Consider this: if the MC was a bitter otaku isekai'd into the body of a cute twink it would make sense to call this a self-insert character. But if the MC is just a cute twink who grew up being a cute twink all along, thinks and acts like a natural cute twink there simply isn't anything to identify with.

I guess this is mitigated somewhat by making him as bland and passive as possible, but if he were to assert his character in any way it would break the connection for much of the audience.
