Is the anime a good adaptation?

GOOD LUCK LITTLE DUCK

The Anime is sort of closer to the manga but with some of the slice of life and comedy cut out that the manga added over the LN.
Meanwhile the LN has a lot of autistic tangents instead on account of the author being a huge nerd. The anime has a chibi spinoff called Youjo Shenki that mixes in stuff they didn't include from the LN in a sort of abbreviated, comedic fashion, aswell. So the anime ends up being a sort of middle point between manga and LN if you watch that aswell, though with Tanya's personality being closer to the manga (where she's a bit less moral than in the LN).
All in all the author recommends if you want the action go for the manga/anime and if you want the autism go for the LN. And it's worth watching in general.

Cute,saved.

I read the manga and it has way more misunderstandings than the anime.

It definitely tries to amplify the comedy.

It amps up slice of life, comedy and nudity but drops the complex reasoning and morality usually playing out in Tanya's head, aswell as the historical and philosophical tangents. She's also a bit more egotistical or less moral in it, and personally I don't like the manga art super much because it makes her look too pretty and innocent compared to the LN.

Agreed; I find it to be the least enjoyable way to consume YS, even if it has merit and can be fun.

It's like broken down versions of the actual stories from the LN/anime interspersed with basically doujins. But I like some of the actual doujins more.

I wish this series had better doujins desu.

It's got an official gourmet spin-off manga....
