Zenitsu's character works because his personality is terrible. If the audience doesn't hate him to begin with then his own self-loathing and knowledge of others' desire to see him fail comes off as insincere. I can understand why the character doesn't work for everyone but I admire that the mangaka committed to his only positive trait being his reliability.

I’ve only watched the anime so far, so I am sure I am missing a lot of detail exclusive to the manga, but based on my viewing of the anime, I feel Nezuko’s impact as a character has been diminished by her lack of personality. It’s not that her inability speak is the problem; it’s that she has no thoughts or emotions of her own, despite all of the other demons we’ve seen who can both speak and emote. We don’t know much about her before her demon transformation, and I think it weakens Tanjiro’s motivation to save her because the audience can’t connect with his previous relationship with his sister.

Honestly that’s one of the aspects I really love about her design, though it’s a combination of multiple aspects that make her design really appealing to me. I think everyone in the manga looks sort of funny and strange, that’s why I adore the character designs so much because they’re so unique and stylistic while still humble and not overbearing. Gotouge’s art style is probably my favorite in Jump right now even if it’s a bit crude looking.

i don't think he is much of an experienced fighter as kokushibou or akaza. but he has control over almost all demons, probably the best regeneration, and probably access to a variety of demon techniques that would make him very very hard to kill. and he's at least pretty fast based on when he faced the LMs or human akaza. and if one scratch can turn a normal person into a demon, he's also really deadly to fight.

He probably has the best blood magic. His regeneration makes it impossible to kill without sun so any battle with him turns into a long ass fight.

It's not the Sun Breath, Dance of the Fire God is an unspecified offshot, it is strong but it is not the fully realized Breath of the Sun, the Breath chart from the Databook made a point to not even directly link Sun and the Dance, only making a corner note that the Dance has some connection to the Breath of the Sun.

The actual Breath of the Sun is literally the Avatar of Breaths, all Breaths born from it were trying to mimic it.

At the moment it does look like Tanjiro's ancestors made the dance of the fire god as a way to remember how they were saved by sunbro. Maybe his ancestor saw plenty of his moves while being saved and recorded them in the dance.

I think a bit differently, maybe the full Breath of the Sun and the Dance of the Fire God shares a common origin in training and worshiping some deity, but one (Sun) is the fully realized version made for combat, the other (Dance) are rituals with steps that just so happens to enable some form of combat; in the end the Dance might be the first step to actually attain the full Breath of the Sun.

Tanjiro already tried some basic maneuvers with mixing very basic Water forms and one bit of Thunder into his Dance, that might be the path.

That would tie in with what sunbro said about all masters of their crafts would inevitably reach the same place.

As far as I remember, when Tanjirou was going hard on Daki, the techniques he used were, at least initially, translated as Breath of the Sun, was that a mistake in TL/publishing that got fixed in mags later?

Kaigaku was gimped, but still was a demon with Breath techniques, that's a plus even if he really wasn't at the top of his game as one worthy of being a legit Upper Moon.

However there's the case of Muzan being really strict about his recruitment though, even if Muzan has been losing demons left and right, I don't think he would just lower the skill gap to joing the UM ranks, if Muzan doesn't like what he sees, he just kills it. So Kaigaku was worth something, even if gimped.

Zenitsu and Inosuke did not get their marks yet exactly because if they had the Pillars would completely lose their aura of superior hunters, why would any reader think the Pillars are badass if lower ranked hunters can get their Marks easily just because they hang around the protagonist more than anyone else?

The Pillars getting their Marks first shows they are strong and just needed a little push to become Marked; Zentisu and Inosuke on the other hand needed to become stronger the normal way to reach Pillar level, which they may or may not have gotten into after their latest fights, Tomioka already considers Tanjiro to be Pillar level, giving his due credit as the Protagonist and being the first to get Marked, now for Zenitsu and Inosuke (Kanao as well) too they just need one more push.

I think Kimetsu can go beyond this arc without endangering any artistic integrity (YYH post Dark Tournament being the biggest example) and maybe Wani even planned for a bait climax even.

Even "artificial" extensions due to sales can be tasteful if done correctly. Like the doctor that turned Muzan into a demon appears or the demon slayers being defeated by Koku and Muzan, etc.

One way it would be a nightmare and just trash for sale for would be something like that after killing Muzan Tanjiro can hear "KEIKAKU DOORI" from the shadows and then Muzan's Hermano appears out of the blue.

In these past chapters, it has occurred to me that witnessing Inosuke without his boar mask, as beautiful as he may be, feels wrong and unsettling.

It may be because he doesn't frequently take it off, but unlike other characters whose face is hidden, Inosuke puts me at unease when he's not wearing his mask. As if that is not how it should be, as if I'm not suppose to see what I'm seeing.

I believe his face is beautiful, he is a very pretty guy, who makes me question my sexual orientation. His eyes are that of a beautiful girl, and so is the structure of his face. Capturing his beauty on paper doesn't come easy, I bet.

His hair are also very comforting, barely reaching shoulder level, they appear soft, like those of a pretty young lady.

I still recall of a scene in a chapter where Inosuke peeked out of his mask, ever so slightly, to grab something to eat. I couldn't help but freeze myself for a second, and stare at his face, focused on the task of consuming the food that stood before him. That very face, felt as if it was a blessing, which no mere human like myself was allowed to experience.

In recent chapters, there's a lot of mask-less Inosuke, which creates a disturbing sensation which goes down my spine every time I see a panel representing him. Is this right? Should I look away? Should I keep reading as if nothing was happening?

How could I possibly pretend that his face didn't give me a feeling of discomfort. That was simply not possible. Panel after panel, he is there, as precious and graceful as ever, perhaps even more than usual.

To think that one day, in the near future, his face will be animated, makes me feel even more upset. If mere panels in the Manga have this overwhelming effect on me, what of a full-fledged Animation? How could anyone, anyone at all, withstand such a thing?
