Did he really deserve his fate? Infinite death looping is too cruel.
Did he really deserve his fate? Infinite death looping is too cruel
a druggie, schizo, most likely a literal fag too. Yes he did
>most likely a literal fag too
But he had a daughter
So does Tom Cruise
Probably not, its like how josuke turned a rapist and a killer into inanimate objects for no reason
>Diavolo discovers the arrows
>Sells them to Enya
>DIO becomes a stand user
>Enya sells one to Yoshihiro
>Kira becomes a stand user
>DIO gives an arrow to Pucci
>Pucci becomes a stand user
>Boss indirectly caused the events of parts 3, 4, 5 and 6
Boss was the true villain of Jojo all along, he truly was the devil.
Jojo should have ended with Part 2, Dio should have died on the boat.
That's Doppio
Even if you agree with retributive justice, his fate is way too much compared to his crimes. So no, I don't think he deserved it.
This. Even if he had gone to the Christian hell and made to experience all the pain and suffering he dealt it would still far short compared to this.
yeah, I'm pretty sure the amount of suffering he would accumulate would eventually greatly outweigh the suffering he inflicted during his lifetime. Hell, I don't think anyone deserves this, especially for someone as mentally ill as Diavolo.
GER is a fucking asshole
The way I like to look at it is that Diavolo himself isn't mentally ill, he's Doppio's mental illness personified and taking a physical form.
Lets see....
>A sociopath schizo
>Kills a fortune teller
>Killed Bruno
>Killed Narancia
>Killed Abbachio
>Won't even pay his assassin team reasonably
>Doesn't understand why people rebel against him
>Literally sucked the blood out of a child to regain his iron
>Also stitched up the child's mouth
>Killed his father figure
>Kept his mother captive under his house
>Presumably burned down his entire village
>Initially presented Passione as a just and virtuous organization despite propagating what it has seemingly fought against (drugs)
>Tried to kill his daughter
Granted, the circumstances in his life give him a reason to have his delusions of how fate chose him.
nah, a lot of deaths. perhaps equal to as many as he killed and ruined. but not infinite.
I agree he's done a lot of bad shit. And his circumstances, while sad, are no excuse for his behaviour.
I'm just against the idea of causing unnecessary suffering in general. He's a threat and can't be locked away safely, so I'd prefer just to execute him swiftly.
This. Just an endless death loop reminds me of that one Twilight Zone episode. However, it's not endless. Just a set duration before being brought out of it relative to the crime committed.
I don't remember if it was in the original broadcasts or the 90's version though.
DESU I'd say characters like Cioccolata or D'Arby would deserve an infinite death loop but not Diavolo
His fate is pretty sadistic when you think about it, above all the suffering he caused.
Yes, he did. He could have run the organization honestly. He could have not been a paranoid psycho that killed for the slightest reason. He didn't want to be part of the world, so he got his wish. He will never be part of anything, but he will never be at the top. He's the lowest of scum and that is his fate.
Rude
If it makes you feel better, you can just imagine the infinite loop only lasts as long as GER last and isn't truly infinite.
That sounds reasonable, no?
Still way over the top but infinitely more reasonable.
Which D’Arby?
My reasoning for this is that Stand effects seem to disappear when the Stand gets weaker or the user has the shit beaten out of them. It's been a while since I read a lot of JoJo, but Damo's Stand works that way for sure.
I could imagine the effects of GER slowly evaporating once it goes back to GE.
Diavolo ruined a lot mote lives, both directly and indirectly through his actions. He caused the events of Part 3, 4 and 6 from selling the arrows, he's turned Italy into a crime and drug infested hell-hole, he kills people who work under him constantly, employs other psychopathic killers to help him, and the list goes on. He's probably one of the characters with the largest impact, and a negative one at that, next to Kars. He did a lot more shit to ruin lives than one-off villains like Ciocolatta and D'arby.
GER being the bullshit stand it is, probably resets the weakening of its effects every Diavolo's death loops.
I think a novel mentioned that Diavolo was still looping months later so I don't see the loops ending for the poor lad.
This.
He said he hates Ciocolatta, and that Ciocolatta is the worst human being on the planet. However, he had the means to kill Ciocolatta and stop him from afflicting any more pain and suffering on people, and chose to abstain because he was useful.
And then Ciocolatta released Green Day over Rome, killing a multitude of civilians and endangering countless more.
Based. Finally, someone sees it. Diavolo is the devil, of course his fate is being condemned to eternal damnation. By the way, anyone else feel the 7 page muda for Choc was kind of forced? We get a backstory that detracts from everything, then giorno is like "man he's an asshole" throughout the fight and then at the end we get a beatdown that doesn't feel very satisfying. The other multi-page beatdowns like Steely Dan's were set up much better.
No he deserved it completely
Not saying that he didn't deserve it, just that I feel it's impersonal compared to the other beatdowns. We, the audience know all about exactly how much of a piece of shit Cioccolata is, but to Giorno he's just another bad guy who he speaks to for 5 seconds before killing him. Compare that to Steely Dan, who instead of being told to us how bad he is, we see firsthand along with Jotaro being tortured by him. It's trivial, even juvenile stuff, but its much more personal. I'm not saying Steely Dan comes even close to being evil like Cioccolata, but showing > telling, one of the few things I dislike about Jojo is the heavy amount of exposition. Even further in when GER destroys Diavolo, that beatdown was much more satisfying to me than the 7 pages because of all the shit we see Diavolo do coming up to that point and then we see his shit pushed in. Just my personal opinion but more personal = more satisfying when it comes to beatdowns.
Adding onto that I wish Araki didn't puss out and made Fugo an enemy
At least Giorno did it without knowing how GER works. Meanwhile, Lelouch knowingly did the same to the villain in the movie.
> We, the audience know all about exactly how much of a piece of shit Cioccolata is, but to Giorno he's just another bad guy who he speaks to for 5 seconds before killing him.
Yeah I was thinking this exact same thing reading your first post.
It makes sense for Giorno to get pissed off with Cioccolata though, because he's always cared about the sanctity of life. He doesn't know how truly horrific Cioccolatta is, but just the simple fact he'd release his Stand in the way that he did is enough to set Giorno off. It's the same reason that he killed Polpo. Giorno doesn't like it when people carelessly fuck over the little guy.
That's a good point, I never thought about that. Kinda makes more sense now
Yeah especially considering Cioccolata was going to kill 3 million civilians along with pretty much gloating about it while fighting Giorno
There's no way Cioccolatta could have gotten away with killing 3 million people, but I'm sure there were going to be a lot of casualties had Giorno and the crew not stepped in.
How many times does this thread need to be made? Of course he didn't deserve it, no crime he committed would last for eternity.
The ones that truly deserved that fate more than anyone where:
Baby face
Dio
And all those that kept killing innocent by standers.
He deserves it for killing Bruno
Giorno killing Polpo was such a good moment, I wish we had gotten more of that throughout the Part.
the fuck, test
>for no reason
He killed his grandfather.
Honestly giorno lost all personality when he joined passione, he became a side character next to bucciarati
Perhaps he might not have deserved his fate, but it's kind of the same way as a criminal who might not have deserved being killed once getting killed because the safety of their hostages outweighs their personal safety.
He might not have deserved it, but it was the expedient way to get him out of the picture for sure and stop hurting people, and so that is what got applied to him.
He only needed to die once to get him out of the picture. Every death after that is just Araki jacking himself off.
He could have stopped being killed once with a KC activation, no?
GER prevents him from using it.
