it is to make 3d models.
No one fucking asked for it though. No one asked these fuckers to ruin this manga with 3d models you piss drinker. It's also no where near as difficult as drawing the model 8/12/24 times for a second of 2d animation.

>Violet Evergarden
Yeah, use an example from the only studio that wasn't a cheap sweatshop.
>They're not though and look great.

>Don't know why they changed.
Forced into 3d because they're lazy and want to save time and money. It's disgusting and doesn't do justice to the manga's art.

That jojo webm looks fine. Much better than being in fucking 3d.

It didn't work to HnK's benefits either. Everything aside from the gem hair was soulless trite.

>HnK worked great as 3DCG
I disagree. All it did was copy realty and do stuff that's been done do death or better outside of anime already. A lot of parts were literal downgrades of realty too, it's amazing how they managed to make something so shit.

>hands are fucked in every frame
>knuckles change shape and size between every frame
>severe deformation of the left shoulder when he starts moving again
>fishnet changes shape and thickness between frames
>the fucking linework is half as thick on the tweens
and let's not forget, the ONE FRAME they pick for the lip flap
>has the worst looking Epitaph
>and of course, completely fucks up the regular pattern on the head
And they drew the whole sequence this badly

It's hardly noticeable. See you GP for autism. And at least the character looks like and is stylized like he's supposed to be. I dont care how consistent 3dshit is if it can't express a style properly.

>blowing shit out of proportion
It's very minor and still looks good though, intentional or not. You never seen PPTA?

I liked Houseki, but that was well suited for CG with the smooth characters and relatively simple backgrounds, but with Beastars the original designs are so scruffy and sketchy that they just don't transition well.

I'll give it a shot since the music/shots/VA's look neat, but I don't have high hopes.

>I liked Houseki
I didn't.

>but that was well suited for CG with the smooth characters
No. It butchered the manga's 2d style.

good for you user.

Honestly doesn't sound right with basedspeak.

Louis' voice is exactly like how I imagined it'd be.

Sugimoto the immortal went full Legosi the autist.

Honestly I was expecting to to have more of a tired/haggard tone to it, sounds too boringly perfect, though I guess maybe it'll change as the series goes on.

Her design looks surprisingly close to the manga, why couldn't they make Legosi's design more like hers?

Attached: file.png (1920x1080, 1.1M)

>sounds too boringly perfect
Louis does seem perfect at first glance. I hope the VA does a good job for when that perfect mask breaks apart.

wtf? no

I wish Juno would gnaw my leg off.

>Legosi's model
Holy fuck OP, for a moment there I thought it was another 3d trash. Don't scare me like that ever again

Stop false flagging. The model looks like trash and this whole joke of a pv looks like a video game cutscene.

Who tf thought it was a good idea to give to orange? They're not even an anime studio, they don't make 2d animation ffs. Obviously they're incapable of adapting the manga's 2d style faithfully.

i know right

...

Time and budget are a big factor. Monster's Inc had months to render an hour and a half of footage while Orange presumably doesn't have as much time on top of having to render much more footage.

It's clear that the corner cutting 3dcg simply can't do justice to the Manga's artstyle. I do appreciate them slicing the frame rate down to mimic traditional though. If we can't get actual 2d them this is second best.

Not him, Monster Inc looked liked shit. The 3d just doesn't fit the manga's 2d style.
