To be fair and it's accepting that Berserk more likely remain inconclusive the plot reads better and feels normally paced once it's read in one go, there are call backs and premonitions to things that happen much later in the manga, but overall has been pretty consistent, started really grim and has softened a bit but seems to also like a reflection of the Guts state of mind and the fact he had to acknowledge his allies to reach his goal.
Mainly because at this state Griffith seems invincible and likely plotting to sacrifice humanity and at some point recover that golden age with the band of the hawk, but Casca it's the only one remaining and maybe it's time to move on.
Who knows what could be the resolution. Griffith fucking up humanity because it was the plan of the idea of evil or Guts saving humanity maintaining the status quo and more likely being forgotten and even hated by the world.
